Celebrations Showcase

Good morning everyone,
It certainly has been a while since I have posted. I do apologize for my absence. I had computer problems...major and then had a very busy schedule and had to try and play catch up. But I wanted to get right back into the swing of things. I am a design team member over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. I just became the new Fantabulous Girl Friday over there. This means each week I will be posting a segment exploring our Cartridges, Cutting files and More. So here is this week's first Cartridge. The honors go to.....Ms. Celebrations Cartridge herself!
Most of us have her in our collection of bug juice and she has been around for quite some time.
So I figured I would dust her off and take a closer look at her :-)

Birthday Girl Layout
Here is a layout I made using Ms. Celebrations herself. This is along the lines of what you would expect from this great cartridge. I made ALL the elements using just the Celebrations Cartridge. The scalloped yellow background was cut using the "Fit to page" button and scalloped sqaure found on page 122. The cupcake, balloons, presents and girl title also came from this wonderful cartridge.

Now let's think outside Ms. Celebration's box a bit. Here are a few projects and ideas I came up with that weren't necesarily balloons, gifts, candles and cakes.

Prayer Booklet
I used my Gypsy and my Celebrations Cricut Cartridge to create the "pages" of the book. The inside pages measure approximately, 2.75" wide by 3.55" high.
The flowers and the "flourishes" on both of these pages were also created using the Celebrations cartridge. The flowers are from page 121 and the "flourishes" are from page 104.
You can download the free journaling and scripture tags pdf file at the bottom of this post.

SWEET BOY LAYOUT
Here is a layout I made using the Celebrations cartridge. ALL the die cuts are from Ms. Celebrations...Yep that's right...ALL.
Aside from a few sentiments, like the "Boy" title, this cartridge doesn't have a font. So I used numbers to create the title "Sweet". The "S" is the curly number 8. I welded the three 3's together for the w, e and e. The t is from the number "4". After the Cricut was finished cutting my Gypsy file, I still needed to trim part of the 8 away as well as part of the number "4" to achieve the finished "Sweet" title.
Now about this lamb....
He is totally from the Celebrations cartridge. Can you get your bug juice going and figure him out? If not, that's okay, be sure to sign up for my email newsletter. I will be sending one out Sunday late afternoon-evening and will have the full cut instructions link on it :-)

Lastly, How about some 3 dimensional flowers.
I made these beauties using my Celebrations cartridge and my Gypsy. Which by the way, if you don't have a Gypsy, I think you could still make them.
I would show you the project these are going on....but then I would have to make you an offer you couldn't refuse....lol! But if you come back on Monday, then I will give you the skinny on these cute "fringey" flowers and the Gypsy file too!
Be sure to visit back tomorrow as I will be sharing a project from one of our new DT members in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness.

School Is Cool Bookworm Card

Hello everyone,
Happy Saturday! Hope you had a wonderful week! Here is just a quick little project I made for our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl-Blog Hop! It has been so much fun having everyone stop by and participate!

I used good 'ol George and Basic Shapes for this card. I cut a star from white cardstock @ 2.5" and then did a purple one @ 2.75" with the Silhouette feature.
The bookworm is a digi stamp from Page-Kits.com.
I colored the bookworm stamp with my Copic markers.
Here is a closeup of the You're a Star digi stamp I made. It was designed to be perfectly cut out using a 1" circle punch.
If you would like the FREE You're A Star digi stamp: CLICK HERE. This will be available for the next three days only. So be sure to grab it while you can :-)

Samuel Goes to School Layout

Good morning everyone,
So sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. I have been...ONCE AGAIN...having computer issues. I have such a love hate relationship with my laptop at the moment :-) But none the less I am grateful that I am to this point at least :-)

Today's project was a continuation of the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl-Blog Hop as well as for a guest designer spot over at another Cricutlicious lover's blog. Kassidy from InkingItUpCrazy is another one of "US". She loves her Bug and loves to share some wonderful "Bug juice" Please be sure to hop over there and give here some love!

For this project I used the following cartridges:
A Word Party-Word Builders
Create A Critter
Mini Monster
Gypsy - For the two FREE Gypsy Files: Please see below.
Here is a closeup of the dinosaur. I used my Gypsy to do some "hide Contours" to make the dino more to my personal liking :-) I used my copic markers to color his spikes and circles.
Here is a closeup of the little frog. He is from Mini Monsters. Again I used my Gypsy to do some "contour hiding" to make him a little more "Melin"...lol.
Here is a closeup of the Word Art tag I created. I have it in two style for the FREE download below. I have it wih the colors you see here and then with all black lettering. So if you want to re-create this you will have the little tag :-)

Freshmen Layout

Good morning Everyone!
Today is Day 2 of the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl! I am so super excited to be a part of this hop. It is my first ever :-) So to continue with the theme, I made this project. It is a layout of my DD on her first day of High School! She was so excited!

To create today's project, I used the following cartridges: Lacey Labels, Forever Young, Cursive 101, Cake Basics and my Gypsy.

Here is a view of the entire layout. I used the Lacy Labels cartridge to cut out the frame. The frame-label was cut at 8.5". I spritzed the frame with some crushed shells glimmer mist and inked the edges lightly with my Chestnut Roan chalk ink.
Here is a closeup of the title I made. I used the Cursive 101, Cake Basics and the Gypsy to weld.
Here is a closeup shot of the small flowers. You can kind of see the shimmer and depth in this shot. They are really pretty in person.
Here is a closeup shot of the large flowers.
To make the flowers: I started with flowers from the Forever Young Cartridge. I cut them in sizes starting at 1.75" and worked my way down to .75". I did them in layers of three. These were cut with plain white cardstock.
  1. I ran the flowers through my cuttlebug using the Victorian embossing folder.
  2. I spritzed them with some Fall Breeze Glimmer mist and then
  3. Inked the edges with my Chestnut Roan chalk ink.
  4. I layered and staggered them. Curled the edges and then dotted the centers with some Perfect Pearls.
Well, I think that covers it: Be sure to leave a comment on this post and yesterday's post for a chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate from Page-Kits.com. Also be sure to see yesterday's post so you can "Hop" your way through the Fantabulous Cricut "Crawl-Hop"!

Reminder: You will need the Gypsy, Cake Basics and Cursive101 to cut this file.
