Card In A Box with Artbooking and FREE SVG File

Happy Sabbath crafty friends,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend! First, things first. Here is the reading in Psalms for today.
ז Zayin
49 Remember the word to Your servant,
Upon which You have caused me to hope.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
For Your word has given me life.
51 The proud have me in great derision,
Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.
52 I remembered Your judgments of old, O Lord,
And have comforted myself.
53 Indignation has taken hold of me
Because of the wicked, who forsake Your law.
54 Your statutes have been my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.
55 I remember Your name in the night, O Lord,
And I keep Your law.
56 This has become mine,
Because I kept Your precepts.
Psalms 119: 49-56
Now on for today’s project. Today is my beloved sister in law’s birthday. In true Melin form, I am a day late and a dollar short in sending out her card. But I thought I would at least post it on here. I had originally started on something else, but then was inspired to go ahead and give the famous Card In A Box a try. So I just had to take the time to make a cut file for it. This way I could just cut them out instead of having to think about the measurements, etc. So here it is.

So while I made the card in a box template to cut out on my beloved Pazzles, I still went ahead and used the Cricut and my new Artbooking cartridge for all the “fluff”. I started by cutting out the base of the box in some kraft cardstock.

I then cut the corresponding panels out of some Skylark Paper. The paper cut like butter on my Pazzles and came together very quickly. SIDE NOTE: I do have photos of building the template. I have to edit them and then add them to this post a bit later. For those who may be unsure how the box goes together.

Card in a box cut file includes the card in a box base and the matching panels. The available formats are: AI, DXF, EPS, GSD, KNK, STUDIO, SVG and WPC. These should work with most electronic die cut machines out there including those who use the new Cricut Explore machine.

All of the decorative cuts are from the Artbooking cartridge bundle. . I cut the butterflies at 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 and 2” each. I cut the cupcake at 3” and I cut the celebrate title at .75”. Oh and that lovely note tag in the back was cut at 4”.  SIDE NOTE: All of these were cut with the REAL DIAL SIZE KEY. That had a corresponding stamp in the Artbooking bundle. I used the saddle ink to stamp the image and then wroth my note with a brown fine point sharpie I had on hand. The butterflies were cut with some Blue cardstock and kraft cardstock. I then inked the edges of the butterflies with my Lagoon Ink. I did use the Lagoon ink that is in the Adventure Ink Pad set.

They are the little square inks and they are slightly different than the big CTMH ink pads. I used the Sweet leaf and crème brulee from the Whimsy Ink Pad set for the candle. I stamped the heart shape that is also part of the Artbooking Bundle in Sweet leaf. I then used the 4 You banner from the remarkable wreath stamp set and stamped that in Lagoon ink.

  5. Thank you for the file. I am a Cricut Explore user and I don't see any information on how I am to size the pieces. When I bring it into the design space it doesn't come in as your size you made it. Can yu provide that to me?
    Thank you Kathleen
