Pazzles and Spellbinders Digital Die Beach Baby Layout

Good morning crafty friends,
Today I am sharing on the Pazzles Craft Room a project I created with some of the wonderful Spellbinders Digital Dies, exclusive to the Pazzles Craft Room. Here is what I came up with.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

All of the nice patterned papers are from the DCWV White Ginger stack. I also followed the sketch from Stuck On U Sketches challenge. The large scalloped oval mat is also a Spellbinders Digital Die.

Here is a closer look at the cute die cuts I used. The surfboard is from the Surf’s Up Die Cut Collection. The fish and the turtle are from the From The Sea Collection. All of these collections can be found on the Pazzles Craft Room site.

The flip flops are from the Surf’s Up collection. You can see under the fish turtle and flip flops, there are some flourishes. Those are from the Floral Accents collection. I also added some fun Robin’s Nest Dew drops to give a little extra visual interest.

The Umbrella is from the Surf’s Up collection. Again the patterned papers are from the DCWV White Ginger Stack.

Lastly, I created the title in my Pazzles software and then print and then cut it out. The decorative label behind the title and smaller picture is the Labels 15 collection.

DCWV June Stackaholic Challenge Layout

Happy Sunday crafty friends,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting some fun crafting in! Today I wanted to share the layout I made for the DCWV monthly Stackaholic challenge. This is what I came up with.

grandma-amoment-captured-490
I created this layout using some wonderful vintagey looking papers from the Dear Jane Stack. The cuts are from PaperCraftingWorld.com Layout 614 set. I started with a layer of Cream colored Bazzil cardstock. I inked the edges of all the layers with with my Chocolate ink from the Basics Ink Pad set from Close To My Heart. I then used a piece of paper from the stack for the main background. I then used a different paper from the stack for the flowers and circle. The image with the bird and birdcage as well as the title were also from the same stack.

Here is a pic of the layout sketch we had to work with.

flowers-cu-490
Here’s a closer look at the flowers. The blue patterned paper was from the Dear Jane Stack. I cut the flowers out using my Pazzles Inspiration cutter.  Once cut, I inked the edges with some Crystal Blue ink from the Whimsy Ink pad set. I then distressed the petals (see below), added them to the layout and added some Cinnamon Stickles to the centers.

Here’s another view of the flowers. I inked the edges of the vine with some Chocolate ink from the Basics Ink Pad set.

glitter-edged-title-490
Here’s a closer look at the title. You can see that it comes pre-printed and has a nice glittered edges. I simply added some more Chocolate ink to distress the edges.

lace closeup-490
Here’s a closer look showing the edge with the lace. I used some foam tape underneath and then faux stitched around the edge with a sharpie fine tip marker.

stamped mat-490
For the mat in the background, I used a piece of kraft cardstock and then stamped it with one of the stamps from the Distressed backgrounds set. I used my  Dessert Sand ink Pad as it gave it a more tone on tone look and not a stark contrast.

Here is one last look at the layout. It is a photo of my Grandmother with my Uncle Dan and my mother (she was the toddler)…circa 1949.

DCWV Stackaholic Challenge and FREE SVG

Happy Friday crafty friends!
Whoo Hoo, hope you’re all doing well and getting ready for a weekend of summer crafty fun!  Today I am sharing a quick and cute card I created for the monthly DCWV Stackaholic challenge. This week DCWV participated in a blog hop and on their first day they used the new Honey Chic Stack. I was inspired by all the crafty goodness, so I pulled out that stack and went to work. This is what I came up with.

smile dcwv june challenge-480

Here’s a look at my finished card. I followed the sketch provided and designed my own “circle overlay”. This card is really simple and easy. The background paper is from the Honey Chic DCWV Stack as is the pink striped paper. **ENABLER ALERT*** The stack is currently 9.99 at Joann’s online. Great time to take advantage and grab this stack Smile

This is the sketch we were to follow for the challenge.

smile-sideview-480
From this shot you can see the EK Success mini corner punches I used. Also the Blue background with the frame is a “card” panel that comes just like that in the paper stack. All I did was add the letters for Smile to it. I added a metal star paper clip I had in my stash for a little extra visual interest. This goes well with the Honeycutz challenge for using something old. It has been sitting here in my craft room for no kidding....five to six years!!! You can also see in this shot that the paper has some parts of it that are pre-glittered. I love that about many of the DCWV stacks. Their papers will have some “strategically placed” glitter throughout the sheet. This makes for a very nice texture contrast in your projects and it isn’t “over-done”.

bow sideview-480
Here’s another view. You can see the nice Black Grosgrain ribbon I used here. Love May Arts Ribbon and seeing all the wonderful inspiration from the hop got my creative juices flowing. Oh, I almost forgot. The Smile letters are actually from a Quickutz Alphabet die set I have….Paige upper and lower case 2x2 dies. You use them with the Quickutz squeeze tool.

I used to enter a lot of challenge when I first started blogging, so I decided for the summer, I will float around and find some fun challenges to enter.
