Art Philosophy Bears Paper Piecing Layout

Happy Tuesday crafty friends,
I hope you’re Tuesday is a terrific one so far. For those following along with the Psalm reading for the counting of the Omer, here is today’s passage.

ט (Tet)
65 You have treated your servant well,
Adonai, in keeping with your word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
because I trust in your mitzvot.
67 Before I was humbled, I used to go astray;
but now I observe your word.
68 You are good, and you do good;
teach me your laws.
69 The arrogant are slandering me,
but I will wholeheartedly keep your precepts.
70 Their hearts are as thick as fat,
but I take delight in your Torah.
71 It is for my good that I have been humbled;
it was so that I would learn your laws.
72 The Torah you have spoken means more to me
than a fortune in gold and silver.

Psalm 119: 65-72

Blessings to you as you read and meditate on His word as we continue to count our days to Shavuot. Now for my project for today. I worked with some of the lovely paper from the Ivy Lane collection. I once again turned to my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and my Cricut Artiste Cartridge. here is what I came up with.

Here is a look at my completed layout. As I said, I used all papers from the Ivy Lane Paper Pack and the Ivy Lane Compliments. I did add some extra white paper for the photo mats and some cream and kraft colored paper for some of the bear pieces.

Here’s a closer look at one of the cute little bears. I created her from cuts from my Art Philosophy cartridge. I did also use some plain white paper to cut out the flower stems. I then inked them with some Pear ink from my Adventure Ink Pad set. I also used some Barn Red ink from the Enchantment Ink Pad set for the bear’s brown pieces. I also used some Pebbles Inc, dry decorator chalks for the bear’s facial features.

Here is a closer look at my title. Again, all of the die cuts come from the Art Philosophy cartridge. The little stickers in the centers of the flowers as well as the little flower on the heart are all on the Ivy Lane compliments set.

Here’s what you get with the complements sticker set.
Two sheets of heavy weight cardstock stickers.

Here is a closer look at the pretty label. This too is a part of the Ivy Lane Compliments set.

Here is a closer look at eh photo mat. I wrapped it with one of the Ivy Lane paper pack’s Zip strip. The zip strip is the other side of the information strip on all the CTMH decorative papers. Such a clever idea so that we can use EVERY bit of our paper! The charming label is adhered to the strip so a larger photo can easily slide underneath.

Here is a closer look at the other cute little bear.

One final look at the entire layout.

In case you missed it, here are the other two projects I made with the same sticker set and paper pack. I only added in some Black, White and or Kraft cardstock to complete them as shown.

For this one, I only added in some White cardstock and some kraft cardstock for the mats.

For this one, I only added some black cardstock for the mats, letters and oval lace cut.

So you see, for the price of the paper collection and complements, you can get a lot of scrappy bang for your buck. You don’t have to mat your photos with the mats I used, but let’s face it, what crafter doesn’t have some basic black, white and or kraft cardstock in their stash?

SOUS Die Cut Challenge Cricut Layout With Video

Hello crafty friends,
Happy Sabbath crafty friends! Hope you are looking forward to a day filled with crafty goodness! First for those following along with the counting of the Omer, Here is today’s Psalm 119 passage.

שׁ Shin
161 Princes persecute me without a cause,
But my heart stands in awe of Your word.
162 I rejoice at Your word
As one who finds great treasure.
163 I hate and abhor lying,
But I love Your law.
164 Seven times a day I praise You,
Because of Your righteous judgments.
165 Great peace have those who love Your law,
And nothing causes them to stumble.
166 Lord, I hope for Your salvation,
And I do Your commandments.
167 My soul keeps Your testimonies,
And I love them exceedingly.
168 I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies,
For all my ways are before You.
Psalm 119:161-168

What a beautiful passage of hope. I pray it blesses and fills your heart and mind with the unfailing love of such a merciful God. Now on to my project for today. I had the SOUS Die Cut challenge in mind when I created this layout. The current die cut challenge is to use a Tree in your project. You Make My Heart Sing Cricut Art Philosophy Layout With Blue Bird Piecings

This is a shot of the entire layout. I used some of the pretty paper from the Free To Be Me Collection available this month only in honor of National Scrapbook Month. Then I turned to my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and created all of the cuts. Everything came from the Art Philosophy cartridge and my Cricut Expression. I didn’t use any Gypsy, Cricut Craft Room or SVG files.

Here is a closer look at one of the cute little blue bird piecings I designed. You can also see the little flowers and butterflies. I cut those out in plain white cardstock. I then stamped them to give them some color and pattern. For the butterflies, I used the honey comb patterned stamp from the Sweet As Honey Stamp Set. For the flowers I used the polka dot pattern from the same set. I used some Topiary Ink from the Adventure Ink Pad set to
ink the edges of the puffs of grass  in the background.

The sunset and honey are from the Adventure Ink Pad set and the Indian Corn Blue is from the Enchantment Ink Pad setI then finished off the face with some chalking. For a detailed photo tutorial on how to create faces, check out my post HERE.

Here is a shot of the title sing. I used the Urban Alphabet Stamp set and some cranberry ink pad to stamp the letters onto a circle. I added those to a scalloped circle and used some foam tape to give them a little lift. I inked the edge of the heart die cut with some more Indian Corn Blue.

I did the same thing as above for this part of the title. I did use a retired stamp set to stamp the Make and My words.

Treasured Moments Layout

Happy Monday crafty friends,
I hope you had a chance to get some crafting done this weekend. For those that are following along with the Psalms reading for the counting of the Omer, here is today’s passage.
ט Teth

65 You have dealt well with Your servant,
O Lord, according to Your word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
For I believe Your commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.
68 You are good, and do good;
Teach me Your statutes.
69 The proud have forged a lie against me,
But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.
70 Their heart is as fat as grease,
But I delight in Your law.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.
72 The law of Your mouth is better to me
Than thousands of coins of gold and silver.
Psalms 119: 65-72

Whew….what a passage of scripture. Some of it is hard to hear. Being a part of “mainstream” Christianity here in my beloved country the USA. Many teach that God is love….period….which for many may mean we should never suffer, have afflictions or discipline. We have a tendency to gloss over the idea, notion that we go through things and at the end, one major benefit to the trial is a closer relationship with out Lord and Savior Yeshua….Jesus Christ....refinement.

I have been praying for several people who are facing some really challenging health issues. A couple of people have some severe cancers, even one of my past teammates is currently going through chemo. As I prayed for them and others going through some emotionally and financially devastating trials, I was reminded of a couple songs. I found a video for one on You Tube. I am sharing the link in hopes that you will take a few minutes and listen and read the lyrics and find encouragement for whatever you or someone else you know may be going through. I hope it blesses your heart, the way it blesses mine.

So here is my crafty project for today. A two page scrapbook layout I created with the Ivy Lane Paper Pack and coordinating  Ivy Lane Complements set.  I used my Art Philosophy cartridge for the cuts.

Here is a view of my completed layout. The decorative elements all came from the complements set.

flowers closeup-480
Here is a closer look at the pretty flowers. I cut the doily in some plain black cardstock. It can be found on page 68. I cut it at 8” The flowers were cut at sizes 1.5, 1.75 and 2”. I simply staggered and layered them. The flower can be found on page 50 of the handbook. I just added some gems to the centers. The green circle was cut at 5.75” and can be found page 21. Lastly, I cut the letters at 1.5”.

Here is a closer look at one of the elements that come in the complements set. It is a pre-printed sticker. I like that it is a bit heavier weight. I simply added some foam tape to the back to give it just a bit of lift and done.
