Throwback Thursday Day 4 Card

back-to-school-ccard-lt-600
Happy Thursday crafty friends,
Around the internet and on many social media sites, Thursday is known as throw back Thursday. A day in which you share photos, and other “things” from your past. So I have decided to start sharing projects that feature Stamps and or other products that are retired, no longer manufactured or have been around for quite some time. I will also share from time to time, pictures of past projects, etc.  So here is my first nod to Throwback Thursday.

Here’s a look at my card. It is a mix of some fun new products as well as some retired stamps from Close To My Heart. The finished size of the card is 5 x 6.5 and in Kraft Cardstock. I then cut a black cardstock and white cardstock  mat and then one from the Chalk It Up Paper Pack. I used my lagoon ink from the Adventure Ink Pad to ink around the edges of the patterned paper mat.  I then cut a smaller black mat and then a white one.

Here you can see that I used a stamp from the retired School Is Here stamp set from CTMH.

Here’s a closer look at the schoolhouse. This too is a retired stamp from the School Fun stamp set. I stamped it with my slate ink pad and then began coloring it with my Touch Twin Markers. I used a combination of the Carmine Marker and the Cherry Pink Marker. I then used the Mahogany Marker to color the doors. I then used the Golden Yellow Marker and the Marigold Marker  colored in the bell. For the bushes I used the Leaf Green Marker.

Here’s a closer look at the clouds from the Lifting Spirits stamp set. I stamped them with my Lagoon Ink Pad and then lightly colored them in with my watercolor pencils and my blending pen. I also lightly colored the background with the same watercolor pencil.  You can’t really tell but I stamped the schoolhouse on a separate piece of paper and then cut it out and added it to the background mat. After that, I did stamp the sentiment from the same retired School Is Here stamp set.

30 Years of Happy Stamps, Chalk It Up and SVG Card

Happy Wednesday crafty friends,
Today I am sharing yet another fun card with you in honor of National Stamping Month.
try card wad-490
Real fast and quick card. Finished size is 5 x 6.5 and starts with a kraft cardstock base. I then cut a mat out of white cardstock and black cardstock.  I then used some of that super fun patterned paper from the  Chalk It Up Paper pack. You can see a couple of border strips of different patterned papers from the same Chalk It Up Paper pack as well as a strip of the teal shimmer trim for the border.

Here’s a closer look at the rosettes I created one in smoothie cardstock and the other in crystal blue cardstock I used an SVG file that I created for the rosette. I then used some more Chalk It Up Paper pack for the scallop on the larger rosette and my circle punch for a black mat. I then used this month’s Stamp special,  30 years of happy  for the sentiments in the centers of the rosettes and stamped them with my Juniper Ink Pad. I used my foam tape to give the larger rosette a little lift.

Here’s a closer look at my sentiment. It came from the Chalk It Up Chipboard Assortment set. I matted it with some Crystal blue cardstock and then inked the edges with some of my Lagoon ink from my Adventure Mini Ink Pad set. This card came together very fast and easily. Perfect card for encouraging anyone.
