Good morning crafty friends!
Today is a day that many are setting aside as a grass roots National Day of Prayer. I hope that you will join me and many others in lifting up our Country. I would like to take just a moment to express a prayer for our beloved country…
Heavenly Father, we come to you in the mighty and wonderful name of Jesus. We gather together as a nation and ask for your unending love and mercy. Lord as we remember the tragic events that unfolded on this day in our nation’s history back in 2001, we are reminded that apart from you, Lord we can accomplish nothing. Father, I thank you for allowing me to be a part of America. Lord I pray and ask for your forgiveness where we have gone astray. Lord, I humbly ask that you show us as a nation where we have gone away from you and that we will repent and turn from our wicked ways. Father, you have a plan and I pray that you will be merciful to our country. Father help us to see the harbingers that you have allowed to be revealed and humble ourselves before it is too late. Lord, I pray for the families of all the lives that were lost on that day in 2001. I pray for your continued grace and mercy in their lives. I pray that you will hear from heaven and forgive our sins as a nation and individually and heal our land. Lord may your steadfast love continue to call us and challenge us to walk this world according to your Word and not our own ideas and own self-righteousness. May we return to your mighty Word (Torah) and be found honoring you with all that we have and all that we are. Father none of us are perfect and I thank you that you see each of us through the finished work of your cross. Make us bold and yet loving, strong as a mighty oak, yet merciful just as you. Father we pray that your will be done here on earth as it surely is in heaven. Thank you for loving us and hearing our prayers. In the mighty and loving name of Jesus (Yeshua HaMashiach) we pray….amen!
Now on to my project. Today I am sharing a card I created with this week’s free digi from PaperCraftingWorld.com. You can head over to the new team blog and grab the link on Friday’s post: HERE. Remember the freebie is only free for one week and every Friday, they share a new one!
I created this card using the designer papers from DCWV Handy Dandy and the Timeless Texture stacks. I made a card on Saturday using the same papers. I am a firm believer in “waste not…want not, so I actually managed to get three cards done by using these wonderful papers along with some cardstock.
I used my Copic Markers to color in the digi. I mounted it on some Green cardstock. The base of the card is made of kraft paper and then I used a white mat to make the beautiful red texture paper from the DCWV Timeless Texture stack pop. That pretty yellow patterned paper is from the DCWV Handy Dandy Stack. I simply mounted that on some white cardstock and inked the edges with my Goldrush Ink Pad from CTMH’s Enchantment Ink Set. I cut the flowers from some Golden Yellow cardstock and inked and shaped the petals.
Here is an angled close up to show the dimension of the flowers after I gently curled the petals.
Here is another close up shot showing the centers. I used the Frayed Burlap Distress Stickles.
Here’s a shot showing just the fence. I cut it out of my Pazzles and then chalked the edges and added some “nail holes” and some lines with my pen to give it a distressed and peeling paint-aged wood look.
Finally, here is one last look at the finished card.
I used the following products to complete this card
Copic Markers
| ||
Sakura Micron Pen
| ||
Pazzles Chalking Tool |
Additional Products
Green, White, Golden Yellow, Kraft and Brown Cardstock
As I was trolling around blog land, I realized this card fit perfectly into the current die cut challenge over at SOUS Challenges! So I am entering it in that challenge :-)
