We want to take a moment to share with you all the wonderful talent on our Fall 2011 Design Team. Without further Adieu…
Warning: This is a little lengthy, but there is a nice little something at the end :-)

NEW CWC DESIGNERS

adrian allenAdrian Allen
I started scrapbooking November 2008. Along came the Cricut in January 2010, the point of no return. I have not done any scrapbooking since, only card making, I created a blog and have a challenge blog, who knew!! I love making cards. I like trying new techniques and using all my different tools and products. I recently started with digi images and colored pencil and OMS, which lead to Copics. I love checking out YouTube and the blog world to see what great projects everyone is creating. An E2 and an Imagine have been added to the family. I truly know I am addicted, especially to paper. No matter what happens, I am definitely enjoying the ride!!

charlotte wilsonCharlotte Wilson
I live in Alabama and have been teaching kindergarten for 30+ years.  I have a B.S. in music education from Lipscomb University in Nashville TN. and I also hold an MA in early childhood education from The University of Alabama in Birmingham.  I serve on the Alabama Education Association Board of Directors, and am a past member of the National Education Association Board of Directors. I enjoy lobbying for public school employees and the children we teach.
I have a need to be creative and have been this way my entire life.  I guess it goes with being left--handed.  I have spent my life performing.  It began in  childhood with talent shows, singing and dancing.  It continued through high school and college with theater and musical productions.  And then as an adult in church and community theater.  I feel very blessed with the opportunities I have had in life using my talent.  I have performed throughout Europe and many places in the US.  Probably the most interesting is that I was performing at the Kennedy Center For Performing Arts the night of the Watergate break-in.  The Watergate Hotel is located across the street from the Kennedy Center. And I also performed with the Temps and the Tops, Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, and Fabian, in a salute to Rock and Roll at the closing ceremonies of the Bicentennial of the Stature of Liberty.  That was a blast.
Now, as for paper crafting, I guess I have made a career out of it as a kindergarten teacher.  I love using all kinds of medium and experimenting with different styles.  I also love sewing, hand and machine and enjoy incorporating it in my paper crafts.  I know that being on the Cooking With Cricut design team will push me to try all kinds of new things and for that I am truly excited.

court chambersCourt Chambers
My name is Court and I thoroughly enjoy crafting every chance I get. I love participating in challenges. I  started scrapbooking a little over 2 years ago and bought a baby bug for that purpose. However as soon as I got my Cricut I fell in love with card making. I have now upgraded to the expression, and am so glad I did. I have had a blog for about 6 months now and love hopping around to see everyone else’s creations. My creative style is cute and simple.

debbie butcher rr bw2Debbie Butcher
I am a full time working mother of 4 (two boys and two girls). I started paper crafting with scrapbooking about 10 years ago but really only started focusing on it for cards and gifts about 2-3 years ago when I purchased my first Cricut.  I love making little gifts for the staff at my boys small Catholic School, they are ALWAYS so appreciative and that makes it all worth it.  My wonderful hubby is very supportive (we just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary) and he even buys me crafting items every once in a while when I drop BIG enough hints!  Although it is hard working, taking care of the kids, making time for family and finding time for myself I rely on paper crafts as my release and it allows me to have some Mommy time after everyone is sound asleep. I also love reading crafting blogs, reality TV and baking when I get a chance (I loved cupcakes even before they were popular, LOL).

I am the wife to my best friend who happens to be a youth pastor and Mama to three little children.  I have been scrapbooking since I was in high school and love to do anything that involves creating from paper to yarn to paint!  I recently signed on as an independent consultant with Close To My Heart and since then have gotten much more involved in card making and paper crafting.  My favorite things to create involve my children.

When I finally opened it, I was hooked at first cut. That's when my inner Scrap-Beast was unleashed (LOL).
I'm not sure what represents my crafting style as yet, but I Love, Love, Love trying various techniques that I find on different Blogs, Youtube, StampTV and now... My Craft Channel! HeatherPHeather Peterson
Hello, my name is Heather Peterson. I live in Midvale, Utah with my supportive husband and our 2 fur kids. I actually started scrapbooking about 12 years ago when decorative scissors and stickers were the height of technology. I took a little hiatus from scrapping and then picked it up again after my wedding 3 1/2 years ago and have never looked back. I love being able to express my creativity and preserve all my precious memories at the same time. I love to experiment with new styles and techniques. And I LOVE my Cricut! I don't think I could make a scrapbook page or project without it!
I mostly do scrapbook layouts, but I do enjoy making cards, home decor items and wood crafts as well. As long as I am creating, then I am happy! And I am looking so forward to getting to know all of you!

