Cartridge Showcase: Sophisticated

Hello everyone, I am Charlotte,  welcome you to our cartridge showcase featuring the Sophisticated cartridge by Teresa Collins. This showcase is a bit different. Instead of one designer featuring a specific cartridge, we have opened it up to different designers.

First we have these adorable little birdhouses from the ever so talented Jen.

Jen purchased the birdhouses at Michaels.  And while there she found a great 6x6 paper stack from Paula Deen.  Aren't the papers just so pretty on the bird houses!!  Jen sealed the papers with a little Mod Podge.  The pretty damask image on the roof is a perfect  welcome to any little feather friend.  The second birdhouse  is topped with a pretty bird wearing a crown.  This must be the birdhouse for royalty!!   Such great projects Jen!!

Now Jen also made this wonderful card using the Sophisticated cartridge.

Jen cut this wonderful three layered frame from the Sophisticated cartridge as well as the pretty flourished floral branch. Don't you just love the addition of the pretty little pearls in the center of the flowers?   Jen used the Cake Basics cartridge for her Happy Birthday sentiment.

Please visit Jen at her blog, Musings of a Crafty Mom where you will see even more of her amazing talent.

I have a few cards to share with you today as well.

This is a little A2 card I made using papers from my stash.  They are inked with a little tea dyed lace from Tim Holtz.  The frame was actually cut and embossed with a Spellbinders die.  I topped it with this wonderful floral branch from the Sophisticated cartridge.

This too is an A2 card.  The papers are from a K&Co stack.  I used a Martha Stewart heart border punch and topped it with this wonderful bird border cut from the Sophisticated cartridge.  I just think it is perfect with the bird paper.

This little A2  begins with an embossed pale pink mat.  The pretty lock is from Sophisticated and is  made with  music paper from The Paper Studio.  It is shadowed with ecru paper and inked in pale pink.  The white keyhole is embossed with Swiss Dots and inked in gold.  I used some antique laces for soft texture.  And then added a pale pink crinkle ribbon with a gemmed brad.  The little gems are from Recollections and the "Hello" sentiment is from an Inkadinkadoo stamp set.

Here is an A9 card.  All of the cuts on the card are from the Sophisticated   I really enjoyed cutting the border in the three colors and layering them.  The chandelier is topped with a sheer bow and inked in brown.  The word "Friends" is also cut from the Sophisticated cartridge.

I would so love for you to visit me anytime at my blog, A Little Bit Of Detail.

MEMORIES LAYOUT

Melin created this layout featuring all cuts from the Sophisticated cartridge. The frames, flowers photo corners, flourishes and Memories Title were all from this cartridge.  The background paper is from Quick Quotes Je' Taime line (discontinued). I also used QQ Inks to ink the flowers and the edges of the little frames.

SWEET GIRL

Once again, I used the Sophisticated cartridge to create all the cuts on this layout...Including the cute little bears. I will give details on another post, soon :-)

We are so glad you dropped by today.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new SVG-Cut File Link up.

Totally Tags n' ATC's - Something New-Free Graphic

Good morning crafty friends, Suzanne of Cricut Crafting Grammy. I am so excited that Melin and the Design Team at My Paper Crafting  are starting a new post for Thursdays, Totally Tags n' ATC's. Beginning today February 21, Thursdays will be the day to explore different themes, elements, techniques or embellishments.   This week we are using ribbon on our tags and ATC's.  There is no restriction on what tools  are used to create these tags or ATC's.    It could be a die cut machine, punches, stamps, etc.  The sky is the limit.  However if the Design Team uses Digis or SVG's they will be from Paper Crafting World.

As a side note, if you don't know what an ATC card is,
here is an interesting definition from Wikipedia.
Artist trading cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern trading cards baseball cards, or 212 by 312 inches (63 mm × 89 mm),[small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.[The ATC movement developed out of the mail art movement and has its origins in Switzerland. Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals or cloth. The cards are usually traded or exchanged.

I will be coordinating the post for Thursday and can hardly wait to see what all the awesome Design Team members create.  I for one have not always been a big tag maker but have recently started exploring tags as a new way to express creativity, try new techniques and use my scraps.  I hope you will join us each Thursday here at My Paper Crafting for
Totally Tags n' ATC's.
