I hope your week is going well. Today's project continues with featuring the Stamp of The Month stamp set. There are only DAYS left to get this super cute and versatile set before it is gone!
So here is what I came up with.
Beautiful layout featuring the Stamp of the Month to create the flowers, Treasured Friendship stamp set and the gorgeous Seaside Paper Pack.
Here’s a closer look at the pretty flowers I created with this month’s stamp of the month. I stamped them using my Juniper ink pad and then colored them in with my marigold marker. For the centers I used some gold sequins and then added a brown gem from the sparkles brown and tan assortment set.
Here’s a closer look at the border. I used some champagne cardstock and then tore the edge. I inked the torn edge with my dessert sand ink pad to simulate sand. I added the zip strip behind the torn layer to give the appearance of a sand dune fence in the distance.
Here’s a closer look at some of the shells. I stamped them with my desert sand ink pad and then colored them with my various Touch Twin markers and some of my colored pencils. Once I colored them in, I added just a touch of diamond stickles to give them just a bit of glistening shine. I also added some more gold sequins and some more of the brown gems around the shells and flowers.
Here’s a closer look at my title. I used some of the wonderful May Arts Burlap ribbon. I cut the edges and inked them to give them more of a beach-weathered look. I stamped the sentiment onto some Champagne cardstock with my desert sand ink pad. I finished off the look of the title by adding in a couple of brads from the Rosewood Assortment set.
Flower Tutorial
Here’s how I did the title
Start with some of the May Arts Natural White Wired Burlap Ribbon. I trimmed off the wire on both edges and pulled a thread or two from each side.
Next I took my piece of cut burlap ribbon and “dabbed” the edges into my desert sand ink pad. Sorry the photo is blurry, but you get the idea. I did this instead of using a sponge to ink the edges as I wanted a more intense color and using the sponge will pull some of the threads from the edges and I did want that either.
Here is what the inked edges looks like versus a plain piece.
Here’s my finished piece ready for my title. TIP: to adhere this to my layout, I used a regular glue stick. The consistency of the glue stick allowed it to grab to the fibers of the ribbon and allowed it to adhere nicely to my background paper.
Here’s one last look at my layout.
