CraftyMelinda.com: DCWV Stackaholic Challenge Card

Hello crafty friends,
Hope you are having an enjoyable day! Today I am sharing a card I recently created for the DCWV Monthly Stackaholic Challenge! I like most of you have some DCWV stacks and love to play along with them each month. Here is what is my card.

Here’s a look at my completed card. The finished size is 5 x 6.5 inches. I started with a black cardstock base. The patterned papers are from the DCWV Scripts and Music Notes Stack. The challenge is to follow along with the sketch provided.

Here is a closer look at my butterflies. They are a stamp from a fun stampers journey set that I picked up on one of Richard Garay’s Deals of the Day. So I am guessing it is a discontinued stamp set with matching dies. I stamped them with some black ink and then used a water color pencil to softly color some pink. I then used my Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Brush pen to soften the pink and add just a real soft touch of glitter. The picture doesn’t show the glitter too well.

I used some fun stampers journey sequins from the Bloom Time sequins.

I used my EK Success Daisy Punch punches to cut some flower shapes from the gorgeous vellum paper that came in the stack. I added some more sequins to the centers of the flowers.

I cut a strip of black licorice cardstock and then stamped a happy birthday sentiment in Whip Cream ink. The stamp is from the fsj Sentimental Prints stamp set. I used some black Canson Photo Corners and some white cardstock under the Vellum. I added a bow with some ribbon I had in my stash. This is one of those cards I like to call “Unplugged”. In other words, I didn’t use any of my electronic die cutters to create this card.
