#TBT Steampunk Masculine Valentine Card By Melinda Beltran Revisited

Happy Thursday crafty friends,
Today for my TBT post, I am going to share a card I made 3 years ago. Whew...that is so hard to believe when I think about it!  Where has the time gone?! So here is what I am sharing.

#TBT Steampunk Masculine Valentine Card Melinda Beltran
I made this card for my beloved. I find at times that I struggle with making masculine cards and I have heard and read many other card makers - paper crafters do as well.

Here is a closer view. Head over to my original post There you will find several photos and plenty of details on how I put this together. I have also checked and updated the links to the various products used.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your crafty time with me.

Faith Journal: Week 2 Romans 8 38-39

Happy Sunday crafty friends,
Today I am sharing my faith journal page from this past week.  It was week 2. I know as this goes, I will always be sharing after the week is over, but if you want to join along, please feel free to join the Facebook Group(link below). This past week the scripture focus was on Romans 8:31-38.

Here’s a look at my completed journal artwork. I created the frame, the cross filigree svg cut file and the banner at the bottom all in my Pazzles software.

Here is a picture of the cross. I cut it out in plain white cardstock. I then used my ink and embossing powder to give it the copper look.

Here is a photo of what the embossed cross looks like. I purposely left the finish bumpy and with some imperfections. I was thinking about the song…the “Old Rugged Cross”. I did add a few Queen and Company gems I had in my stash.  I once again used papers from the Paper Studio Kirby Teesdale Stack. I inked the edges of the ragged edge mat with some Chocolate ink. The oval pink and kraft mats as well as the green patterned paper are inked with some Cat’s Eye Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink.

Here is a closer look at the banner. I printed it out on plain copy paper. It wasn’t intentional but instead of printing it out on cardstock, I thought this worked well. I just bent the sides. I added some foam adhesive under the banner to give it an appropriate amount of lift.

Here is another look at the embossed cross. You can see I added some burlap ribbon underneath. I just cut some from a 2”wide spool and then trimmed the wired sides. I then pulled out a couple of layers of the threads to give the edges a bit of a frayed look.

Here’s a view of the journal with my writing for the week. It was a challenging week physically and often times when you are setting your feet on a steady course towards the Lord, you inevitably come against adversity.  But I am so grateful for His Love and steadfastness towards us.

This week's scripture: Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.

HOWEVER, do yourself a favor and read the entire chapter. This is one of my absolute favorite passages of scripture. It is IMMENSLEY INSPIRING!!!

DCWV Butterfly Garden and Pazzles Floral and Gold Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends,

So glad you stopped by!
Side note: This was supposed to post yesterday but apparently I didn't set it up right. So sorry about that. Please bare with me as I shake the dust off my blogging skills...lol!

Today I am sharing a pretty, floral, soft pink and gold card I created.

DCWV Butterfly Garden SVG Cut File Card
Here’s a look at my completed card. The finished size is 5x6.5. I started by using a file set I created exclusively for the Pazzles Craft Room. If you are a member of the craft room then you can download this for free as part of your membership. If not, you may want to consider joining. All of their files are in SVG format so they will work on most craft cutters and not just the Pazzles!

Here’s a closer look at the different layers. The papers are from the DCWV Butterfly Garden Stack. The rest of the paper is white cardstock.  This shot also shows how I used some foam tape underneath the layers to give them a little lift. Like one of the designers I follow says, “When in doubt….pop it out”!

Paper Flowers SVG Cut Files
You can see in this photo, my flowers and leaves all started as plain white cardstock. I inked the edges of them to add just a touch of soft color. I used the Martha Stewart Chalk inks pad set.  For the center die cut, I used my CTMH Slate ink pad and a sentiment from a retired CTMH stamp set to stamp the sentiment. I also inked the edge of the die cut with more of the light pink ink from the Martha Stewart Chalk Inks. You can see I added a couple of pearl stickers from Paper Studio.

DCWV Butterfly Garden Stack Card
For the centers of the flowers, I used some Tsukineko Galaxy Gold ink to ink the little die cut and then used a gold sequin and a little dot of Bisque liquid pearls.  For the corner die cut, I used the same Tsukineko Galaxy Gold ink pad as it was also cut in plain white cardstock.

Here is one last look at the completed card. I hope my recipient will like it.
