Cartridge Showcase: Nifty Fifties

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Cricut Cartridge Showcase.  Today we have Hattie from Hattie's Haven.  Hattie has such a great sense of color, design, and detail.  And she brings all of that to her very first Cricut  cartridge showcase.  Hattie is showcasing the NIFTY FIFTIES cartridge.

First up is a ROCKIN’ layout!

It was fun to use large sized cuts to accent the pages and play off of the photos!
Layout created with Cricut Craft Room

Route 66 sign (page 38)
Hotel Sign (page 49) was personalized using the Nifty Fifties font with the name of the school.
Juke Box (page 56)
Car (page 24)
The sign’s background was created using the Cuttlebug “Swiss Dots” embossing folder.

This cartridge is very versatile; you can make layouts (like the one above), decorations, and cards for girls…

You’re the Cat’s Meow Card

Cat (page 23) was cut at 4”.
Instead of cutting the small whites of her eyes I used a Signo White Pigment ink pen (UM-153).
Her collar is Magenta stickles.
The white background was created using the Cuttlebug “Seeing Spots” embossing folder.
Stamp is My Pink Stamper More Punny-licious using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

And cards for Dad……..
Crusin’ By Birthday Card

Car1 (page 24)
I really like how using the shimmery silver cardstock looks!
The teal background was created using the Cuttlebug “Seeing Spots” embossing folder.
A Black Glaze pen was used on the tires to give them a shinny look.
Inside sentiment created on my computer.

And cards for friends……..
Poodles of Laughter Card

Poodle (page 29) was cut at 4”.
The Poodle’s fur was created using Marvy’s Snow Marker pen and a heat gun. (My first time…)
Stamp is My Pink Stamper More Punny-licious using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

And cards for boys…….
Rocket Card

Rocket (page 28) was cut at 4”.
The white background was created using the Cuttlebug  “Swiss Dots” embossing folder.
Silver nail-heads
Stamp is Making Memories Giggle Kids Boy (no. 31927)using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

The possibilities are endless with the Nifty Fifties cartridge.  It has a fun font and lots of images that can be used for a variety of events!!  Images include everything from a sewing machine to a Tiki Bar sign!  Remember the pink lawn flamingo’s????  Yep, they are in there too!

Just looking through the booklet I’ve come up with other ideas for cards and layouts…stayed tuned….you’ll be seeing more of this cartridge!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a "Nifty" Crafty Day!

A great big THANK YOU to Hattie for a fabulous Nifty Fifties Showcase.  Please drop by Hattie's blog and leave her some fabulous love.  You can visit Hattie at www.hattieshaven.blogspot.com.

Cartridge Showcase: Paper Play

Thank you for joining us for another cartridge showcase! Today we have the amazingly talented Chef Jenny  here showcasing the Paper Play Cartridge!!

Hi Everybody! Today I'm excited to share my project for the Cooking With Cricut's Cartridge Showcase.  The cartridge showcase is when we feature a Cricut cartridge of our choice and projects we've made with that cartridge. We hope you'll be inspired to pull out your cartridges and find new ways to use them!  For today's showcase, I chose the Paper Play cartridge.  This is geared towards the little ones, but still a very fun cartridge to play with!  For my first project I made one of the bookmarks (there are 2) on this cart:
*I used some Peachy Keen Stamps, embossing powder, and Copic markers to embellish this cut.
*Here is how the bookmark looks opened up.
The next project I have to share is a little home decor project.  These cute little monsters are very easy to put together, and super fun to embellish!
*These would be so fun for a cute, friendly Halloween decoration.  Or use some birthday themed patterned paper, and give your "little monster" a MONSTER of birthday decoration!

*I even made a couple of them with my kids!
The last project I created is the fun cootie catcher game on this cart.  Remember those?  I made one of these when I was in school, but definitely didn't use a Cricut to cut it, lol!  Here's how you put it together:
*First, cut out all the pieces.  The large square is the base cut with the fold marks on it.

*Even if you've never folded one of these before, these fold marks make it MUCH easier.  The folding directions are in the handbook.
*I would recommend using patterned paper, or a thinner piece of cardstock as a piece that is too thick would be harder to fold.

*Once you do all the folding, your piece should look like this.

*Here is the game base once it's completely folded.

*After folding, you need to put the numbers on.
*Check the handbook to see where to adhere them.

*Then you attach the fun faces that come with this cut onto the outside diamond shapes.  Thse were fun and easy to put together!
I hope you have enjoyed today's showcase!  I also appreciated how they made a lot of the cuts with boy and girl options!   I am a huge fan of off-the-page projects, so this was the perfect cartridge.  TFL :O)

CWC #98: Card Outreach

Happy Wednesday and welcome to challenge day at Cooking With Cricut!  This week our Design Team is creating cards for DT member Madison's "I Feel the Love" Project.  This month's recipient at IFTL is Olivia, a 9-year-old with a sparkling heart, in need of extra love and encouragement. Her mother, Erika, lost her battle with cancer in 2011. Facing this new reality has been extremely hard for Olivia. As valiantly as Erika fought cancer, Olivia fights to put an end to this terrible disease.

Soon after her mother's passing, at only 8 years old, Olivia founded
Kids Involved in Cancer Research (KICR) with a fierce drive to raise awareness and money for colon and lung cancer research. The 2nd annual KICR walkathon took place recently and what better way to show Olivia we support her than to send her a box full of love! Our happy cards will bring a smile to her beautiful face as she fights her own battle of dealing with the loss of her mom. It will mean so much to her to see that there are people thinking of her, who took the time to make a fun little card especially for her. Every card will be a blessing, engulfing her with healing love and light.

Don't forget . . . you can click on the Designer's name to check out details of their projects and leave them a comment.

  • Must link your project through Inlinkz and not just your blog.
