Good morning crafty friends,
I hope your weekend was a wonderful one. Summer is beginning to wind down and for many, kids are back in school and fall schedules have commenced. It can be a difficult time to squeeze some crafty time out of these busy, busy schedules. Today I am sharing a couple of cards I created for this month’s
IFTL recipients. My schedule has been going at a break-neck speed lately like many of you and finding time to craft has been tough at best. Well, last week I was in the middle of doing some designing and file creation on my beloved Pazzles when all of a sudden the electricity went out. Because I work on a laptop, what I was doing was fine, but everything else went out. I was at a point where I was going to test cut some files on my PI and so that TOTALLY changed my plan. I walked away thinking surely the power would come back on in a few minutes….well, it didn’t. So after a half hour of “waiting”, I decided I better switch gears and do something else. So, I decided to see what I could come up with not using any “electricity” to create my project. I used to do these types of projects more often, and used to call them….unplugged. I also used to have a page of these projects that I called…punches and pretties…mostly because that is what I used..punches and die cuts along with some “pretty”embellies. Well I pulled out some of my punches, stamps, etc. and this is what I came up with.
I used the gorgeous
DCWV Linen Closet Stack as the basis for these cards. They are very simple Easel cards and the “inside” is left blank per the
IFTL directives.
Here's a closer look at one of the cards closed.
Here is a view of one of the cards. I used a simple paper doily along with some Robin’s Nest Dew Drops for the outer layer to the scalloped punched circle. The Sentiment is from the
CTMH Stamp Set: and I used the Whisper Ink which matched the DCWV Linen Stack paper beautifully.
Here is a closer look at the dew drops and the simple paper doily.
This shot is trying to show you how pretty the paper is with a glitter-glazed finish…love it. The stems were from a Fiskars punch and the flowers were some EK Success Daisy punches.
Here is what I used to create these "unplugged" cards.

I really did enjoy creating without any electricity. While I can’t imagine my life without my beloved
Pazzles Inspiration, I am now on a mission to dig out all my old punches and dies and do some more “unplugged” projects too!
Thank you so much for sharing your crafty time with me!
