Hello crafty friends,
I hope you are having a terrific Tuesday! I wanted to drop a note really quick for those that are following along with the counting of the Omer and reading through with me. First, here is today’s reading portion.
Gimel
17 Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law.
19 I am a stranger in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 My soul breaks with longing
For Your judgments at all times.
21 You rebuke the proud—the cursed,
Who stray from Your commandments.
22 Remove from me reproach and contempt,
For I have kept Your testimonies.
23 Princes also sit and speak against me,
But Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my delight
And my counselors.
Psalm 119: 17-24
I love this passage of scripture. It really speaks to my heart these days as I strive to learn more about the Hebrew roots of my Christian faith. Here is a shot of my computer’s background.
Unfortunately, many Christians have been taught that the Torah is Law and that it should be done away with. It really is more accurately identified as “teaching and instruction” I won’t get into a big theological discussion as my intent is to share with you the beauty in allowing the Lord to show you how the Old and New testament really do come together and that there is light and love in honoring the Words of the Tanakh.
So here is my project for today.
This is a pretty simple A2 card. I started with a white cardstock base. I cut a black and then purple mat.
Next, I cut one of the border cuts I created for this stamp set.
I stamped the border image in Pansy Purple(retired color).
Next I used some plain white cardstock and stamped the border image into a pattern. I simply flipped the stamp for every layer. Once I was done stamping, I trimmed down that layer to create the background mat.
Then I stamped the heart and the flourished border stamps. Again, I stamped onto pre-cut pieces that I had cut from the cut file set I created.
Here are the products used for this project
