Treat Boxes and Freebie

Happy Saturday crafty friends,
Hope you’re weekend has been a good one so far. Today I am sharing a couple of really cute treat boxes I made with files from PaperCraftingWorld.com. First up:

Candy Corn Treat Box

Here is my Candy Corn Treat Box. I used some wonderful patterned papers from the DCWV Sunday Afternoon (Chevron) and Baby Girl (Orange Squares) Stacks. Along with some American Crafts White Textured cardstock. I used my Sakura black fine tip pen to do the faux stitching around the outer edge.

candy corn box handle-480
Here is a side view of the handle. It is designed to look like smaller versions of the candy corn attached together. I thought that was such a cute idea as opposed to just a regular handle.

Here is a top shot showing the handle. When layering the pieces of the handle together, you want to use a good strong adhesive to allow for the curve of the papers.

Here is a close up of one of the free printable tags from the Tag set offered by PCW. You can head over to the PCW  design team blog and pick up the link to get yours. Don’t delay as they are only available for a week and then a new freebie is available. A new freebie goes up every Friday.

Pumpkin Box

Here is my second treat box. A cute little Pumpkin shaped box. I used some more of the fabulous orange patterned paper from the DCWV Baby Girl Stack and for the green leaf and handle, I used a pretty green patterned paper from the DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack. On this side I used one of the nested layers and inked the edges with my Sunset Ink pad from CTMH Adventure Mini Ink Pad Set. I also used another one of the printable tags from the freebie set. I added an orange eyelet and threaded some burlap cord from May Arts through. I inked the stem with some of my Saddle Ink Pad and then edged the leaf and vine piece with my New England Ivy Ink Pad. I used my black fine tip pen to make some faux stitching around the edges of both pumpkin layers. I finished off this side with a pretty black with white polka dot ribbon bow.

Here is a view of the other side of the pumpkin box. The cut file includes nesting layers of the pumpkin shape as well as cuts for this cute face. Once again I inked the stem and vine as well as the face. For the face, I used my Sunset Ink Pad from the Adventure Mini Ink Pad Set from CTMH

Here is a side shot of the handle. I inked the edge of it with my New England Ivy Ink Pad and then added a green matching brad with some layered circle and scallop punch cut outs.

Both boxes come out fairly good sized. the boxes measure approximately 2 1/4 (2 1/5)  x 4 x 3. Several small candies fit nicely in each one.

Happy Fall Card

Hello crafty friends,
Today I am sharing a card I created for the Pazzles Design Team and the Pazzles Craft Room.
I think fall is one of the prettiest times of the year. I love the colors and the crisp cool air. I sure do miss living up north during this time of year. Well anyway, here is my card for today. I am a self proclaimed DCWV StackAHolic! DCWV Autumn Melody Stack was the perfect choice for the pretty paper on this card!

When deciding what to create, I knew I wanted to work with the new Pazzles Pen tool. I used several files from the craft room library to create this work of heART.
Here is a closer look at the pen work. I simply added a "fill" into my fonts. The pen tool and my Pazzles did all the coloring in for me. The pretty flourish pen work is a craft room file as well. I then created an outline and had the pen do the dashed "stitched" line. I used an American Crafts Red Glitter Gel pen for the lettering and a Sakura Micron Brown Pen for the flourishes and the stitching work.

The card base is made of kraft cardstock and then I layered it with a cream and orange mat. As I mentioned above, the pretty patterned papers I used for the mat, the acorn outline and the leaves and border strip are all from the DCWV Autumn Melody Stack. Another fabulous stack of papers from the creative minds of DCWV!

Here's a closer look at all the yummy layers and papers.
I inked most of the edges with my Close To My Heart Saddle Ink Pad
In this view, you can also see where I took three strands of my burlap cord from May Arts and braided it to create a little extra visual interest. I layered it onto the May Arts Olive Satin ribbon for some great texture contrast.

Here's a closer look at the pretty little leaves and the burlap cord bow with button. I cut all the leaves out of the piece of Autumn Melody paper and then inked them with the various inks in my CTMH Enchantment Ink pad set. It gave them enough of a subtle difference without making them all completely different.

IFTL Thanksgiving Cards

iftl-tgiving-480b
Stand up in the presence of a person with gray hair, show respect for the old;
you are to fear your God; I am Adonai.
Leviticus 19:32

Hello crafty friends,
Today I wanted to share a few cards I have made for this month’s IFTL project. This month, Cindy and Madison have challenged us to create cards to share with a senior resident facility.
My cards are not super fancy, but I wanted them to be clean, easy to read and subtle.

iftl-tgiving-480b
I used some beautiful patterned paper from the DCWV Autumn Melody Stack. I stamped some acorn images from the CTMH Fall Harvest Stamp set and then colored them in with my CTMH colored pencils. I inked the edges with my Saddle Ink Pad and then added pretty strips of some May Arts Olive Satin Ribbon and Burlap Cord.

iftl-thanksgiving cards-480a
Here is a picture of two of them. I made a total of four and on one I added a cute die cut that was also from the DCWV Autumn Melody Stack.
I hope you will take a little time to participate in this month’s IFTL project and share with the lovely residents of this community.

I used the following products to create these cards.

dcwv-autumn-melody-stack_thumb2
DCWV Autumn Melody
3505-water color pencils
I also used: Cream, Kraft and Brown Cardstock and adhesives.

Please be sure to head over to IFTL and share your crafty heart and talents this month!

Thank you for stopping by and sharing your crafty time with me!

Pumpkin Patch Cutie Layout

pumpkin patch cutie-lo-480
Hello crafty friends,
Hope your weekend was a fun one in which you got to spend a little time crafting! I was able to create this layout for today. Today is also a bit special because I get to announce that I was recently added to the Fab Four Design team for Scrapyland.com. Scrapyland.com is an online retailer with a huge selection of dies, copics, papers, adhesives and all the other fun stuff that makes our paper crafting so much fun! So let’s get to my simple and fun project.

pumpkin patch cutie-lo-480
Here is a view of my layout. I used the Classic Doodlecharms cartridge with my Cricut Expression. The bear, pumpkins and brown charms were created with the cartridge. The patterned paper I used is from the DCWV Sweet Stack. I think this has to be one of my top 5 favorite stacks. I added a pretty strip of American Crafts Ribbon to the photo with a sweet little bow at the bottom.

doodlecharm-bear-standing-450
Here is a closer look at the cute little bear. I “paper pieced” her together all from cuts in the cartridge.
I added a cute little button and some twine to the center of the little flower on her head. I inked her edges with Cocoa Cat’s Eye Pigment Ink.

If you would like to see some of my other
"Cricut Paper Piecings" you can find them HERE

Here is a view of the entire title. I used small doodlebug brads to fasten the
charms to some burlap cord.

title letters closeup-450
Here’s a closer look at the lettered charms. I created the title charms in Adobe Photoshop
and sized them so they cut out with a 1” circle punch.
I layered the lettering on a green, 1 1/8” circle punch and a white 1 1/4” scalloped punch.

pumpkins closeup-480
Here’s a closer look at the pumpkins. I inked the outer edges in some Mango Tango Colorbox pigment ink and then used some Pebbles Basic Brights 10 pc. Chalk Ink to add some color to the leaves and the pumpkins. I also used my Copic E23 Hazelnut marker to add a little brown to the stems.

I used the following products to complete this project

Copic E23 Hazelnut Sketch Marker
cocoa
Cocoa Cat’s Eye Pigment ink
