So as we get ready for Valentine’s day this week, I thought I would showcase a couple more “love-themed” cards that would be quick and easy to make. Here is the first one today.
Here’s a look at my finished card. The size is 5 x 6.5. I started with a kraft cardstock base. I then added a white cardstock mat. I then layered a pink cardstock mat onto that. One of the challenges I entered this in had the perfect photo inspiration: color palette. This was from the Card Concept challenge and I would have to say my style would either be classy and elegant or freestyle collage...something in between...lol
The pink cardstock mat(shown here) didn’t go the whole width of the white mat. I then used my geometric backgrounds stamp set and used the diagonal striped stamp along with my Saddle ink pad to stamp the stripes onto the white cardstock.
After I did that, I created a scalloped border cut with some more kraft cardstock and then used another piece of white cardstock to stamp the checker background again with the Saddle Ink pad.
Once I had prepared the base mats, I adhered that to the kraft cardstock card base and then turned to my cascading heart die cut. I used some more white cardstock and then stamped the hearts from the Forever In My Heart Stamp set to stamp the various hearts. I used my Flaxen Ink Pad, My Cotton Candy Ink Pad and my Whisper Ink Pad along with my chocolate ink pad to stamp the hearts in various colors. The You’re Sweet Sentiment also a part of the same stamp set, was stamped onto a coordinating die cut and with my saddle ink pad.
Red Lines correspond with cuts from the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.
I have also created coordinating SVG cuts for this stamp set. I will be sharing these files FREE with any size purchase this month from my Close To My Heart Link.
Lastly, I adhered the heart die cut to the card base with some foam tape and of course, I added some ribbon and some brown gems. I did also use my Saddle ink pad to sponge some ink around the pink and white diagonal striped mat to tie it all together.
Here is one last look at the finished card.
This is the SVG file set for this card that I created. Again, the cascading heart die cut corresponds to stamps from the Forever In My Heart stamp set. This is also part of the free file set you can get with ANY SIZE purchase on my CTMH link.
