Cheapo Dies Butterfly Card Terrific TuesDIES #3

Hello crafty friends!
Melinda here with you today for my third Terrific TuesDIEs post!  Today’s project features the Exclusive Cheapo Dies Butterfly Die! Here’s a look at my card.

My card is a top folding A2 sized card. My card base is white cardstock. The patterned papers are from the Doodlebug Bunnyville Paper pad.

BUTTERFLY W ACETATE BACK

The featured die is this pretty butterfly die that is a Cheapo Dies exclusive. I started by cutting out a few of them in plain white cardstock. I then used my Chameleon Colored pencils to color the top layer. Once I finished coloring it, I glued it to a piece of acetate.  This picture shows what it looked like at this point.

Once it was glued to the acetate, I cut it out. I then added some fine glitter to the top of the acetate. I love how it turned out semi translucent once the glue dried.

I then used four of the square cross stitched dies from the square  cross stitched die set. I cut out 4 corresponding mats from the patterned papers. I then simply staggered and layered the dies from largest to smallest and used some foam tape to give them some lift. Once they were stacked, I added the butterfly to the top.

I finished off the look of the card with some pretty ribbon, a bow and a nice sentiment. I cut the sentiment out with the smallest scallop stitched oval from the scallop stitched oval set.
