Cartridge Showcase: Graphically Speaking

Hello, and welcome to our Cartridge Showcase.  This week, our featured design team member is Kaylee from 104 Cards For Soldiers.  And Kaylee is featuring the cartridge Graphically Speaking.  So, sit back and enjoy the showcase.

It's my favorite Cricut cartridge.  I really like the basic shapes and outlines.  All the phrases have icons that go with them, and a lot of the phases themselves have been turned into a graphic image.  The images remind me of street signs-they are super basic and easy to understand.  It makes combining and layering them very easy, like I did on the Valentine card for my husband.  The look is very crisp, clean, and basic, yet not boring.

I usually use the cartridge for putting titles on my scrapbook pages.  I like that I can layer a word over an image to make it more interesting to look at.  I also like how the words are condensed together and don't take up much room.

I also made a reminder pad.  I made it on chipboard with a magnetic base so that it can stick to my refrigerator.  I'm going to coat it in a sealant, so that I can write on it with dry erase markers-making it reusable.   My favorite part is the little knotted string that I added-it makes me chuckle.

The final thing that I made was a bookmark.  I used my Gypsy to combine the blackout image of a sign and the readers for the background.  I then cut the outline and phrase of the readers on red paper.  It was so easy and is really cute

Thanks for joining us today.  We hope you will come back daily to see all the amazing creations of our oh so talented design team.  Remember to drop by Kaylee's Blog and leave her some lovely comments.  Have a great week!

I used the beautiful Savvy Davvy Designer Paper From Quick Quotes as well as their new Vintage Alphabet – Savvy Davvy Set (SAM) and the adorable quotes are from the babies, kids & Families Itty Bitty Box Set. The top ten, the list and number border die cuts are from the Graphically Speaking Cricut Cartridge.

Here is a close up of one of the Quick Quotes Quotes that I used. I wanted to show here how I was able to stick the vellum quote onto the paper without showing any of the adhesive! I use a very common trick of “following the letters” in the back with my adhesive pen.
