Love U Lots Card And Flower Making Video

Hello crafty friends,
Hope you’re having a Wonderful Wednesday! For those that are following along with me, reading through Psalms 119 and counting the Omer, here is today’s reading portion.

Daleth
25 My soul clings to the dust;
Revive me according to Your word.
26 I have declared my ways, and You answered me;
Teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts;
So shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.
28 My soul melts from heaviness;
Strengthen me according to Your word.
29 Remove from me the way of lying,
And grant me Your law graciously.
30 I have chosen the way of truth;
Your judgments I have laid before me.
31 I cling to Your testimonies;
O Lord, do not put me to shame!
32 I will run the course of Your commandments,
For You shall enlarge my heart.
Psalm 119: 25-32

Now for my project today.

Here is a look at my completed card. It is an A2 (4.25 x 5.5) size. The base is white cardstock. All the cuts are from the Cricut Artriste Cartridge.

stamped background-480
I stamped both backgrounds. The striped background as well as the “chicken wire” background. For the Chicken wire I used some Whisper Ink along with the background stamp. For the Striped background I used some Slate Ink Pad along with the corresponding stamp. I then turned to my Cricut Artiste Cartridge and cut the elements for the rosette, the pennant, flowers and border. I also cut the heart and circle from the Artiste cartridge as well.

flower layers-480
Here are the pieces to create the flower. They are cut from the Artiste cartridge and they can be found on page 54 of the handbook. I cut two at 1” and three at 1.25”. I cut them in plain white cardstock and then inked them with my Blush Ink pad. I cut slits into the small cuts and two of the larger ones. I did this so the petal would be slightly more flexible. Just be careful not to cut them all the way to the center. Once I did that, I pulled the petals up and pinched them using a dowel rod  or other round object to help the petals take shape. I applied a small amount of glue to keep the petals closed together.

Here’s what the flowers look like when completed.

Psalm 119-18 Close To My Heart Card

Hello crafty friends,

I hope you are having a terrific Tuesday! I wanted to drop a note really quick for those that are following along with the counting of the Omer and reading through with me. First, here is today’s reading portion.

 Gimel
17 Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law.
19 I am a stranger in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 My soul breaks with longing
For Your judgments at all times.
21 You rebuke the proud—the cursed,
Who stray from Your commandments.
22 Remove from me reproach and contempt,
For I have kept Your testimonies.
23 Princes also sit and speak against me,
But Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my delight
And my counselors.
Psalm 119: 17-24

I love this passage of scripture. It really speaks to my heart these days as I strive to learn more about the Hebrew roots of my Christian faith. Here is a shot of my computer’s background.
my screen saver-480
Unfortunately, many Christians have been taught that the Torah is Law and that it should be done away with. It really is more accurately identified as “teaching and instruction” I won’t get into a big theological discussion as my intent is to share with you the beauty in allowing the Lord to show you how the Old and New testament really do come together and that there is light and love in honoring the Words of the Tanakh.

So here is my project for today.
psalm 119-18 card-480
This is a pretty simple A2 card. I started with a white cardstock base. I cut a black and then purple mat.

border plain-480
Next, I cut one of the border cuts I created for this stamp set.

border strip stamped-480
I stamped the border image in Pansy Purple(retired color).

stamped background-480
Next I used some plain white cardstock and stamped the border image into a pattern. I simply flipped the stamp for every layer. Once I was done stamping, I trimmed down that layer to create the background mat.

stickles closeup-480
Then I stamped the heart and the flourished border stamps. Again, I stamped onto pre-cut pieces that I had cut from the cut file set I created.

Stamped Sunflower Card

Hello crafty friends,
I hope you are enjoying a great day and maybe even enjoying some crafting. Today I am sharing another card I created with a couple CTMH stamps. Before I share my project, for those that are following along with the counting of the Omer and reading along with me, here is today's reading.

Beth

9 How can a young man cleanse his way?

By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have declared
All the judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts,
And contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.
Psalm 119: 9-16
Blessings as you read and meditate on His Word.

So now onto my card for today.

ctmh-sunflower-card-480
Here’s a look at my completed card. It is an A2 (4.25 x 5.5) size. I started by taking a piece of Kraft cardstock and stamping the stripes using the In the Background stamp. I used Chocolate inkI then repeated this step on a smaller mat.

background stamped-480

backgrounds stampedboth-480

I set those aside and began working on my flower. I stamped several petals in Crème Brule ink and used one of the “petal” stamps from the Just for you set. I created SVG die cut files for this set so stamping several at a time and having them pre-cut was fast and easy.

flower base1-450
I created the base by using a 1 1/2” circle. I positioned the petals as pictured above.

flower base2-450
I then added another set of petals underneath the first four and placed them offset as pictured above. I set this layer aside.

flower center1-480
Next I took a 1 1/2” circle and stamped to create the center of my flower. I started by using the circle stamp in the stamp set and inking it with Chocolate ink. I stamped in the center of the circle. See photo above.

flower center 2-450
Next I stamped on the top and bottom of the circle. See photo above.

flower center step3-450
Then I stamped on each side of the bottom stamped image. See photo above.

flower center finished-450
I repeated the last step on the sides of the top stamped image and this completed the center. After stamping. I added petals to this circle in the same fashion as the base layer. There should be a total of 8 petals on this layer.

finished flower-450
To complete the flower, I simply layered the stamped image layer flower set on top of the bottom larger layer. This gives you a total of 16 petals and makes the flower nice and full.

sunflower closeup-480
Once the flower was completed, I added some stamped leaves and adhered it to the card.

sentiment closeup-480
I added a sentiment and used my EK photo corner punch to punch out some photo corners. I just used the same center circle stamp and stamped on some cardstock and then punched the photo corners out. This gave the photo corners an extra decorative touch.
