CWC #125: Card Outreach for Claire

Happy Wednesday and welcome to our weekly "Crafts With Cutters" challenge!  This week the Design Team is creating cards for this month's "I Feel the Love" Project recipient -- a precious 4 year old named Claire.

On January 2, 2013 Claire was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a primary bone cancer that affects mainly children and adolescents. It's one of a group of cancers known collectively as the Ewing sarcoma family of tumors (ESFT or sometimes just EFT). It's the second most common bone cancer in children, but it's also relatively uncommon. It accounts for only 1% of all childhood cancers.  Claire and her family now face a very long and difficult journey. Her sisters, Maeve (age 6) and Sarah (age 2); and Claire's twin brother, Declan, are too young to grasp the magnitude of the situation but they know that their sister is sick and the doctors and nurses are going to make her better. The treatment regiment calls for extended rounds of chemotherapy that could possibly last into the summer months, followed by surgery to remove the tumor, and finally radiation.

To find out more about Claire and how you can contribute to the card outreach, please visit Madison's website:   "I Feel the Love" Project.

Here is what the Design Team created for Miss Claire:

Cartridge Showcase: Garden Soup

Hello everyone!!  Charlotte here from A Little Bit of Detail.  Melin and I are delighted to bring to you a showcase of the cartridge, Garden Soup.

This cartridge has some wonderful images, phrases, and borders.  And I do think it has some of the best  3D projects ever.

Today, I have three cards to share with you using the Garden Soup cartridge.  The first one is a little card made with the honeycomb shape.  The one I am using is plain.  However there are some great honeycomb shapes that include design cuts.

The little honeycombs were cut at 1 inch.  I ran them through my zyron to make it easy to place them on the card.  The little flower is also cut from Garden Soup.  The white paper was embossed with the Swiss dots folder and inked around the edges with black.  The senitment is a stamp from Inkadinkado.  It was added to the card with foam tape.  The bird sticker is from a set that I found int he $1.00 bin at JoAnn's.  And of course, I just had to add ribbon and twine.

My next card makes me think of planting that spring garden.  And it is about that time of year.

Isn't this wheelbarrow wonderful!  I hand cut the dirt and added it.  The wheelbarrow is inked with a little pewter.  The watering can, shovel and pick are also from the Garden Soup cartridge.

The little birds I added to the card are from ColorBox and came from JoAnn's.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Stampers.  The labels for the sentiment were cut with Spellbinders dies, and then inked in pewter.

Here is a little card that will surely bring the sunshine.

The base of the card is kraft.  I added a pale yellow mat and then topped it with a white mat.  I used an embossing border folder called wicker weave on the left of the card.  I then inked it with a little chartreuse and added three little yellow gems to it.
The daffodils were cut from the Garden Soup cartridge.  I then added some yellow glitter glue to them. The sentiment is from Just Rite Stampers. The labels for the stamp were cut with Spellbinder dies.  The white label is inked with chartreuse and the green mat is inked with green.  I added another little yellow gem to the sentiment.  To complete the card I added a pretty sheer yellow bow.

Sweet As Honey Card

Bugs & Hugs Card

Thank you for joining us for this showcase.  Charlotte had so much fun with the cartridge, that she will be making a few more projects.  So be sure to head over to her blog, A Little Bit Of Detail in a few days to see those projects as well.

Thank you again for sharing your crafty time with us. Be sure to come back by tomorrow for our Terrific Tuesday, SVG Post. See what our designers have created, pick up your FREE SVG AND we will be announcing the winners of our blog hop! If you want to check out the hop, just head HERE
