Totally Tags n' ATC's - Something New-Free Graphic

Good morning crafty friends, Suzanne of Cricut Crafting Grammy. I am so excited that Melin and the Design Team at My Paper Crafting  are starting a new post for Thursdays, Totally Tags n' ATC's. Beginning today February 21, Thursdays will be the day to explore different themes, elements, techniques or embellishments.   This week we are using ribbon on our tags and ATC's.  There is no restriction on what tools  are used to create these tags or ATC's.    It could be a die cut machine, punches, stamps, etc.  The sky is the limit.  However if the Design Team uses Digis or SVG's they will be from Paper Crafting World.

As a side note, if you don't know what an ATC card is,
here is an interesting definition from Wikipedia.
Artist trading cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern trading cards baseball cards, or 212 by 312 inches (63 mm × 89 mm),[small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.[The ATC movement developed out of the mail art movement and has its origins in Switzerland. Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals or cloth. The cards are usually traded or exchanged.

I will be coordinating the post for Thursday and can hardly wait to see what all the awesome Design Team members create.  I for one have not always been a big tag maker but have recently started exploring tags as a new way to express creativity, try new techniques and use my scraps.  I hope you will join us each Thursday here at My Paper Crafting for
Totally Tags n' ATC's.

Totally Tags N’ ATC’s Tag details

Good morning crafty friends,
I wanted to share a details post on how I created my Tag for our first Totally Tags N’ ATC’s Post.  I am pretty excited about adding this post to our team line up. So let’s get started:

butterfly tagnologo-500
Here’s my tag.

butterfly closeup-500
Here’s a close up of the butterfly. It started as a plain white cardstock cut. I then added some Close To My Heart inks and Pearl Paint to give it that gorgeous shimmer.

bow closeup-500
Here’s a close up of the flowers and bow. I colored the charm with a Copic Marker (E39) and used some Dew drops for the center of the pink flower and around the tag. For my ribbon I used some organza ribbon for the bow. I also used some white acetate ribbon towards the top of this photo. I cut it into very thin strips and then curled it with my scissors. I then attached them so the would stay curled.

BUTTERFLY

I didn’t take a picture, but the butterfly began as plain white cardstock cuts.
bflybase-cu-500
For the butterfly base layer I sponged some ink using my  Crème Brulee Ink Pad on the inside and then my Blush Ink Pad on the outside. I set that aside.

bflyinked-500
Next I took my top layer cut and sponged ink using the following: Gypsy Ink Pad for the inside, Sky Ink Pad for the middle and then my Sweet Leaf Ink Pad for the outer edge.

bfly-pearlized-500
Next, I added some of the fantastic CTMH Create a Shade Pearl Paint. In this photo you can see where I added the paint to the right side of the butterfly. I wanted to try and capture the difference in the piece that paint adds.

After I painted the top layer of the butterfly completely, I adhered it to the base.

Here’s a close up of the butterfly once again.

Flowers
Pink Flower
I cut my pieces out of plain white cardstock. I then stamped the petals with my Blush Ink and the Just For You CTMH Stamp set. I then staggered the petals together and assembled the flower.

Here you can see that I curled the petals to give the flower some dimension.

Blue Flower
Once again, I cut all my pieces out of plain white cardstock. I then inked them with my Sky Ink Pad first and then with My Gypsy Ink Pad. This shot shows the progression. I then staggered and layered three petals and then curled the edges for dimension.

Here is a list of the products I used to create this project
CTMH Products
Lucy Designer Paper (Discontinued)

Other Products
White Opal Liquid Pearls
Copic Marker (E39)
Misc. Charm
Misc. White Acetate Ribbon
Misc. Oraganza Ribbon

and
It is only $1.00 for the next week!

Hope you enjoyed the information and are inspired to create your own tag and or atc! Be sure to visit our Totally Tags Post to see what the other designers created and to  pick up your free graphic!!!!
