Butterfly Card Details Post

Good morning crafty friends,
I wanted to share details on the card I created for this week’s SVG Showcase-Link Up Post
 butterfly-dcwvcard-500
Here’s my finished card. The finished size is a standard A4

I wanted to create a card showcasing this new cut file from PCW
dcwv paper-500
I was trying to decide on a color scheme and was looking through my
DCWV stacks. I love the Four Seasons stack. The papers have a romantic,
shabby-vintagey feel. I saw this piece and loved it. You can’t see by the
picture but the butterflies are already “pre-glittered”. Very pretty.
The stack comes with two pieces of each style so I figured
I could save one for a layout and use the other for this card.

 paper cut up-500
Here is a picture of the pieces I cut out. I simply positioned the cuts so that
I could get the pieces of the pattern where I wanted them. I did ultimately
decide not to use the two tags I cut, but I will for another project….soon.

After I cut out the pieces, I cut out the three pre-glittered butterflies by hand.
I then used two Martha Stewart butterfly punches to cut out the smaller
butterflies from the floral pattern at the bottom.
BUTTERFLY CU2-500
After assembling the base of the card, I began to attach the butterflies.
The three original large ones from the paper were already ‘pre-glittered”
so I decided to add some Stickles to the other little ones I punched out.
I wanted them to “match” the other ones as much as possible.

butterfly cu-500
This shot shows that I used some foam dots to give the larger butterflies some lift.

Here is a close up of the flower. I simply layered the petals that I had cut onto the
scalloped circle and added a pearl gem to the center.
I finished off the bow with a matching metallic mini brad.

Mother’s Day Card Details

Hello crafty friends,
Here is my last post for the day and it is a details post on the card I made for this past Wednesday’s Cartridge Link Up.

MOTHERS DAY CARD-500B
Here is a photo of the finished card. I used some great paper from the
Four Season’s DCWV Stack. the burgundy print with the floral
lacey look was already a print on the paper. The card  came together
very quickly. I used the Sweet Treats cartridge to cut the plain white petals.

Rose ATC Details Post-Carnation Tutorial

Hello crafty friends,
Here is my details post for the ATC card I created recently. I also wanted to include a mini tutorial on how I made the cute little carnation flowers.

Here is the image with the Gelly Embossing  powder on the flowers.

Now on to how I made the flowers.
white flowers-500
I cut out the flowers in plain white cardstock. They were all the same size.

hole punched-500
I stacked them and then punched them in the center so that I can use a brad in the center.

glimmer misted-500
I then spritzed the petals with some Cherub Pink Glimmer mist. You want your petals to be moist so that they will be pliable.
This shot shows that. I used 8 petals per flower.

flower 3 layers-500
I threaded the brad through the first couple of petals and then gently scrunched them up.  Here is a shot showing the first couple of petals. I then continued adding each petal and “scrunched” them up. I also staggered the petals.

three complete flowers-500
After adding the petals, I closed the brad and then gently opened up the layers and separated them so they would look realistic.

flowers w penny-500
Here is a shot showing how small these little flowers were. They turned out really cute. You can make these  up ahead of time and have them on your stash.

embossing products-500
I used the Zing Gold Embossing Powder and the Pearly Sparkle Gelly Glitter Powder.
The rest of the products used:

DCWV Fresh Floral Stack for the patterned papers.
White cardstock
EK Success Photo Corner Punch
Gold Embossing Powder
Gelly Glitter-Pearly Sparkle

Lattice Tag Details

Hello crafty friends,
Here is my details post for the tag I made for our Thursday Tag n’ ATC Post.
lattice tag-516-500
This is a view of the finished tag. I used the Tag, Lattice and Flower file from PCW.

lattice tag flower cu-500
Here is a close up of the flower. I created the flower from plain white cardstock. I used Lavender and Medium Purple ink to ink the edges of the petals. I layered and staggered the petals and then curled them. I used Warm Green and Lime Pastel ink for the leaves. I also softly inked the circle with a Pink Ink. In short, all those pieces started as plain white. I used some iridescent lace to create the back and some Liquid Pearls to edge the scalloped circle layer. Lastly I added one adhesive pearl embellishment.

Spring Basket Card

Good morning crafty friends,
Here is the details post for the card I created and shared for our Digi Desserts Fridaze Post.
Let’s get right to it.

Here is my finished card.
The measurements are 5.5 x 5.5
spring bskt dscard-500

spring bskt-cu-500ds
Here is a close up of my coloring.  I used the Spring Basket Digi from PCW.

copics 4 spring basket-500
Here is a shot of the Copic Markers I used to color. I must admit it is getting harder for me to color smaller images. My eyes just aren’t what they used to be and it is probably time for some new glasses….at least that’s what we will blame some of the mistakes on….ROFL! Anyway, here are their “numbers”
BV0000, BV000, BV00, Y0000, Y00, Y11, Y21, Y23, YG01,
YG05, E31, E33, E35, R00, R20, RV32, RV34, C3, 00-Blender

spring bskt-paper-500
Here is a picture of the paper I used. It was from the DCWV Nana’s Kitchen Stack. I cut it so that three of the patterns were displayed on the back and then used the blue pinstripe portion for a border.  I love the way the paper also included a border as well as “stitching”. All that on one piece of paper Smile

Here are the products I used
