Hello crafty friends,
I hope you are having a wonderful day. For those that celebrate the fall feasts of our Lord Yeshua, it is a wonderful time of celebration. Rosh Hashanah marks the new year. This year is special as it is a Shemittah year. This can best be described as a year of release. It is the seven year mark. Often Rosh Hashanah is symbolized with people giving and sharing apples and honey. This is to wish each other a good and sweet new year. L’Shanah Tovah!!! So here is a card I made for the festivities that I never got around to posting.
Here’s a look at my finished card. The finished size is 5 x 6.5. I started with a white cardstock base. I then used a kraft mat and then the patterned papers are from the DCWV Handy Dandy and Timeless Textures Stacks
Here’s a picture showing the pre-printed digital image. I then took my CTMH colored pencils and added in some color for shading. I used my blending pen to gently blend the coloring in with the pre-printed part.
Here is a shot showing the blending of the apples. I proceeded to add more colors to the lid of the honey jar and the rest of the image.
This is a closer look at the finished picture. After adding all of the shading. I did this with plain 110lb cardstock. You just need to be careful that you don’t add too much solution with the blending pen or your paper will start to deteriorate and ball up.
Here’s a closer look at the daisies and foliage. I inked the edges of the petals and added some bronze stickles to the centers to give them a bit of dimension.
