PCW Book–Writing Challenge A Couple Freebies

Good afternoon crafty friends,
Thank you for joining us for another Terrific Tuesday PCW Challenge. Today's challenge theme is brought to you by our lovely Lynden. She has challenged us to use a “book page or writing” along with the colors black, white and Peridot. You can use other colors, but try and use those three as main colors :)

The book or writing can be either a piece of paper, a page from an actual book or you can use a “stamp” or other medium to achieve the look of writing.  So here is what our wonderful designers came up with.

Cartridge Showcase: Artiste Bundle

Good morning crafty friends,
Today my showcase is on the new Cricut Artiste Bundle from Close To My Heart. I have recently become a Close To My Heart Consultant and got my hands on this new bundle. It is a terrific value for what you get. I know most of us are used to paying around 30 to 35 for a new cartridge, so the $99 price tag seems a bit steep.  But it really isn’t when you consider what you get. You get the following:
CricutArtiste
* Cricut Cartridge: The cartridge is jammed packed with a great variety of cuts including some fantastic 3-D cuts too!
* 3 D-Size Stamp Sets which correspond with several of the cuts on the cart
* 3 Sheets of Chipboard Elements that Correspond with Each Stamp Set!!!!
* Plus!!!! The Cartridge comes with 2 books, one with assembly instructions for the 3-D projects!!!

Okay, now on to my projects!

Birthday Card From Artiste

Good afternoon crafty friends,

I just wanted to share a card I made for my niece. She is a truly sweet girl. I wish I was closer to her. She lives in Michigan and I live in Florida. But by the grace of God, the Lord created an irrevocable bond and I stand on the promise that she will know how much “this side of the family” loves her.

I created this card using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge Bundle. The only thing that didn’t come from the Artiste Cartridge was the Scalloped Frame. I could have easily picked one of the MANY pretty frames they have on the cartridge, but it just so happened that I had this one already cut from my Pazzles inspiration....SOOOO, waste not, want not. I decided to use it. Here’s my recipe:

CTMH Supplies
Bear: Cricut Artiste Cuts
Cupcake: Cricut Artiste Cuts and coordinating Stamp Set
Birthday Sentiment: Cricut Artiste Coordinating Stamp Set
Crown: Cricut Artiste Cut

Designer Paper: Dotty For You Pack
Inks: Brown Bag, Pear, Gypsy and Blush

Other Supplies:
White Cardstock
for the base of the card and the scalloped frame
Dew Drops: Island Breeze
I also used the following Copics to “Color” the cupcake
Y11, Y13, Y15
V20, V25, R32
Stickles: Star Dust
Dry Decorator Chalks, Fine Tip Black Pen and White Signo Pen for Bear’s Facial Features.

Here’s a closer shot of the bear and cupcake.

Be sure to come back on Monday as I will be doing a cartridge showcase on the new Artiste Cartridge and show you some more cute things!!!!

Cartridge Showcase: 3 Birds on Parade

Hey Everyone!

Thank you for joining us for another cartridge showcase! Today we have the amazingly talented Chef Melissa  here showcasing the 3 Birds on Parade!!

Today I am showcasing my newest (and quickly becoming my most favorite) Cricut cartridge: 3 Birds on Parade. I have a quirky sense of humor and love to craft fun, bright projects so this cartridge is perfect for me!

Today I have made a few different projects to show you so you can see a few things this cute little cartridge has to offer.

Fist, the banner I made for my son's birthday. (He wanted a "camping birthday" which ended up being a ton of fun. Cook out, tent in the back yard and a cake that looked like a giant S'More...yum!). Anyhow, this little bird was perfect for his banner:

This project also shows you the font on this cartridge. At first I wasn't super crazy about it, but it has grown on me. The cut out in the center of each letter is a birds foot, so you would need just the right project to use it on. The font is also very chunky.

The next projects is a set of 4 Christmas Cards. I looooove these little guys!

These birds do take a lot of layers, but they are well worth it. They each have a very cute little expression that goes with them as well (I just struggled to get it cut small enough for the front of the card as they are pretty precise cuts. They seem like they would be better cut quite a bit larger than the 1 inch height I was looking for).  The caption of each photo tells you what the expression included on the cartridge is for each of the birds.

" Baby It's Cold Outside"

"Be Jolly"

"Deck the Halls"

"Happiest Holidays"

My last projects are not something you would expect to see from this cartridge. I spend a lot of time on Pinterest and am currently obsessed with the trend of silhouettes of little birds. I used the base of one bird to create these two cards.  I cut the larger birds at 1/2 inch and the small birds on the sympathy card are 1/4 inch (teeny!). The embellishments and expressions are both stamps. I like finding cuts on cartridges that you can make things with that are unexpected. This bird would typically have two layers over this black shape to created an adorable little bluebird.

I hope you have enjoyed today's showcase and would love to see projects you have made with this cartridge. There are a lot of other cuts I can't wait to use (such as a super cute pirate and a superhero) but I haven't had the right occasion (yet!)
~Melissa
