NSD Layout & FREEBIE

HAPPY (inter)National Scrapbook Day FRIENDS!!!
Hello crafty friends, I am thrilled to be sharing the scrapbook layout I created for the Paper House Productions Design Team today. We were asked to share a layout using our favorite technique that I am sharing with you is creating paper flowers.  We were given some questions so people can get to know us a little better.....
What’s your favorite type of paper crafting? For me, it is a toss up between scrapbooking layouts and cards. I really enjoy both!
Where do you go for inspiration? I find my inspiration often times when driving to work. Of course, I love to look at Design Seeds color swatches!
Where do you do your crafting? About 95% of my crafting is done in my home studio. What are your favorite crafting tools? I would have to say my favorite tool is my die cutting machine.
What are your favorite Paper House products? This is a tough one…I think it is a toss up between their 3D stickers and of course the paper.
What are your favorite colors to work with? Pink, Teal and Black…Love them…they make me happy!
How would you describe your crafting style? Classic. I love all genres though. I enjoy seeing all the different types. I am amazed at how well executed a clean and simple card can be as well as a rich layout dripping with multi-media elements!
Do you like it quiet while you work or do you have music or tv on? When crafting, I usually have music and or watch something on Netflix!
What’s your go to snack/drink while you craft? I’m a southern girl now…originally from Michigan, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my tea! That and almost any type of snack food!

These gorgeous papers are from the Paper House Sliced Paper Pad. I am a Paper Pad Junky!  I love that the professionals have taken the time to coordinate the papers in the pad for us already! This makes doing our layouts so much easier! We were asked to show what we love doing and for me, it’s creating the paper flowers.
Paper House Sliced Life Floral Scrapbook Layout
This sentiment was perfect for this layout. It is part of the paper pad. I simply cut it out and inked the edges with a little brown ink.

I fussy cut this pretty gold foiled banner out of one of the pieces of paper from the paper pad.
Flourished svg circle medallion
I cut this pretty decorative die cut element out of some plain white cardstock. I trimmed it along the edge o the base paper. I added that perfect little sicker embellishment to the center. It came just like that. I only added a foam square underneath to give it a little extra dimension.
Gold Painted SVG Butterfly Die Cut
Here’s a closer look at one of the butterfly die cuts. Again, I cut these out of plain white cardstock. I then sponged some gold paint onto them and when they were almost dry I shaped the wings to give them a little dimension. I used some glue dots along the bottom of the center only so they would be strongly adhered to the paper but allow me to shape and lift the wings.

Now for one of my FAVORITE THINGS to do when crafting and creating….making FLOWERS!  Yep, I love creating paper flowers. I have said many, many times on other blog posts, that I am not a green thumb by any stretch and the only flowers I seem to be able to grow well are paper flowers!!!!
Paper House SVG Paper Flower Dimensional Roses
Here’s a closer look at the flowers. I designed the SVG die cut file for these flowers. I then cut out a total of 7 layers in graduated sizes. I then layer them together and stagger each layer slightly. I then inked the edges just slightly with a red ink. Then I shaped the petals.
For the little white flowers, I cut them out of plain white cardstock and then lightly inked the edges with some light blue ink. I finished off my flowers with some blue gems for the white flowers and some brown gems for the red ones.
As a small token I would love to share the Flower File I created that I used to make my flowers!
