You’ve Got A Friend In Me Card

Happy Monday crafty friends,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. First for those following along and reading Psalm 119 with me, here is today's passage.

א Aleph
119 Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the Lord!
2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart!
3 They also do no iniquity;
They walk in His ways.
4 You have commanded us
To keep Your precepts diligently.
5 Oh, that my ways were directed
To keep Your statutes!
6 Then I would not be ashamed,
When I look into all Your commandments.
7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
8 I will keep Your statutes;
Oh, do not forsake me utterly!
Psalm 119: 1-8

Here is a closer look at the stamped sentiment.  I used the stamp of the month for this month and stamped it with some hollyhock ink. The papers are from the Free To Be Me paper collection that is part of this month’s National Scrapbook Month promotion. The white border is a Martha Stewart punch.

Here is a side view.  I used some foam tape for the stamped sentiment. I did also ink the edges of the orange oval, the red circles, the white circles and the banner strip. I used inks from the Adventure Ink Pad set.

SOUS Die Cut Challenge Cricut Layout With Video

Hello crafty friends,
Happy Sabbath crafty friends! Hope you are looking forward to a day filled with crafty goodness! First for those following along with the counting of the Omer, Here is today’s Psalm 119 passage.

שׁ Shin
161 Princes persecute me without a cause,
But my heart stands in awe of Your word.
162 I rejoice at Your word
As one who finds great treasure.
163 I hate and abhor lying,
But I love Your law.
164 Seven times a day I praise You,
Because of Your righteous judgments.
165 Great peace have those who love Your law,
And nothing causes them to stumble.
166 Lord, I hope for Your salvation,
And I do Your commandments.
167 My soul keeps Your testimonies,
And I love them exceedingly.
168 I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies,
For all my ways are before You.
Psalm 119:161-168

What a beautiful passage of hope. I pray it blesses and fills your heart and mind with the unfailing love of such a merciful God. Now on to my project for today. I had the SOUS Die Cut challenge in mind when I created this layout. The current die cut challenge is to use a Tree in your project. Head over to the Die Cut Challenge, HERE and check out what the designers created and join the fun! Now on to my project.

You Make My Heart Sing Cricut Art Philosophy Layout With Blue Bird Piecings
cricut ap blue bird layout-480wadb

This is a shot of the entire layout. I used some of the pretty paper from the Free To Be Me Collection available this month only in honor of National Scrapbook Month. Then I turned to my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and created all of the cuts. Everything came from the Art Philosophy cartridge and my Cricut Expression. I didn’t use any Gypsy, Cricut Craft Room or SVG files.

Here is a closer look at one of the cute little blue bird piecings I designed. You can also see the little flowers and butterflies. I cut those out in plain white cardstock. I then stamped them to give them some color and pattern. For the butterflies, I used the honey comb patterned stamp from the Sweet As Honey Stamp Set. For the flowers I used the polka dot pattern from the same set. I used some Topiary Ink from the Adventure Ink Pad set to
ink the edges of the puffs of grass  in the background.

For the Blue birds, I inked the blue pieces with some Indian Corn Blue, For the Beak and feet I used some Sunset and for the tummy piece I used some honey. The sunset and honey are from the Adventure Ink Pad set and the Indian Corn Blue is from the Enchantment Ink Pad setI then finished off the face with some chalking. For a detailed photo tutorial on how to create faces, check out my post HERE.

sing title closeup-480
Here is a shot of the title sing. I used the Urban Alphabet Stamp set and some cranberry ink pad to stamp the letters onto a circle. I added those to a scalloped circle and used some foam tape to give them a little lift. I inked the edge of the heart die cut with some more Indian Corn Blue.

I did the same thing as above for this part of the title. I did use a retired stamp set to stamp the Make and My words.

This is a view of the cute little baby blue birds I created. The are the same as the larger birds, I just used different sizes of the cuts. For the tree puffs, I inked the edges in some of the Topiary Ink from the Adventure Ink Pad set  I inked the tree trunk with some Chocolate ink from the Basics Ink Pad set.

Center Fold Circle Cut Card

Happy Thursday crafty friends,
I hope you are having a wonderful day so far. Before I get to my project, here is today’s Psalm 119 passage for those that are following along with me.

ק Qoph
145 I cry out with my whole heart;
Hear me, O Lord!
I will keep Your statutes.
146 I cry out to You;
Save me, and I will keep Your testimonies.
147 I rise before the dawning of the morning,
And cry for help;
I hope in Your word.
148 My eyes are awake through the night watches,
That I may meditate on Your word.
149 Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness;
O Lord, revive me according to Your justice.
150 They draw near who follow after wickedness;
They are far from Your law.
151 You are near, O Lord,
And all Your commandments are truth.
152 Concerning Your testimonies,
I have known of old that You have founded them forever.
Psalm 119:145-152
I hope the thought of an ever present Lord will bring you comfort and continued hope for all that you and or a loved one you know may be facing. Now for today’s project.

Here is my completed card, closed. I created this pretty card with a file from PaperCraftingWorld.com. It opens in the center.

card circle cut out ppr-350

I began with a Kraft cardstock base. I then cut the outer panels in a pink cardstock and then cut the inner panels in some beautiful paper from the DCWV Dear Jane Stack.

center fold open card open-480
Here is an inside-opened view of the  card. I once again cut the outer panels in pink cardstock and then cut the inner panels with some more of that gorgeous paper. When creating the border strip for the front, I wanted to wrap it in ribbon so I had to make sure that the ribbon wrapped around both ends so that when the card was opened, it was finished on both sides.  The weight of my button helped to keep it closed, but you could put a small bit of Velcro or us a repositionable glue dot to help hold it together when closed. I left it without a sentiment at the moment as I am not sure whether it will be a birthday card or a card for a wedding my son will be attending later this summer.

wreath closeup-480
This is a closer look at the pretty decorative wreath. I cut the wreath base out of kraft cardstock. I cut the tiny flowers out of white cardstock and then gently inked the edges of the petals with my Cotton Candy Ink pad. I adhered the flowers to the wreath and then used a piece of foam tape in the center to keep the cluster of three in place. I added some Petal Pink Liquid Pearls to the center of the flowers. I did also ink the edge of the white circle base and layered all of that onto a pink cardstock base.

colored gems closeup-480
This is a closer look at the outside of the card closed. I cut the scalloped circle frame in white cardstock. I added some pretty dew drops from Robin’s Nest. TIP:  However, they were a plain white dew drop and I wanted them to match the card a little better, so I colored them with my Copic Sketch Marker. I didn’t write down the color I used, but I think it was my R23.  It ended up matching the color of the pink perfectly. Coloring them in was a cinch. They dried very quickly and I applied a couple of coats.
