Hello Fall Card | Video | Sneak Peeks

HELLLOOOOO (in my best Mrs. Doubtfire voice),
It has been a while! Yes, I am still around and did not fall off the face of the earth! I have been recovering from a bit of a fall I had earlier this year. I went to my beautiful niece Tori's wedding and wouldn't you know it.... I fell! Yep, did a total face plant that night when we were back at my beloved SIL's home and unloading the vehicles. It was dark and I had to walk in the grass and well, I just didn't see the "dip" and stepped in and lost my footing. As almost all of us will do, I stuck my hands out to attempt to break my fall. In the process of doing that, I injured BOTH shoulders. UGH!!! It was quite a recovery. I still have pain in my right shoulder and try not to let it get me down.  All things considered, it could have been so much worse. So thank you Lord for the gift of healing!  Anyway, enough about that... on to some crafting!

To get back into the swing of things, I decided to join a challenge. You can find them all over blog land and Facebook. They are a lot of fun and can really spark your creativity. So I joined the RG Ave community challenge on FB and this week's challenge was to create something fall inspired.
Here is my card. It is a top folding A2 card. I started with a white cardstock base.

For the main mat, I created a mask in my Cricut maker. I then used the handwritten background stamp to create the background stamped circle. I then used some Sugar Drops to splatter some color.

For the flowers, I colored them with my Copic markers and then added some Cinnamon Stickles to the centers for a little bit of pizzazz. I used the digital version of the Filled Garden stamp set for the floral images.

Here is a closer look at the background mat. I added in some twine and sequins.

For the sentiment, I stamped the word hello onto some cardstock and then cut the strip out and tucked it under the floral cluster. I cut the edge on an angle for a little bit of interest.

Here is one last look at my finished card. For the background paper, I used a piece from the DCWV Sweater Weather stack. It is an older stack so not sure if you can still get it.

Be sure to head over to the RG Ave. FB community page and join the challenge. They are a lot of fun, for sure! Don't forget to watch my video as I have a SNEAK PEEK at next week's project and a SNEAK, SNEAK PEEK of my upcoming Christmas crafting event!!! YEP...It is going to be a TON O' FUN!

Make sure and hit me up on IG, FB and YT (links below) as that is where you will find me and all my free files!
Until the next time, have a wonderfully crafty day!

  1. I am so sorry about your fall Melinda! I know how that feels as I had a bad fall myself in the spring, Friday morning of Memorial Weekend. Put me out of commission a good part of the summer. I smacked my jawline on the nightstand, fell and broke ribs in the front and back. Was a bruised up mess with lots of pain from my ribs. Bret ended up working from home for a week to take care of me and the dogs. Lets pray we don't fall again! I've had to many, but like you thank the good Lord because it could have been worse. I could have broken my back, jaw and whatever else. So I'm thankful too. Love this beautiful fall card. It is just stunning! Hugs, Brenda
