Good morning Friends,
Today’s post is for the Creative Cutter Room Design Team. We are having a mini hop Patriotic Style! Here is the direct link to start at the beginning.
So in keeping with our hop and with our Week of Graphic 45 sponsorship this is what I came up with.
http://www.mypapercrafting.com/2011/02/patriotic-mini-hop-and-little-blog.html
Here is a view of my layout. I used the Graphic 45 Playtimes Past Life’s A Ball Paper.
The required elements for the hop – challenge are:
At least one buttonThe required elements for the hop – challenge are:
Banner or Flag
Some Type of Metal Embellishment
3-D Element
Here is a close up shot of the Liberty Bell. I cut it out from the Cricut 4th of July Cartridge. The Flag is a K & Company embellishment.
Here is a close up of the liberty bell die cut.
I started with a plain white die cut. I sponged Gold Ink on it. I Dabbed or pounced the paint. I wanted it to look rough and not smooth.
I inked the top of the base die cut with Jumbo Java Dew Drop Ink. I covered it lightly and then went back and made some deeper “lines” with the ink by inking with the edge of the pad.
Here is the Rosette I created and again, I used the Life’s A Beach Paper from Graphic 45. I added a nice button to the top.
Here is a close up shot of the scripture verse I added. It is one of the verses our church is memorizing for the year. It says:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
What an awesome promise from the most high God!

ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic layout! It makes me wanna work on layouts instead of cards. All the details really add to the finished look. GREAT job and thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI love this layout but I really love that rosetta. I have made one and it was a lot of trouble. Was thinking about ordering Tim Hotz's die but I only have a Cuttlebug and not sure that long die would work. I would love to win a cutting file and if I don't win one perhaps buy one.

ReplyDeleteLove your layout. Nice way to use the rosette file. Thank you for sharing your layout with us.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely stunning! I love the patriotic theme and what you did with that bell to make it look so realistic. Just wondering if you are taking the class "Memorizing the Word" at your church? A gazillion years ago... well in the late 70's anyway... I took that course and have fond memories of driving with my best friend out to attend Bible college in Los Angeles and both of us repeating ALL the scriptures we had learned in that class every day. Gee, I wonder how many I could repeat now?
