Free To Be Me & Artbooking Card

Hello crafty friends,
Hope your Thursday, First day of May is a good one so far. It’s the first day of the new month! Before I get to my crafty inspiration, I wanted to share today’s Psalm reading with you.

ל Lamed
89 Forever, O Lord,
Your word is settled in heaven.
90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations;
You established the earth, and it abides.
91 They continue this day according to Your ordinances,
For all are Your servants.
92 Unless Your law had been my delight,
I would then have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have given me life.
94 I am Yours, save me;
For I have sought Your precepts.
95 The wicked wait for me to destroy me,
But I will consider Your testimonies.
96 I have seen the consummation of all perfection,
But Your commandment is exceedingly broad.
Psalms 119: 89-96

What a tremendous passage. I hope that it inspires and blesses you greatly. Now onto my crafty project for today.

I created this card using paper from the new Free To Be Me Paper Collection available this month only through Close To My Heart. It is part of the National Scrapbook Month promotion this month. You can get this paper pack for only $5 with a $50 dollar purchase at Close To My Heart. Just head over and start shopping through my May Online Gathering Link

Here is a closer look at the strip of red paper I stamped with the chevron background stamp from the In The Background Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment with my olive ink pad and inked around the edges. I used some foam tape to give it a little lift.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA
Here you can see the arrow. I cut it from the Artbooking and then stamped it with my Crystal Blue ink pad. The decorative note strip was also cut out of my Artbooking cartridge and then stamped with my Cranberry Ink Pad. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch for the white border and some circle punches and a scalloped circle punch for the little decorative accent. Of course you can cut out similar shapes from your Artbooking cartridge.

Here is one final look at the card. I did use a fine tip sharpie marker to draw the faux stitches onto my card as well as some ribbon to tie it all together.

Last Day To Get A Great Deal!

Hello crafty friends,
Happy Hump Day!!! First, for those that are reading along with me in Psalms, here is our passage for today.
ך Kaph

81 My soul faints for Your salvation,
But I hope in Your word.
82 My eyes fail from searching Your word,
Saying, “When will You comfort me?”
83 For I have become like a wineskin in smoke,
Yet I do not forget Your statutes.
84 How many are the days of Your servant?
When will You execute judgment on those who persecute me?
85 The proud have dug pits for me,
Which is not according to Your law.
86 All Your commandments are faithful;
They persecute me wrongfully; Help me!
87 They almost made an end of me on earth,
But I did not forsake Your precepts.
88 Revive me according to Your loving-kindness,
So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.
Psalms 119: 81-88

I think most people can relate to this passage in that we have all been “at the end of our rope” I hope you take comfort in knowing that He is there and He will revive you so that you can keep His testimonies.

On to my crafty project for today. Today is the FINAL day to take advantage of the great promo Close To My Heart is offering, so don’t miss out! Details below. Here is a card I made with some of the beautiful Skylark paper you get in your new consultant kit.

The center embellishment is a retired embellishment from Close To My Heart Cottage Assortment. I also used some Mocha Opaques along the banner.

The Celebrate sentiment is from the   Cricut Art Philosophy bundle. I stamped it onto a piece of the same paper using my Barn Red ink pad. The center circles are the same patterned paper just flipped and inked on the edges with some Crystal Blue Ink . I also used that same ink on the little banners. I used some foam tape on several of the elements to give them a little lift and extra dimension.

Sending Sunshine And Hugs

Hello Crafty friends, I hope your Tuesday is a terrific one so far. First, for those following along with the Psalms reading.
י Yod
73 Your hands have made me and fashioned me;
Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.
74 Those who fear You will be glad when they see me,
Because I have hoped in Your word.
75 I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right,
And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.
76 Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort,
According to Your word to Your servant.
77 Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live;
For Your law is my delight.
78 Let the proud be ashamed,
For they treated me wrongfully with falsehood;
But I will meditate on Your precepts.
79 Let those who fear You turn to me,
Those who know Your testimonies.
80 Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes,
That I may not be ashamed.
Psalms 119:73-80
Today I am sharing a super easy and fun card I made for my Pazzles Design Team with you. I used one of the new Spellbinders Digital Die Small Octagon collection to create this card.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

I used some pretty paper from the DCWV Baby Girl Stack. It was so bright and cheery and was just the right color palette for a cheerful and “sunshiny” card. I started by welding the two bases together to create the card base. I cut that layer in plain white cardstock. I then cut the next layer in the patterned paper and then the next layer in some tangerine Bazzill cardstock. I then cut two more layers of patterned papers and then another layer of cardstock. Then I cut several more layers in graduated sizes in various colored cardstocks. The nice thing about these digital dies is that all the layers are already there for you. You simply pull out the layers you don’t need for your project and you are ready to roll. There is no guess work involved. I inked the edges of the various layers with some of my CTMH Inks from the Adventure Ink Pad set.

I then created a little tab with my sentiment by using my pen tool and then cutting it out. While this font wasn’t a single stroke font, it was thin enough and small enough that it worked out with the pen tool. There are lots of fonts out there that would potentially work, so be sure to take a second look at some of your fonts! I finished off the card by adding a bow of ribbon, a button and some twine to the center. Quick, easy and the perfect card to send a little sunshine and cheer someone’s way!

Treasured Moments Layout

Happy Monday crafty friends,
I hope you had a chance to get some crafting done this weekend. For those that are following along with the Psalms reading for the counting of the Omer, here is today’s passage.
ט Teth

65 You have dealt well with Your servant,
O Lord, according to Your word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
For I believe Your commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.
68 You are good, and do good;
Teach me Your statutes.
69 The proud have forged a lie against me,
But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.
70 Their heart is as fat as grease,
But I delight in Your law.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.
72 The law of Your mouth is better to me
Than thousands of coins of gold and silver.
Psalms 119: 65-72

Whew….what a passage of scripture. Some of it is hard to hear. Being a part of “mainstream” Christianity here in my beloved country the USA. Many teach that God is love….period….which for many may mean we should never suffer, have afflictions or discipline. We have a tendency to gloss over the idea, notion that we go through things and at the end, one major benefit to the trial is a closer relationship with out Lord and Savior Yeshua….Jesus Christ....refinement.

I have been praying for several people who are facing some really challenging health issues. A couple of people have some severe cancers, even one of my past teammates is currently going through chemo. As I prayed for them and others going through some emotionally and financially devastating trials, I was reminded of a couple songs. I found a video for one on You Tube. I am sharing the link in hopes that you will take a few minutes and listen and read the lyrics and find encouragement for whatever you or someone else you know may be going through. I hope it blesses your heart, the way it blesses mine.

 So here is my crafty project for today. A two page scrapbook layout I created with the Ivy Lane Paper Pack and coordinating  Ivy Lane Complements set.  I used my Art Philosophy cartridge for the cuts.
treasured moments-480wad
Here is a view of my completed layout. The decorative elements all came from the complements set.

flowers closeup-480
Here is a closer look at the pretty flowers. I cut the doily in some plain black cardstock. It can be found on page 68. I cut it at 8” The flowers were cut at sizes 1.5, 1.75 and 2”. I simply staggered and layered them. The flower can be found on page 50 of the handbook. I just added some gems to the centers. The green circle was cut at 5.75” and can be found page 21. Lastly, I cut the letters at 1.5”.

always label-480
Here is a closer look at one of the elements that come in the complements set. It is a pre-printed sticker. I like that it is a bit heavier weight. I simply added some foam tape to the back to give it just a bit of lift and done.
