You Go Girl Card

Happy Tuesday crafty friends,
Hope it isn't too much of a struggle to go back to work today.  Today’s project was with my daughter in mind. She just started College and it has been interesting to say the least. So here is what I came up with.

you go girl card-490wad
My finished card size is 5 x 6.5. I started with a black cardstock base. I then used some red cardstock and then some champagne cardstock to cut out the brick overlay with my Pazzles Inspiration Vue. I then used my Cricut Expression and my Cricut Artbooking cartridge and cut out the white note paper. I then used the corresponding stamp and my black ink pad to stamp in the lines.

Here’s a closer look at the pennants. I used my Art Philosophy cartridge and cut out the pennants. I then stamped them with my Lagoon ink pad and my Cranberry Ink Pad.
I then used last month’s Stamp of the month set, Circus Alphabet and stamped the letters on the pennants with my black ink pad. I cut a piece of black cardstock and then matted that with some of the Chalk It Up paper pack paper and inked the edges of the patterned paper with my sponge and black ink pad. I layered that mat set onto the base of my card and then went to work adding the pennants. I used some foam tape under them to give them a little lift. I also added some bows using the  May Arts Burlap string to the edges of the pennants.

Here’s a closer look at the stamped sentiment. I used the Geek Is The New Chic stamp set and stamped it with my black ink pad. The cute little arrow came from the Chalk It Up Stickers Assortment.

Here is a look at my finished card. I used papers from the Chalk It Up Paper Pack.  The finished size is 5.5 x 4.25.  I used my slate ink pad for the sentiment and it came from the Artbooking cartridge.   The scribbled tab is from the Thanks Oodles Stamp set and stamped with my Lagoon Ink Pad.

The Chevron stamped image and the sentiment are from the Cricut Artbooking bundle which contains 3 stamp sets. I used my Flaxen Ink Pad. The tiny heart is from the Chalk It Up Stickers set. I added just a bit of stickles to the centers of the stars on the chevron image as well as the center of the star sticker. You can also see that I used the journaling pen to do some faux stitching around the mats.

Here is a closer look at the heart image. It is from the September SOTM. The Artiste cartridge has a compatible cut for this stamp.   I stamped it using my Smoothie Ink padI also added a little bit of Stickles to the inside image and used some foam tape to give it a little lift.

You Mean The World To Me Card

Happy Sabbath crafty friends,
Today I am sharing another card using the FREE* SVG Bundle.
you mean world to me card-490
Here is a look at my completed card. The finished size is 5.5 x 5.5. I started with a white cardstock base. I then cut a mat out of champagne cardstock and a piece of seaside paper pack. I then cut a pretty background using one of the SVG files in the FREE bundle (see below).

Here’s a closer look at the sentiment. I used my Slate ink pad and the You Mean The World To Me stamp set.  I stamped it onto one of the svg cuts.

Here’s a look at the base of the sentiment  mat. I cut the scallop in plain white cardstock and then used my Cotton Candy ink pad and the distressed backgrounds stamp set to stamp the “texture”.

flower centers-490
For the flowers. I once again used one of the files from the SVG bundle and then used a sponge and sponged some of the cotton candy ink pad  into the centers of my flowers. I then used my  Gold metallic marker  to draw in some of the veins. I also used my same gold marker to color in the pearls I used for the centers. I did also slightly curl the petals.

Here’s a side view. I added some foam tape under each of the flowers to show the depth.

I finished off the look by adding a border with layers of paper and then some Flaxen ribbon and some thin thistle ribbon.
