Pazzles Calendar Layout With Free Mini Calendar Printables

Hello Crafty friends,
I hope you’re week is going well. This week the Pazzles team is sharing organizational craft ideas. As I thought about this assignment, I thought about how much I want to be WAY BETTER organized this year. Part of being organized for me means keeping better track of time. So I decided to create this calendar that will hang on my bulletin board.
calendar layout-650noa
I started by using a standard 12 x 12 scrapbook page size. From there I laid out my concept with my software. I love being able to lay my project out on my software before I cut anything. It helps me figure out my die cut sizes as well as what pieces I will use. Once I laid it all out, I picked my papers.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
I started by cutting a base of the doilie frame cut file from the library. I inked the edges of my first layer of patterned paper. I did it without being too careful. I wanted to give it a shabby chic look. I added the doile from and then added the next layer of paper and inked the edges as well. I did use foam tape under the doile frame layer to give it just a little lift.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
I then cut the flourish Hardware, Royal Damask, Wire dress form and the doilie frame2 all from the library. For the dress form, I cut a couple of them out to give it more body. I used regular kraft cardstock, but wanted the weight of like a chipboard, so I layered two of them together. This is a simple trick to give your die cuts more stability of you don’t happen to have chipboard on hand.  After I layered the two layers, I went ahead and used my white daisy ink pad and my sponge and sponged some white ink onto the die cut.  For the other die cuts, I used some of my saddle ink to give them some dimension.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Here’s a closer look at the clock. I created this die cut and cut it in kraft cardstock. I also inked it. I did also cut a piece of patterned paper and inked the edges as well. I roughed up the edges of the patterned paper just a bit I also used a brad to adhere the hands together. If you look closely I did also cut out the hands in duplicate and layered them. Once again to give them a bit more body.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
I then printed and cut the calendars and then hole punched them and used some jump rings from my stash for the binding. You can also see a closer look at the pretty frame die cut I used. Once again I cut this in duplicate to give it a bit more structure and then used some foam tape to give the calendar set a bit more lift and depth.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Here is a closer look at the damask die cut. You can see that I inked it to give it a bit more dimension.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Here’s a closer look to see the flat back pearl gems I used to give the border a nice decorative touch.

Here is the printable psalm sentiment. I printed it on some cream cardstock and then inked the edges. I added a brad to the die cut at the top and then colored it with my mahogany marker. The brad was gold and I wanted more of a copper look.  It all came together pretty quickly and I will hang it in my craft room to help me keep track of the special days, like my family member birthdates, anniversaries, etc.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
The card size is 4.25 x 5.5 a standard A2. I used some Kraft Cardstock  for the base. I then used some white cardstock for the other layers and my stamps and inks to create the backgrounds.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Here’s a closer look at the stamped hearts. I used some foam tape between the hearts and scalloped heart to give them a little extra dimension. The middle layer heart was cut out of white cardstock and then I inked the edges with my Hollyhock ink pad to give the layers a little contrast. One heart was stamped with With Cashmere ink pad and the other was stamped with my Cocoa Ink Pad.   I also used some black shimmer trim as well as some gold shimmer trim for the top embellishments.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Here’s a closer look at the stamped sentiment. It came from the  The Best Things Stamp Set and I used my Cocoa Ink Pad. The little gems are from the Brown and Tan Gem assortment set.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Here’s a shot of my background mat. I used one of the stamps from the geometric backgrounds stamp set and my Pixie Ink Pad.  I cut it an eighth of an inch smaller than the base size.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Next I cut another piece of white cardstock at 4.125 x 3.5 and used my Saddle Ink Pad and the Amour Stamp Set to stamp the background.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
I wanted to soften the contrast of the darker ink with the white cardstock so I used a piece of my round sponge and dabbed some Champagne ink pad on to the piece.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
I finished off the look by adding some of the black and white twill ribbon.  Came together very easily Smile
