Challenge #42: Pen or Marker Work or a Sun

Good morning, Cricutlicious friends!

We are glad you are joining us for another wonderful Wednesday.  And if its Wednesday that means it is challenge day here at Cooking With Cricut!

Our challenge this week was to use our pens -- Cricut Color markers, Amy Chomas or Cri-Kits pens. If you don't have any of these to work with then the second aspect to this challenge was to include a sun die cut of some sort in or on your project instead.

Check out what our amazing Design Team created!

Stacey created this super cute card using the Simply Charmed cartridge.  Check out all the details on Stacey's blog.

Jean created this adorable layout using her Cricut Color markers and her Hannah Montana and the Robotz cartridges to create her cut images.  Check out all the details on Jean's blog!

Madison created this cute little treat bag for a friend using the Create-A-Critter cartridge.  Hop on over to her blog to check out the particulars.

Jen created this mat and picture using Hello Kitty Greetings and Create-A-Critter.  Check out her blog for the sweet story and details on this picture.

Roberta used Sesame Street Seasons and Mini-Mongrams for this super cute card.  Make sure you visit her blog for the details!

Gaby used her Cricut pens to create this awesome layout.  Make sure you go over to her blog and see how she did it!

Now it’s your turn, let’s see your creative, Cricut best!  Remember our guidelines . . .
1. It must be a new project with a Cricut cut.
2. You must post your project and include a link back to CookingWithCricut.com
3. And the best rule of all -- you MUST HAVE FUN!

As always, thank you so much for joining us! We appreciate it so much!

To create this layout I used the Botanicals Cartridge for the flourish above and the birdhouse. Forever Young for the scalloped “flowers” and I can’t remember which cartridge the Font came from. The daisy border as well as the “lacey” border came from a couple of punches.

As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Anything Goes Challenge

Good morning crafty friends,

I wanted to share a project that fits with our current: Anything Goes challenge here at CWC. My daughter and I made this project for a class project she had to do.

Her project was to create a fictional story of a “God or Goddess” for her English literature class.  She created a character named Asceneca. Her Asceneca character was a loving Goddess. Here is a close up of the character we created.

Here is a close up of the “symbol”  In the story, if Asceneca was sad her heart would break and she would cry Ascenekite. A very special and precious stone. Very hard to find. So the drops were the colored Ascenekite jewels.

Good morning crafty friends,

Today begins a week long promotion of the wonderful Quick Quotes and Amy Chomas products.

Be sure to head over to the Quick Quotes Blog. The Design Team will be showcasing projects all week and you will have the chance to WIN an Amy Chomas pen holder and gel pen set AND some great Quick Quotes products!

Here is the card I made.
sister card 500
This is the front of my card. I used the Amy Chomas gel pen holder and pens to draw the daisies on the border. I then cut them out and then cut an additional border-outline from purple cardstock. The sentiment comes from the Quick Quotes Itty Bitty Babies, Kids and Families Box. The Designer paper is from the Quick Quotes Julie line...ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

Here is a close up of the daisy border. I used pop dots to give the border and the flower in the center a lift.

Here is the inside of the card. I used the Blue Moon Chalk Inks by QQ to ink around the edges of the Julie Designer Paper. I again used the various QQ inks to shade all of the white flowers. The powder puff chalk inks are a FABULOUS way to create coordinating embellishments. Using your Cricut to cut plain white flowers and then inking them to match the project is a very useful way of saving money while getting the exact shades of color for your embellies!
