Cartridge Showcase: Nate's ABCs

Hey Everyone!
I hope you are all doing well and almost ready for school to start again! You are some lucky ladies because today Chef Xochitl is here today showcasing the Nate's ABC's cartridge!! She has really made some awesome projects with it! So without further adieu.... here She is:

Welcome to another edition of  Cooking with Cricut cartridge showcase!!!  This time around I am showing you some projects using the stylish and very boy-chic NATE'S ABC

This cartridge is full of cute and stylish images that are geared for boy projects. However, you can always substitute the blues on some of those and make the cutest girl themed projects as well. Since I have a handsome little boy and no girls, I opted to stay with the boyish theme colors, I really like the color palette they used on the sample images, very subtle and cuuuuute!

For my first card I used the cute little snail and created an easel card.

For this project my son got to pick the colors and since green is his favorite color we went with different shades of green.  For this one I used the doggy treats title, but since the cut only has one color for both words, I cut the phrase 3 times and manually cut the letters so I could use the different shades of green.

For my second card I wanted to make it girly but still stay with the color scheme of the cartridge.  I used a bright orange as the accent color and used a flowery background from Imaginisce to add a little girlish flair.

Thank you for stopping by, hope you enjoyed the projects I brought for you. Please feel free to share your projects using this gorgeous cartridge.

Wow girl!! All three of your projects are amazing!! I really like the dog treat idea, and I also really like how your cards both look so sophisticated! You really Rocked it out!!

Now go over to Chef Xochitl's blog and leave her some bloggy love!

Be sure to come back tomorrow as Chef Madison announces the winners from our last challenge.

Frame Cutting Tutorial-Nate's ABC Cartridge

Good morning Crafters,

Today’s post is for the Creative Cutter Room Quick Tip Tuesday. I created this layout using Nate’s ABC Cartridge.

My tip is: I used only one sheet of “Yellow” cardstock to complete this layout. I did this by “cutting out” the inside of the yellow to create a “frame”.
This is a great option when you have only 1 piece of cardstock of a particular color to work with.

STEP 1
Using your cutter, line your paper up to the 11” inch mark.

STEP 2
Be sure to start your cut or blade at 1”

STEP 3
Trim your paper but only to the 11” mark. Do NOT cut all the way “through”.

Once you have done this, turn your paper a quarter turn and repeat three more times. Once this is completed, your “center” piece will come out. You will have a 12 x 12 frame with a 1” thickness. Conversely, you will have a 10 x 10’ piece of yellow left over.

Here is a shot of what the completed layout looks like in the back. Again, this is a great alternative when you only have one piece of a particular color cardstock and you need to stretch it out. Please note: this doesn’t work out quite as well if you are using “thinner” grade paper. The cardstock I used in this project was Bazzill.
