Challenge #52: The Colors of Autumn

Happy Wednesday and welcome to challenge day at Cooking With Cricut!  The Design Team was challenged to use the colors of autumn in their projects this week -- red, orange, yellow, brown, and/or green.  With the offical start of autumn coming up on Thursday, I am certain that cooler weather and beautiful leaves are on their way for some of you out there!  However, here in sunny Florida it is still hot and muggy, with the occasional cool morning.  Happy Fall, y'all!

This is Stacey's last Design Team Project.  We wish her well ~
she will be missed!  Stacey used the Cricut Lite Bloom cartridge.
Make sure you check out her blog for the details on this lovely card.

Madison used Kate's ABCs cartridge for this super cute
birthday card.  Check out all the details on her blog.

Gaby used the Christmas and Pooh & Friends cartridges for her Fall sign.
Hop on over to her blog for the recipe!

Jen used the Create-A-Critter cartridge for her Fall wreath.
Check out her blog for the details!

Melin used the Elegant Edges and Cake Basics Cartridges to create this layout.

Here is a close up of the Cricut cuts. The border and Circles are from Elegant Edges.
The Butterfly, inner circles and leafy flourishes are from Cake Basics.
The Designer Paper is from Quick Quotes Khaki Collection
The Red Shimmery Sheer Ribbon is also from Quick Quotes as well as the quote below. The quote is from their Itty Bitty Quote Box: Babies, Kids and Family.
I inked the edges of most of the elements with either the Midnight Confessions or Amaretto Powder Puff Chalk Inks by QQ.
Lastly I used some Green, Goldenrod White and Brown Bazzill Cardstock and some Cinnamon and Red Stickles.

Now it's your turn!  Link up your Autumn Colors project . . . Here are a few guidelines:

* Must follow the challenge topic.
* Must be a new project for this challenge…please no back dated posts.
* Must have a link back to this post on your blog.
* Must link your project post through Inlinkz and not just your blog.
* Must use your Cricut in some capacity.
* Must HAVE FUN!

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us once again! We appreciate it so much!  Have a wonderfully crafty day.

Back 2 School Challenges…Last Call

Happy Tuesday morning crafty friends,

I just wanted to post really quickly this morning a reminder that the Quick Quotes School Blog Challenge is still running! You have through tomorrow to enter your school related project for a chance to win a…

$25 Dollar Gift Certificate to Shop at

Now for those of you that don’t necessarily have a traditional “school themed” project to enter…how about thinking just a bit outside the box…hmmm like the “school of Life”. I also wanted to incorporate this week’s Stampin’ Sisters in Christ Challenge (Scripture and Wings) into this AND of course, I wanted to try and include this week’s CWC challenge of Grandparents or Heritage (For me...my Heritage is strongly tied to the Lord and who He is to me and my family...both past and present) into the mix as well.

With those ideas and challenges in mind, I created this quick card to share with everyone.

Here is the first version. Really they are the same card, I just created two different versions of the Psalms 25:4 digital stamp scripture. I will be giving this pdf file away as just one of this week’s free files with the next newsletter. So be sure to sign up for it (top left box).

The designer paper is from the Quick Quotes Khaki Collection. More specifically the Khaki 600 double sided paper. I created the flourish lace panel and used an EK and MS punch for the butterflies. The roses are some Primas I have had in my stash for quite some time.

Here is the second version with the different font.

Here is a close up shot of the first version.

And here is a close up shot of the second version. You can also see that I used my Amaretto and Midnight Confessions Chalk Inks from QQ to gently ink the edges of the various mats and designer paper.

Hopefully this will spur your creativity to think outside the “school bus” or “apple” and get your creative juices flowing and enter the QQ challenge as well as the CWC challenge and or the Stampin’ Sisters in Christ challenge.

Here are the two cards I made.

This first card contains the Peachy Keen You’re A Star Stamp and I used the Everyday Faces Stamp on the digital stamp bear. The Designer (Savvy Davy) Paper and the Striped Ribbon are from Quick Quotes. I used my Copic Markers to color in the stamp.

This second card also features the Peachy Keen You’re A Star Stamp. Again, the Savvy Davvy designer paper and striped ribbon are from Quick Quotes. I colored in the You’re A Star Stamp with some shimmer chalks. I also used the Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk Inks to ink the edges of the designer paper on both cards and a couple of border punches and some faux stitching.

My last project is this cute little 3 Dimensional “Back Pack”

I used some Bazzill Cardstock to create the base and the pocket. I used some of the Merry Go Round Designer Paper to cut colorful panels for the front and back as well as the front of the pocket . I also used some Quick Quotes Lime Dot Ribbon for the “straps”. I finished off both flaps with twine laced buttons and added one more “You’re A Star” Peachy Keen Stamp to the front. I am going to fill this with some goodies and give it to my grandson when he comes over next weekend :-)

Now it’s time to head over to super talented Michelle’s Blog and check out what she has for you. In Case You Get Lost Along The Way, Here is the list of blogs participating for Day two.
