NOW, onto my Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Creation for this week.
Our assignment for this week was: The GREAT OUTDOORS!
So here's my take on this challenge. I created the little Smore Guy from Camping Out. The letters were from Simply Sweet.

Here is a close up of the cute little "Cricut Version" Smore Guy!

Now here is my version. I used the Simply Sweet Cartridge for the lettering and created the Smore Guy in this one. I had done him originally and then decided to try and find cuts on my carts that were close enough to create a "Cricut" version.
Here's a closeup of my original version. This one can be cut from the Cricut with SCAL or MTC software and no cartridge.
Well that's it for today. Be sure to drop by the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and enter your Great Outdoors Project! There is a nice prize up for grabs!

Thank you for stopping by :-) I will be back soon with more fun stuff! Please stay tuned!

Memories To Preserve Layout using Preserves Cartridge

Hello Everyone,
Here is another quick post today!
This is a layout using the Preserves Cartridge. I also used the MS Deep Edge Punch and an EK Success Slim Line Border Punch.
The word Preserve comes from the Cartridge as well. I just cut off the "s" as it was plural in the cut out :-)
Here is a closeup of the pear and raspberries. I inked them with different chalk inks and then I used Fired Brick Distress Stickles on the Raspberries. It gave them some nice dimension and sparkle without being too "glitzy".
Here is a close up of the Raspberrry cluster. I used the VersaMarker Watermark pen to give the leaves their lines.
Here is a view of the other Pear and Raspberries.
Hope you are inspired to "Preserve" Your memories!

So here's a look at the files!
Here is a closeup of the blossoming tree file. The file is setup so the pens will "color in" the flowers, trunk, leaves and barrel.
Here is an 8x8 page. It is setup to do the stitching and outline of the roses. I then colored them in with my Copic Markers.
Here is a closeup of the rose flourish. I used their metallic pens.
Here is the tulip file. The tulips, leaves and stem are setup to be "colored in" by the pens.
Here is a closeup of the rose file. I drew the outline with the pens and then colored it in with my Copics. I love how you can use your Copics and the ink won't smear!

Cri-Kits.com Winner & Cutting Cafe' Giveaway

Hello everyone,
I apologize for the delay in posting the winner of the Cri-Kits.com pen set and pen holder. I had some "technical" difficulties. But before I announce that...Here is another giveaway for this week!
THE CUTTING CAFE' is sponsoring a GIVEaway!

The Design Team Members are each allowed to showcase a project and giveaway a set or two of files from the Cutting Cafe's amazing library of printable stamps and cutting files...WHOO HOO!

SO I get to giveaway TWO, ...that's RIGHT TWO (2)sets...So there will be 2 Lucky Winners Drawn This Week!

To enter for a chance to win here:
  1. You must be a follower of my blog...and then like last time, just...
  2. Leave a comment on any posts I make this week!
That's it! Super easy! EVERYONE can join in on the FUN! Giveaway entries will be good until Saturday at 5pm EST.
So Here is my first of a couple of projects this week using the Cutting Cafe's great files!

This is a view of the entire layout. I used their Tulip border and daisy border cutting files. I also used their "If Friends Were Flowers Sentiment" From their Beautiful Blooms Set.
Here is an angled view. I wanted to show that I raised the frame with double foam tape. This added extra dimension to the project. I also cut the tulip border in the same colored paper as the background. It is very subtle but in person it is so pretty. This technique is called "Faux Embossing".
I added this cute butterfly. It is the butterfly from the Indie Art Cricut Cartridge. I "drew" it with my Cri-Kits.com pens and then cut it with my Cricut. I wanted to show you that this can be done with your Cricut and cartridges as well. I did use the Gypsy to get my cut line very close to the draw line. I am attaching the Gypsy file below for those that have the Gypsy and the Indie Art Cartridge.
Please be sure to hop over to the Cutting Cafe' site and check out all the other participants and enter their giveaways too! How fun...Lot's of chances to win :-)

Okay speaking of winning....
Here is Random.org's winning pick from among the comments last week.
So the winner.....of her choice of pen set and pen holders is......

Rockin Robin Caldwell....She Said
"Waht a sweet little card!!! I sooo want these pens. The butterflies are so wonderful. I will have to try to figure out a "mod" in the meantime to use the mini markers that I have, with my current blade holder. Wish me luck!! Hugs, Rockin Robin C".

YEAH Robin! Just email me and I will give you information on how to claim your prize!!!!

OKAY ONE LAST TIDBIT.....
Along with the Giveaway, Cri-kits.com was giving everyone a chance to save by offering a fabulous 5% discount on any orders placed through the 7th....BUT they have decided to extend it through the 14th!!!! WHOO HOO!

So if you weren't lucky Rockin Robin and you want to get your hands on some of these, you can STILL SAVE! Rene's Cowboy Invitation

Hello Everyone,
I know we have been showcasing the Cri-Kits.com gel pens for the last week. But this post is for my Design Team assignment for PIO (Pile It On Challenge Blog). Our assignment was: A Little Bit Country and Rock N' Roll.

So On To The Project
Here is the invitation I made for a friend who is throwing a baby shower. The boots on the background paper are from the new Kah Wink E Dink digital stamp collection!
Here is a view of the inside of the invitation. I blurred out the personal information for this post. It really doesn't look like that :-)
Here is a close up of the cute Cowboy bear image yours truly created :-). I glued some hemp down for his lasso. I love how it gives a little dimension to the project.
So here are the challenges this project applies to:

PIO: A Little Bit Country and Rock N' Roll
DaisyDoodles: Western Theme
ABC Challenge: A is for August, The shower is in August :-)

Please feel free to leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the Cri-Kits.com gel pens. I will be back later today with the last in our series of projects and FREE files for our wonderful giveaway!
