Hello Owl Card

Happy Tuesday crafty friends,

Today I am sharing another card I created with this month’s Stamp of The Month Set… What A Hoot. You only have through the end of the month to order this super fun set. It is only $5 with a qualifying $50 purchase from my Close To My Heart link.

Here is a look at my quick and easy card.The card is a 4.25 x 5.5 size. The base of the card is kraft cardstock. I then layered it with a white cardstock mat and then used a piece of Lagoon cardstock along with a piece of patterned paper from the Brushed paper pack.  I used my Artbooking cartridge for the pretty frame.  I created a quick and distinct border with some of the pretty purple shimmer trim.

Here is a closer look at my Owl. I used my black ink to stamp his pieces. I used the SVG cut files I created to easily cut out the pieces.  I used my journaling pen to create the “zentanglish type” pattern on his tummy. I then used my Shin Han Twin Touch Markers to color him in.  I used my Crystal Blue ink pad to stamp in his eyes and also to sponge some ink around the circle center of the die cut frame. Lastly, I added a simple little sentiment using the Chalk It Up Assortment stickers. These stickers are really cute and are a little Dimensional with a slight puffiness to them. Really cute.

Dream Big Owl Card

Whew, it has been a while since my last post. So much going on but I think we will be getting into a routine here on the home front. This will help me to share with you all a little more consistently. Today I wanted to share a card I created with this month’s Stamp of The Month Set… What A Hoot. There is only one week left in which to order this super fun set. Only $5 with a qualifying $50 purchase from my Close To My Heart link.

Here’s a look at my finished card. It measures 5 x 6.5. I started with a white card base. I then layered a black and pink (cotton candy cardstock) mat. I then used some of the Scaredy Cat paper for the top mat.  I added a mat with a stamped background under my completed Owl. The sentiment….Dream Big is stamped with  my black ink pad and from the Your Own Kind of Wonderful Stamp Set.

Here is a closer look at the pretty little flowers. They are part of this week’s FREE With Any Purchase SVG cut file Bundle (See Bundle). I started by cutting them out in plain white cardstock. I then stamped them with my In Distressed Backgrounds stamp set

using my Lagoon Ink Pad. I had some plain white pearls in my stash so I used my Tender Pink  Touch Twin Marker and colored the pearls. This gave them a nice soft pink color to match my card.

Here’s a closer look at my owl. Once again I used my Touch Twin Markers to color my pieces in. I like how well the colors blended together. I used my  Cherry Pink Marker, Tender Pink, Peony Purple Marker and my Lavender marker along with my colorless blender marker. I then used my Thistle ink pad to stamp in the eyes. The pieces to my owl were cut from the matching SVG cut file set I created for this stamp set.  You can also see in this photo were I used my Lagoon Ink Pad as well as my distressed backgrounds stamp set to stamp the hounds tooth pattern. I matted that onto some black cardstock.  I used some foam tape to give the mat the owl is on a little extra dimension. Lastly I used some miscellaneous ribbon I had in my stash for the simple border and bow.
