Good morning crafty friends,
Thank you so much for coming by this wonderful morning. Today I have a special layout to share with you. It is special because I actually have a personal picture on it. Typically when I create a page, it is either for a page kit sample or I haven’t decided what picture will be on it, so they usually have a photo mat. So here it is:
SHE Is Amazing Layout
She….Is Amazing...And she truly is!!!
This is a layout done for one of my two nieces who just graduated from High School. This is my niece Tori. She is as beautiful inside as she is out. She has grown up to be such a beautiful God’s girl. I commend her for trying to stay true to the call to serve the Lord Most High, in spite of today's world.
The paper I used comes from the Die Cuts With A View Four Seasons Stack and the Rustic Stack.

These are the beautiful papers from DCWV that I used.
Along with some Cream, White, Blue cardstock.
Here is a close up of the various pretty Ribbon flowers I created. YEP that's right!
ALL the flowers on this page are made from RIBBON :-)
Closer look at the little flower cluster on the top right of the photo. Once again, these are little rolled ribbon roses in off white and yellow ribbon and the Blue “Carnation” is made from blue ribbon.

Here is a closer look at the pretty corner bracket. This is a cut file I created and cut in plain white cardstock. I inked it with a combination of Gingerbread Dew Drops and Chestnut Roan Inks and then lightly brushed it with some Gold Smooch Ink.
Here is a closer look at the title. I cut the “She” letters and then inked with Gingerbread Dew Drops and Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink and “smoochified” them.
The “Is amazing” was printed out and then inked around the edges.
Here is a closer look at the butterfly. It was already on the paper
and glitter glazed so it matched perfectly!

Here is a closer look at the fence. I cut it in cream and gently inked the edges.
Inking Details
This is an example of how the Flourish, Corner Bracket and Title were Inked
Started with a plain white cardstock die cut
Inked them with a combination of the Gingerbread dew drop and the Chestnut Roan Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink. I lightly “pounced” the ink to get a stippled and not scrubbed effect. The two different inks is essential in giving the look more depth.
Here is the die cut once finished inking. You can see I did not give it a %100 percent coverage. I wanted to give it dimension by leaving varying shades of the inks.
Next, I “smoochified” my die cut by lightly brushing some Gold Lame Smooch Ink.
Here is a view of the “smoochified” and inked die cut. A far cry from the plain white
“Carnation Ribbon”
Flower Tutorial
Flower Tutorial
Start With Ribbon approximately 14” Width of my ribbon is 1 3/8”
Fold Ribbon in half Lengthwise. This ribbon is Acetate so it made the crease easily. For other ribbon, you may have to press it so the crease will stay. You could also choose to skip this step for a more “puffy” petal.
Unfold the ribbon and apply adhesive to one edge of the ribbon. Next, fold the ribbon back over and seal the two ends together.
This step is optional. I chose to fold the ribbon in half after
it was sealed shut to make the next step go a bit quicker.
it was sealed shut to make the next step go a bit quicker.
Begin cutting the ribbon in little strips. Be sure to cut the end that is folded and do not cut all the way through. Leave enough so that as you roll and work with the ribbon, it doesn’t “tear off”.
When finished cutting
Apply another line of adhesive along the bottom. The part that you haven’t trimmed.
Start rolling. Be sure to leave the bottom flush as you roll.
What the ribbon flower looks like once it is rolled together.
Back side of ribbon to show that you try to keep the bottom flush as you roll.
Finished Ribbon Flower
For the Folded ribbon rose flowers, I have a couple of videos. One using the ribbon and one using paper. The paper one is a little better quality video as I am still learning how to do the videos
