Mane Attraction Cricut Layout

Good morning everyone,

Here is my project for this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge. Our challenge this week was Zoo themed. I used the lion from Everyday Paper Dolls and the "Mane" letters are from Sesame Street Font.

Here is a closeup of the lion. I modified him in my Gypsy with the Hide Contour feature. This way I was able to give him my facial features.
Closeup of the title block. I created the background title block Word Art and then cut the "Mane" letters from my Cricut. I popped up a couple of the letters with foam dots for extra dimension.

I used the following Cricut Cartridges:
  • Everyday Paper Dolls: The Lion
  • Sesame Street Font: Cut the "MANE" letters @ 1.75" all upper case.
I did modify the lion in my Gypsy. I am still really "green" with my Gypsy, so bear with me as I learn too! But I did the "hide contour" feature and then cut him out twice in two different colors of cardstock. Then I cut the "inner lion" part out of the one and layered him onto the "mane" part.

If you would like the Gypsy file click to download: HERE

Reminder: You must have the Gypsy and the Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge in order to cut this file out on your Cricut.

If you would like the WordArt title block Digi Stamp I created, click HERE to download.
This is a pdf file that you will print and cut.

BFF Layout-Cricut

Here is my project for the Pile It On Challenge Blog. Plus we had to use either plastic or some other type of stretchy material in our projects.

For my plastic or stretchy material, I used Magic Mesh along the bottom of the pink borders and I wrapped the photo mat with it. This is something that has been around for a long time :-)
Closeup of the title. I used Songbird and Wall Decor and More.
Here is a closeup of the cute Bugaboo Stamp!
I printed these cuties out and colored them with my Copics.

Cricut Cartridges:
  • Songbird to cut the "My" title. Cut @ 2" both font and shadow.
  • Wall Decor and More. Cut the BFF title. Cut @ 2.25" Cut "B" with Monogram Feature.
  • Bloom. Cut the flowers @ 2" and 1.5". I cut the 6 point flower: 2nd row from bottom, 4th key from left.
  • Used Bazzill cardstock and DCWV, Nana's Kids Glitter paper and Magic Mesh.

Joy Layout-Cricut

Hello Everyone,
Here is a layout I made with a couple of challenges in mind. I used the sketch from the SOUS challenge blog this week. Over at Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge blog, our challenge was to use something that would require a blueprint to complete, i.e. a house and in my case, a birdhouse :-)
Here is a view of the entire layout.

This flourish came from the Botanicals Cricut Lite cartridge.

I cut these scalloped circles in three sizes. These were from the Cindy Loo cartridge, but I know other cartridges have a scalloped circle that you can use.

I used the following cartridges to complete this layout:

  1. Botanicals - birdhouse, flourish and JOY lettering
  2. Cindy Loo - Scalloped circles for "flowers"
I used an EK success Daisy punch for the daisy strip and an EK success border punch for the "lacey" looking border.
The Girls' Paperie Patterned Paper - Shabby Flower and Paisley
This paper is double sided so I only used two pieces of paper to get all four patterns :-)
  • I cut ALL the Cricut elements in plain white cardstock.
  • I chalk inked the flourish and JOY letters with dark brown chalk ink.
  • I colored the birdhouse with my copics and then hit it with my dark brown chalk ink to give it a more aged look and to "knock back" the colors.
  • I stamped the white scallops with a MS stamp and then inked the edges with Pastel Pink Chalk Ink. I then added a dew drop in the centers.
  • I punched the Daisy border in white cardstock and then inked it in dark brown chalk ink.
  • I punched the Flourish border in pink cardstock and then inked it slightly on the edges with my Chestnut Roan chalk ink to give it a bit of "shabbyness".
I hope you enjoy this. I will be back later with a little different version of this layout which will feature a FREE file for my SCAL and MTC Cricut crew as well as all the other cut file "collectors" out there :-)

Hibiscus Layouts and Card

Good morning all!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far! I am showcasing 3 projects I did with a summer/hibiscus flower theme.

It all started because I created a digi stamp for the card posted below for the Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge Blog.

PROJECT 1
This layout is made with Cricut flowers. The Hibiscus came from the Life's A Beach cartridge and the leaves came from Walk In My Garden. The butterfly was from Sentimentals cartridge.

Here is a view of the entire layout. I used an MS punch set to create the border around the outside. I used Bazzill, Bo Bunny and Basic Grey papers.
Here is a side shot of the butterfly and flowers to show the dimension.
Here is a close up of the butterfly. I started with a plain white butterfly and then inked the back and then inked the wing cutouts. I then covered the wing cut outs with Rock Candy Distress Stickles by Ranger.

PROJECT 2
Here is my Cricut with SVG file version. I created the Hibiscus and leaves and the Relax title on this one. I have a link to the relax title below. Please be sure to sign up for my newsletter. I will be sending it out tomorrow evening and I will inlude the FREE link for the Hibiscus flower cut file.
Here is a view of the entire layout. I used Bazzill, Bo Bunny and Basic Grey papers to complete this one as well. I also used an MS punch for the border strips.
Here is a closeup of the butterfly and flowers. The butterfly is from the Sentimentals cartridge. Sorry, I didn't have time to make one this time :-)
Here is a closeup of the title.
Here is another shot of the flowers and the butterfly.

PROJECT 3
This is what started all the summertime flower madness...lol! I created this card for the Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge Blog.

I created this digi stamp and colored it in with my Copics. I did hit the centers with just a touch of yellow stickles. So hard not to bling!

I used Bazzill and Bo Bunny papers to complete this. The finished size is 6 x 6.
Here is a side view to show the dimension. I popped the digi stamp from the rest of the layers to give the card some nice dimension.

WHEW, I think that covers it for today.
UPDATE: FREE Files no longer available. Please visit PCW for some reasonably priced cut file.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please be sure to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts! I sincerely appreciate seeing the comments!
Blessings,
Melin
