Card In A Box with Artbooking and FREE SVG File

Happy Sabbath crafty friends,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend! First, things first. Here is the reading in Psalms for today.
ז Zayin
49 Remember the word to Your servant,
Upon which You have caused me to hope.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
For Your word has given me life.
51 The proud have me in great derision,
Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.
52 I remembered Your judgments of old, O Lord,
And have comforted myself.
53 Indignation has taken hold of me
Because of the wicked, who forsake Your law.
54 Your statutes have been my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.
55 I remember Your name in the night, O Lord,
And I keep Your law.
56 This has become mine,
Because I kept Your precepts.
Psalms 119: 49-56
Now on for today’s project. Today is my beloved sister in law’s birthday. In true Melin form, I am a day late and a dollar short in sending out her card. But I thought I would at least post it on here. I had originally started on something else, but then was inspired to go ahead and give the famous Card In A Box a try. So I just had to take the time to make a cut file for it. This way I could just cut them out instead of having to think about the measurements, etc. So here it is.

card in a box-480wad

So while I made the card in a box template to cut out on my beloved Pazzles, I still went ahead and used the Cricut and my new Artbooking cartridge for all the “fluff”. I started by cutting out the base of the box in some kraft cardstock.

I then cut the corresponding panels out of some Skylark Paper. The paper cut like butter on my Pazzles and came together very quickly. SIDE NOTE: I do have photos of building the template. I have to edit them and then add them to this post a bit later. For those who may be unsure how the box goes together.

Card in a box cut file includes the card in a box base and the matching panels. The available formats are: AI, DXF, EPS, GSD, KNK, STUDIO, SVG and WPC. These should work with most electronic die cut machines out there including those who use the new Cricut Explore machine.

All of the decorative cuts are from the Artbooking cartridge bundle. . I cut the butterflies at 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 and 2” each. I cut the cupcake at 3” and I cut the celebrate title at .75”. Oh and that lovely note tag in the back was cut at 4”.  SIDE NOTE: All of these were cut with the REAL DIAL SIZE KEY. That had a corresponding stamp in the Artbooking bundle. I used the saddle ink to stamp the image and then wroth my note with a brown fine point sharpie I had on hand. The butterflies were cut with some Blue cardstock and kraft cardstock. I then inked the edges of the butterflies with my Lagoon Ink. I did use the Lagoon ink that is in the Adventure Ink Pad set.

They are the little square inks and they are slightly different than the big CTMH ink pads. I used the Sweet leaf and crème brulee from the Whimsy Ink Pad set for the candle. I stamped the heart shape that is also part of the Artbooking Bundle in Sweet leaf. I then used the 4 You banner from the remarkable wreath stamp set and stamped that in Lagoon ink.

Shaped Lattice Card With Coordinating Stamp Cut Files

Hello crafty friends,
Happy Friday…..Shabbat Shalom,
For those following along with the Psalms reading and the Counting of the Omer, here is the scripture reading for today.

ו Waw
41 Let Your mercies come also to me, O Lord—
Your salvation according to Your word.
42 So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.
43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I have hoped in Your ordinances.
44 So shall I keep Your law continually,
Forever and ever.
45 And I will walk at liberty,
For I seek Your precepts.
46 I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings,
And will not be ashamed.
47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments,
Which I love.
48 My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments,
Which I love,
And I will meditate on Your statutes.
Psalms 119: 41-48

What a beautiful passage of Hope and confidence in Him. I hope you’re blessed by the strength of these words. Now on to today’s project.

Here is my completed card. I created the shaped card with a lattice overlay. The sentiment if from Buzz and Bumble Workshop on the Go kit(retired). I used the Love Clusters stamp set for the butterfly.  And the background stamp is from the In The Background Flair Stamp set. I used some Pink gems for the centers of the flowers.

The stamped doily and the flowers are from some retired CTMH stamp sets. The doily is from the Simple Memories set. I stamped it with some Whisper Ink. The flower is from the Card Word Puzzle set. I stamped the flowers with some Blush ink and I used some pink glitter gems for the centers. The butterfly is from the Love Clusters stamp set. I stamped it with some Lagoon Ink. This stamp set coordinates with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. BUT, I also created coordinating cut files for those who work with other electronic die cut machines.

Ivy Lane and Art Philosophy Scrapbook Layout

Hello crafty friends,
I hope your Thursday is going great! Today I am sharing a layout I created with the Ivy Lane Paper Pack and Elements. But before I get to that, I wanted to share today’s scripture reading for those that are following along with the reading of Psalms 119 and participating in the Counting of The Omer.

ה He

33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes,
And I shall keep it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments,
For I delight in it.
36 Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to covetousness.
37 Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your way.
38 Establish Your word to Your servant,
Who is devoted to fearing You.
39 Turn away my reproach which I dread,
For Your judgments are good.
40 Behold, I long for Your precepts;
Revive me in Your righteousness.
Psalms 119: 33-40

What an awesome passage. May we each strive to observe His teaching and instruction with our whole heart indeed! So now on to my layout for today.

Ivy lane layout-480

As I mentioned above, I used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge  and the Ivy Lane Paper Pack and the Ivy Lane Complements set for this project. I used the Ivy Lane purple cardstock and cut the image out for the background. You can find the large doily shape on page 66 in your Cricut Art Philosophy handbook. I cut it at 10.5 inches.

ivy lane paper pack-480

The paper pack is a great value. You get 12 sheets of paper. Six patterned papers that are double sided print (2 of each pattern) and 6 coordinating cardstock sheets. All for less than 10 bucks! That is only .83 cents per sheet!  For this project, I did use some regular white cardstock from my stash. I wanted to layer my mats.

elements closeup-480
Here is a closer look at the way I layered the different elements. They are stickers so you could just peel and stick, but I wanted to give them a little lift, so I used some foam tape to give them just a bit more dimension.

ivy lane complements-480

    inked edges-480
Here you can see that I inked the edges of the patterned paper with some Cocoa Ink  to give it a little extra character. This layout came together very quickly. I will be sharing a couple of more layouts I made with the Ivy Lane Paper Pack and Ivy Lane Complements over the next couple of days, so that you can see how far you can stretch the materials provided!
