My Cricut Critter Piecings

ALL THESE CUTE PIECINGS ABOVE WERE MADE IN DESIGN SPACE. MOST WITH THE FREE SHAPES ONLY! I DO NOT HAVE AN ACCESS SUBSCRIPTION. ONLY MY LINKED CARTRIDGES!

UPDATED: 10/2021. Since the advent of Design Space and the movement away from Cartridges, the information for my cartridge piecings is rather obsolete. I will now include piecings I have created in design space. I will identify which cartridges I used and or the basic FREE shapes used to create the Design Space piecings. Like I said above, I DO NOT have a Cricut Design Space Subscription! After years of investing in all the many cartridges, I would think it would take quite some time to go through and utilize what I have already purchased. So if you are like me and you do NOT have an unlimited craft budget; then like me, you want or need to use what you already have. I hope you will find these informational and helpful!

**For those that still may have a classic Cricut with the cartridges system, scroll down a bit and you will find my original piecings.**

BELOW HERE ARE THE ORIGINAL PIECINGS.
The majority were made with the old cartridge and expression system.

These are all projects created using my Cricut and Cartridges ONLY. There are no “cutting files” or Gypsy (except where specified) used. I take cuts from cartridges and “piece” them together to create shapes (critters) not normally “Found” on the cartridges.

** Baby Shower Layout For All Recent Projects & Updates **

I have always loved the art of Paper Piecing and that is where these ideas have stemmed from. This is just a different way of looking at the shapes on your cartridge and getting the most “bang” for your buck.

I have thought about writing detailed instructions for these layouts including step by step instructions and compiling them into a book of some sort. If there is enough demand, I may finish and produce it. Your thoughts would be welcomed. You can email me at melin at scrapbookeden dot com. or leave a comment on this page.

I have many more to get on here, this is just a start so please check back.

Baby Shower
Cartridges Used: Doodletype, Pooh and Friends, Songbird, Simply Sweet and From My Kitchen
I think this is the layout that started it all. Back when I did it, I didn’t realize how much people would enjoy it. It took moving heaven and earth to get the directions again after losing them during a computer failure. Of course I know, you say....well why didn’t you have it backed up.....Well to that I say, I DID. I wonder if someone could figure out what the odds are of having your hard drive AND your plugged in back up drive go bad at the same time. YEP, that’s what happened. So I had to take the time to recreate them. Oh by the way, I now have a back up drive AND Carbonite Online back up. Would hate to go around that mountain again!

I would be very interested in your "book" of paper piecing to create new "critters" from Cricut Cartridges. Your creations are beautiful.