I live in Las Vegas, NV and I've been SAHM for the past 5 years.  I started scrapbooking 8 years ago then discovered the world of Cricut, 2 years ago.  I absolutely LOVE, LOVE to paper craft!    My most favorite part of crafting is being able to make something special and unique for someone else.  I've given many albums, shadow boxes, framed invitations, decorations and other paper craft gifts over the years and now I'm excited to be able to share my passion with others.

jazmin mcghee-rr bwJazmin McGhee
I have been paper crafting for a little more than two years, mainly focusing on cards, but as of lately my projects have included layouts and altered projects. Blogging is also something that is new to me, but I love this "world" and all the people that I've met in it. My Cricut is my favorite tool, and I very rarely do any project without it. I love that I get to be a SAHM because it gives me lots of time to hang out with my two-year old son and craft.

jenny richardsJenny Richards
I started to scrapbook around nine years ago. My hubby worked out of town in Fort McMurray and I was very lonely and bored when I saw a add for a beginners scrapbook class at a local scrap booking store so I called my daughter and asked if she was interested and we decided to sign up for it and we have both been hooked ever since! I enjoy making all paper projects but my favorite by far is a good two page layout. I love to be able to put my memories down on paper. It is wonderful to be able to look back and remember those wonderful special times and have it down on paper and not have to rely on my memory. Last time I counted I had 118 Cricut cartridges and if I had to pick my favorite I would say it would have to be Storybook. It is used in just about every layout.
I have been married for 41 years, have two children and 6 grandchildren. I live in Canada and when I am not scrapbooking I am spoiling the family, playing Bingo or planning a vacation.

I have been doing crafts all of my life but have really found my passion in paper crafts.  I enjoy any time I get at my craft table, which has recently expanded to include the Imagine and Expression 2.  I even had to get another table!  I look forward to my journey in discovering the intricacies of these two!!   I would have to say my favorite thing to make are cards.  Any kind of cards, little gift cards, or occasion cards, or just because cards are great fun.  I am still developing my style.

larelyn SartiniLarelyn Sartini
Happy Crafting, everyone.  I'm Larelyn and I began paper crafting after I retired.  I purchased a Cricut in late 2008 so that I could make albums to commemorate my daughters' collegiate sport and academic careers.  I loved creating the albums, but after spending time on the message boards, I discovered the world of card making and blogging. Woohoo!  The guest bedroom quickly turned into a craft room and the true journey began.
When I first began, I joined Cricut Card Fairies.  We've sent cards to hundreds of people over the last 2 years, trying to bring joy, comfort, and encouragement into the lives of others.  It's a wonderful group of crafters and I'm still very involved.   It gives added purpose to the joy I feel as a paper crafter.
I'm so excited to be a part of Cooking with Cricut.  I truly believe that entering challenges and striving to become a design team member pushes you to become a more skilled crafter and helps you find your personal style.  My style, although I experiment with different ideas and techniques, is quite straightforward.  I love clean lines and finding the perfect papers to accentuate my design.  I love adding dimension - more through layering papers than adding embellishments.  But, I do love ribbon and adding a little bling here and there.
It's wonderful to share my designs with others.  I hope you find inspiration in our challenges.  May you find joy in your creative journey.

Linda TherrienLinda Therrien
My name is Linda Therrien and I live in Maine where I work full time for a company for 25 years. I'm also a mother of a 22 year old son who makes me proud to be his mother!  I have been crafting for over 30 years dabbling in card making and scrapbooking. I love photography and had a photography business on the side, taking senior pictures.  Two years ago I received my baby Cricut and I fell in love with a whole new way of paper crafting.  Last year I received my Expression and I LOVE IT!!  Currently I have over 30 cartridges and my library is always growing.  It has been so nice to meet people with the same passion for paper crafting, even though we have never really met in person, they have become very special friends.   My style of paper crafting I think is cute and simple.  I love to make projects that make me smile and I usually only add a few embellishments to compliment the image I am working with.   I am so excited and honored to be on Cooking with the Cricut design team, and I look forward to meeting and learning from new friends.

michelle rossignol rr bwMichelle Rossignol
My name is Michelle.  I am happily married to my best friend for almost 19 years.  We have three pretty awesome kids.  Our eldest son just graduated high school and is attending college.  I have a 17 year old son and 13 soon to be 14 year old daughter.  I was an elementary teacher for 7 years and have recently stepped down to homeschool.   I love being a wife and mom.
My love of paper crafting began back in the days of Creative Memories.  It introduced me into the world of scrapbooking and I have been hooked ever since.  Then I was invited to a Stampin Up party and my love of making cards grew.  I just LOVE stamps!  Gone were the days of Hallmark solutions on my PC to make tri-fold cards.  As a teacher, I heard of this machine called a Cricut and how many neat things it could do.  I saw the infomercial on tv, and instantly knew I needed one.  It would save so much money on making class room decorations and letters rather than buy them.  I told my husband and he bought me one.  I learned so much about this Cricut and how it works from the Cricut message boards.  I joined them and learned to make my cards even better and was introduced to all sorts of paper crafting.  I watch you tube videos for new techniques and am always searching and trying out new ideas.  I recently got into blogging this January.  I find myself searching blogs, entering challenges, and meeting some pretty inspiring crafters. (I would say ladies, but I don't want to leave those men out there that craft too)  I love to make cards, scrapbook, alter anything, and quilt.

