Welcome to Day Eight of our 3rd Annual 25 Days of Christmas and Year 'Round Crafting Showcase! Each day our Designers were given a “theme” to work with, so each of the 25 days will be different. We will also have a daily FREE Cutting File and a daily FREE Digital Stamp-Printable along with some FREE Royalty-Free Vintage Graphics.
Today's theme is:
Who doesn't love the sparkle of the millions of twinkle lights and the flashing and pulsing of the fancy ones you see too! I love the way my childhood town would light up the trees in Central Park and then the Lord would cover them in a soft blanket of snow. It truly was such a beautiful sight.
BUT today at sundown another VERY IMPORTANT reason for “lights” begins. The celebration of Chanukah begins tonight at sundown. Most of us have been taught that this is a “Jewish” holiday. But the reality is, it is part of God’s mandate to His people… ALL His people. If you are a Christian, then you are “grafted into the vine” and a part of His Kingdom. Chanukah is a holiday dedicated to giving God glory for His miraculous hand of rescue, victory, presence and love for His people. It is part of the moadim (eternal feast days) God has instructed us to observe. As a Christian trying to connect with the Hebrew roots of my faith, this is new to my family but such a wonderful time to learn more about who our God is.
