Cri-Kits Pens Giveaway & FREE DNC Files

Hello Everyone,
I am so excited and thrilled to share our giveaway sponsor this week!

Visit them today: CRI-KITS.COM
They are giving away a pen set and pen holder to one lucky blog follower this week!

These pens work in your Cricut and also in your Pazzles Inspiration Machines! I have to tell you, I am so in love with this whole print and cut concept. It's like being able to create digi stamps with your cutting files and then cutting them out!
There are several different sets to choose from with SWIRL ones available too.

Let me just say, Like most of you, I have had my share of gel, glitter pens over the years. I was pretty skeptical about these. I thought they wouldn't draw smoothly, would skip or would just be plain dried up and out!

But after playing with these, I have been very pleasantly surprised! They draw so smooth and with the little magnets on the ends, they pop right into place in their custom holder.

Okay to enter for your chance to win....you need to do the following:
  1. You must be a follower of this blog....thanks so much!
  2. You need to leave a comment on any post from today through Sunday, Augus8th, 2010.
That's it! I will be posting everyday this week, so that will give you up to 7 chances to enter to win! One random winner will be selected from among the posts!

PLUS
Cri-Kits.com has agreed to give you an additional 5% off their already slashed prices this week only! Use the special coupon code:

GETCOOKING for any CRI-KIT.com purchases you make through August 7

AND

As a special bonus, if you order from them and use the coupon code: GETCOOKING, I will personally send you 5 special "draw and cut" designs I have made especially for this!
I will post pictures of the 5 special designs in a couple of days!

OKAY Now for my first project!

Okay, I made two things. I made a card and a tag.
Here is a closeup of the card. I designed the rose and then added the wording and the oval and oval scalloped shape. I used the Glitter gel pens to "draw the rose and the sentiment. I then cut it out with my cutter and then cut a matching scallop oval to layer behind the draw and cut. Worked like a charm!
Here is a close up angled view to show how the glitter shimmers through even after coloring the rose in with my Copics.
Here's a closer view of the tag.
Here is a closeup of the Star "Medallion" I made. I drew it with my pink glitter gel pen and then cut it out with my cutter. I colored it in with my Copics and then hit the whole thing with my Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink. I was inspired for the design by the pretty Basic Grey Patterned Paper I used.
Here is a closeup of the rose that I "drew and then cut". I used the glitter gel pens as you can see by the angle of this photo. You could set your "cut" lines even closer to the object so that no white shows. It was very accurate.
Here is a different angle of the same rose. You just don't see the shimmer from this angle.
So be sure to leave a comment on each post this week and become a follower to win!

Please keep checking back each day for a new project and a free "Draw and Cut" DNC file

So where are the FREE Draw and Cut Files?!!!

FCCB #21

Hello Everyone!

Happy, Happy Monday! I hope you're ready for a "FANTABULOUS" week!

Here is my project for this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!

Our assignment was to make something BBQ or Summertime Food Related.
So I made this super cute layout using the BLOCK PARTY Cartridge.
Pretty much all the die cuts on here came from that Cartridge.
Please be sure to stop by FCCB and check out all the other DT's Yummy Projects!
Here is a closeup of the title. Look at the tiny BBQ title on the bottle. It cut out really good in my "E" inspite of its TINY size!
Here is a closeup of the hotdog. Notice the ribbon border. I used that and "Frayed" it to give it a more "Country" type look.
Here is a closeup of the pie. It is on a chipboard strip. I painted it with two different colors and then distressed it. I wanted it to look like old, painted wood.
Here is an angled view to try and show you the chipboard frame. I painted a whole chunk of chipboard at once and then cut them into strips. I stapled the "planks" together with a colored staple. The picture just doesn' show how neat this element turned out.
Here is an angled view of the photo frame. I made it the same way as the tag holder frame above.
A lot of fun to make! As I said before, the Pie, Hamburger, Watermelon Slice, Title and Hotdog all came from the BLOCK Party Cartridge.
ALSO: Fantabulous Cricut is Sponsoring a MINI ALBUM CONTEST! Up for grabs is the Celebrations Cricut Cartridge!!! Way COOL! Go HERE to get the details and to enter!
Please check back later this evening. I will be posting again with my NEW giveaway and some great FREE stuff too :-)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a "Fantabulous" Day!

School Layout Cricut

Hello Everyone,
I need to share the winner of the Christmas Layout Guessing game. But first I wanted to share a project I just completed. I used the wonderful printable stamps from the CUTTING CAFE'

Her PRINTABLE STAMPS are so easy and versitile! The Welcome Back, Apple, Apple Border, Notebook papers and Star Student are all from there!

Please take a moment to go and check out all the wonderful files they have!
Here is a close up of the Welcome Back Stamp. I layered it with the apple file. I colored it in with my Copics.
I created this apple border by layering the cute apple file. I colored them with my copics. I created a pocket out of the apple border strip. I printed out the little notebook papers and then hand wrote topics. They are a great size for tons of journaling as well as putting additional photos on the back.

Again, please take a moment to visit Regina's CUTTING CAFE' You won't be disappointed!

Now for the WINNER.

Here's The Layout. There were supposed to be two winners. One to guess the amount of cartridges used Two You had to guess the right cartridges used ALL of them. If they did, they would get the layout. No one got the second one right...BUT the first one had a WINNER!

These are the cartridges I used.
  1. Reindeer, lights and trees were From Create a Critter
  2. Antlers and parts of the suit were From Christmas Cheer
  3. Head from George and Basic Shapes
  4. Photo Corners From Picturesque
  5. Sleigh From Winter Woodland
  6. Title and Wreath From Celebrate with Flourishes
  7. Arms and Body From From My Kitchen
  8. Santa Beard and Hat From Everyday Paper Dolls
So that's a total of 8 different cartridges :-) WHEW that was a lot!
So now the winner.......

Sandy's Simple Crafts

Sandy guessed 8 cartridges. She didn't get all the right eight, but that's okay :-) For the first drawing it was just about guessing the number.
So Sandy, the clock is now ticking, please email me at melinda @ scrapbookeden.com so I can send you out some goodies.

Thank you everyone for your comments and for playing along!

Stay tuned as I am working on bringing you some more fun prizes and giveaways!

You'll find these kits as well as others :-)
Here is a quick card I made using a dressform cutting file I created.
If you check out Thursdays post, you'll see another dressform cut file I created. This one here was one that I had started with. Those of you that design your own cutting files know how you start with one version and can end up with another. Well this one was one version from along the way. I have had a TON of requests about selling the other one. So I decided to pull this one back out and make it a little more user friendly :-)
I decided to make this file free for one week only!
So here's how to get this FREE dressform cutting file :-)
  1. You MUST sign up for my newsletter....NO EXCEPTIONS.
  2. You MUST become a follower of my blog....NO EXCEPTIONS. I don't mean to sound hard nosed, but for all the time I spend designing my files, the only thing aside from abiding by my TOU I ask, is to just show a little love and become a follower :-).
  3. Lastly, Just email me at: melinda @ scrapbookeden.com (remove all spaces) with your request. Please INCLUDE in your request, your blog following name or handle so I can verify your blog participation if need be.
For those of you that are already a follower and subscriber....A MILLION THANKS! Send me your request!
This file is available in KNK, GSD, WPC and SVG formats.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I consider it such an honor to have you follow my blog and I appreciate it very, very much!