nita turner rr bwNita Turner
I am a Jesus-Follower, a Wife to my best friend, and a Stay-at-Home Mom to two wonderful children (and one very spoiled puppy). I have always been crafty, and often use painting, sketching, and cross-stitching as a way to relax. I purchased my Cricut in March of this year mainly to help me with throwing fabulous Birthday parties for my kids, and to make teaching Sunday School a little easier. I began searching the internet for Cricut-tips, and discovered the wonderful world of card-making. :)

I started my blog almost two years ago and that opened up a completely new crafting world for me. I love playing with paper, it’s relaxing and it brings me so much joy.

CWC Senior Designers

jen b-wJen Hudson
I am a third generation native of Gainesville, Florida and the mother of four children.  I come from a long line of very talented women artists, seamstresses, and cooks.   In my "previous life" I worked for a 3600+ member United Methodist Church as the Facilities & Event Coordinator, Web Designer and go-to gal for 17 years.  Most recently I have worked for a local funeral home, a chef and various other clients creating web sites, marketing materials and other printed materials.

I live to create -- if I'm not engaged in the physical act of making something, I'm thinking about my next project!  I enjoy paper crafting, photography, reading, cooking and spending time with my family.  I purchased my first Cricut (a baby bug) in 2007 and was given an Expression for Christmas 2009 (thanks, Mom!). A Cricut Cake just joined the "bug" family at my house and I can't wait to put it to use.

I am a perfectionist by nature and am very detail-oriented.   I have a wicked sense of humor! ;)  I love to throw a good party and have put those talents to use coordinating weddings and other celebrations.  It is my hope to have an Etsy store up soon to sell custom invitations and party decorations; as well as baby onesies, tutus, and other apparel for the little ones.  It has been my honor to serve on Melin's Cooking With Cricut Design Team since October 2010.  I have been blessed beyond measure from the experience and in having found such a wonderful friend as Melin!

Melin Says: There are truly no words to accurately describe what a gift Jen is to the CWC team. Truthfully….she is the “Power Behind The Throne” She is responsible for so many behind the scenes task that keep CWC and it’s Designers on track that we are forever grateful for her presence here. When not “cracking the whip” on us…lol, she is busy designing for her party-catering company. Please be sure to keep track of all the wonderful things she will be doing very soon!

Okay, I wish you were all here so I could actually give you a cupcake, so giving you the little printable stamp is the next best thing.

Here is what the sheet looks like. They are pre-sized to fit perfectly in a 2” circle punch (larger ones) and a 1” circle punch. It is a pdf file so you can download and print it out and away you go :-) These cupcake picks were made in a snap. I just punched out the cupcake sentiments from a 1" circle punch and then I punched out a regular circle in 1.25" and then a Scallop in 1.75" and 2".

Here is what the pdf file looks like. There is also one image that is in jpg format for those that prefer it.

Christel’s Birthday Hop Day 1

Good morning Crafty friends,

Today I am participating in Christel a.k.a. Scrappin’ Sista’s Birthday Swap Blog hop. We’re celebrating Christel’s birthday with her.  Each month, she hosts swaps on her blog.
If you’ve arrived from Bonnie’s Blog you are in the right place.  If you just dropped by my blog today, we don’t want you to miss out.  Go ahead and go to Christel’s Blog to start from the beginning.

Before I share my project, let me just share a little about this amazing woman named Christel! I got to know Christel because she used to be one of our designers here at CookingWithCricut.com.

I have to tell all of you how truly blessed I have been to get to know her and call her friend and sister in Christ. She has no idea how many times her online presence and uplifting ways have blessed my heart! She even shared a “video” once of her singing a worship song!!!! She is a true song bird for the Lord Jesus Christ! Let me tell you that is one anointed voice!
Thank you for joining with us to celebrate her birthday :-)

So now for my project
100_5424
Here is a shot of the entire layout.

Here is a close up of the left page.

100_5426
Here is a close up of the right page.

100_5427
Here is a close up of the little bear by the violin. The violin is actually some clipart that I edited with the roses. I covered the whole thing with some Glossy Accents to give it a shiny and dimensional covering. It just doesn’t show up in the photo too well.

100_5431
Here is a close up of the title I created and again, I used some clipart covered with Glossy Accents and some Stickles.

100_5434
The violin on the tag is a smaller version of the same violin by the bear. This one also has Glossy Accents to give it a more dimensional look. It just didn’t photograph too well.

100_5452
Here is a close up of the full bodied bear. Her dress is made of fabric. Did you see the cute little cameo she is wearing? Plus all the photo mats are sewn.

Here is one more close up of the bear.
