Cartridge Showcase: Give A Hoot

Hello everyone and welcome to our cartridge showcase this week.  Today is Earth Day...so it is only fitting that we showcase the wonderful GIVE A HOOT cartridge. Hang on to your creative hats, we have FOUR designers sharing with you today!

Our first designer, Sheena, from Dew Drops & Glue Dots joins us today for her first cartridge showcase.  And wow, are you going to love what she is bringing!!  So, take it away Sheena!!

Flower: Page 56
Info:I made this card for my Mother for Mother's day in 2012. I liked how that flower looked really big, it is an Accent on the Give A Hoot cartridge.

Flower: page 60.
I made this for my parents for their Anniversary a couple years ago. I like using the Accent feature on Give A Hoot a lot. When made big, they look really cute.

Card base is page 65

Fawn, page 56
Natural Beauty Phrase page 41
I like trying to make shaped cards using just one cartridge and the Give A Hoot cartridge gives so many options to do that. Give A Hoot is one of my favorite cartridges to use. Always great cuts for all kinds of occasions.

Hasn't Sheena brought us some great projects?!!  You will want to visit her blog, Dew Drops & Glue Dots to see more of her talent and leave her some lovely comments.

And our next designer is Sandy, from A Little Piece of Heaven.

Sandy also used the adorable Piles of Smiles Crow Digi to complete her card.  You can visit Sandy at her blog, A Little Piece of Heaven to see more of her wonderful creations.  Please remember to leave her some love while you are there.

I have a few projects from Give a Hoot to share with you too.
I am Charlotte, from A Little Bit Of Detail
Bunny: Page 72
This first one is a sweet Easter card.  And I mean sweet because it is all about chocolate.  The eggs, flowers, and grass are all from the Easter 2010 cartridge.  And the adorable bunny is cut from Give A Hoot.  The label, Capture, is from a set that I found in the $1.00 bin at JoAnns.  I added some green glitter glue to the grass and leaves and a sweet pink ribbon to the card to complete the project.

 Friends: Page 42
This next card I have is all about fantasy.  Isn't this little boat of critters from Give A Hoot just  full of all kinds of fun!  I added some little orange gems to the boat for and a sweet little heart sticker that says love.  The sentiment is from a K Andrew design stamp set.  And I just had to add the pretty sheer ribbon and bow to the card to complete the whimsy.

This next card has one of my very favorite owl cuts on it.  The card began with a sketch from  Mojo Monday.  I love the sketch and have used it often.  The owl and the leaves are from Give A Hoot.  And the sentiment, is from a stamp set I got from Oriental Trading.

And now here is another card using the same owl cut.

This card begins with a doily cut with a die from Cherry Lynn Designs.  The flourish of leaves is also from Cherry Lynn Designs.  this card has that same little adorable owl on it.  The owl is embossed with a leaves folder.  I added the little glittered flowers to give the branch a little pop!  The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs.  And the card is embellished with some little blue pearls and a pretty orange crinkle ribbon bow.

And now, here is one more card I wish to share with you.  I originally made this card for a previous cartridge showcase when I showcased the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.  The acorn shaped card is from Autumn Celebrations.  I added pretty ecru lace and a sheer ribbon to the front of the card.

Squirrel: Page 71
This adorable little squirrel is a cut from Give A Hoot!  I just love it because of the beautiful cut design on its tail.  I inked around the squirrel with bronze.

And I just had to share the sentiment with you.  I just don't think I could have found a better sentiment for this little squirrel and acorn card than this.  It is from a Joy's Life stamp set.

Lastly, here's a card by Melin
Earth Heart: Page 39
The heart started out as two plain white cardstock cuts. I used my Cat's Eye Chalk Inks to give the "earth-land" some varying shades of yellow, green and brown and the water varying shades of blue. The Designer Patterned Paper is from the Die Cuts With A View- Fresh Floral Stack. The scripture sentiment, is from psalm 24 and I made it in my word program.

I invite you to visit me (Charlotte) at my blog, A Little Bit Of Detail.  It has been such a pleasure sharing this fun cartridge with you this week.  Please come back next Monday for another fabulous showcase.  Thank you Sheena and Sandy for sharing your talent with us.

Cartridge Showcase: Serenade

nat beauty bear cu-500RR-mpc
Good morning crafty friends,
I wanted to share a couple of layouts I created for a Cartridge Showcase that I wasn't able to get done in time last week. Had a pesky little thing like TAXES to take care of lol!
The Cartridge is the Serenade Lite Cartridge.

Natural Beauty

View of the entire layout. I created the cute little bears from cuts on the Serenade cartridge.
The flowers and stems were also from the Serenade Cartridge. The Natural Beauty was from
the Give A Hoot Cartridge as the Serenade cartridge doesn’t have any titles or fonts.

Closer look at the flowers and foliage. I layered the flowers and used a pop dot so that
the photos will slide under any overhang easily.

Close up of the natural beauty title. This title came from the Give A Hoot cartridge.
Unfortunately the Serenade cartridge doesn’t have any titles or font on it.
Products Used

Sweet Spring

View of the entire layout. Again all the die cuts are from the Serenade cartridge
with the exception of the title. That came from the Hello Kitty Font cartridge.

Here is a closer look at the cute little bear sitting and holding her flower.

bear with flower pot-500
Here is a closer look at the little bear standing up and holding her flower pot with flowers.

bow-500
I always like to wrap one of the larger photo mats with a ribbon or extra embellishment.
I think it adds a nice touch and makes one of the pictures a focal picture Smile

butterflies-500
Here is a closer look at some of the butterflies. I cut the base layer in plain white cardstock
and then again in patterned paper. I glued the patterned paper to the base to give it more strength.
Then I cut the corresponding decorative top piece in white and stickled that.

flowers-500
Here is a closer look at some of the pretty Prima flowers I added.
I used an EK Punch for the little decorative flourishes.

Finally, a closer view of the little butterflies and the the lettering for the word “sweet” on the title.

Cartridge Showcase: Give A Hoot

Welcome to our Market Fresh Mondaze Cartridge Showcase.  This week our fabulous designer, Evelyn, from My Little Craft Blog, has another great showcase for you from the Give A Hoot cartridge. Take it away Evelyn!

This is Evelyn from  My Little Craft Blog,  again with another Market Fresh Mondays cartridge showcase. This week, I'm featuring Give a Hoot. This cartridge has lots of great cuts on it. It also has simple two-layer accents that coordinate with the main image on each page, and there is a shadow for both the main image and the accent. There’s a two-layer charm feature as well as some really great borders, that are also two layers. It has such cute environmental-friendly phrases such as Go Green, Nature Lover, Recycle, Coexist.

I used the main image on these scrapbook pages:

Here’s an example of the charm feature used on a card:

Here are a couple examples of the phrases:

I used the next image on page 32 without the eggs for a co-worker whose only child was heading off to college:

I cut the base accent shamrock on page 41 at around 11 inches to use as a background for a Saint Patrick’s Day parade page:

Most of the images on this cartridge are cute, but there are several on the last row that have beautiful flourishes on them. I used two – the snail and the rabbit – to adorn a gift bag for a co-worker who was running a marathon!

Here is a note card I made just for this showcase. I used the fawn on page 52.

You probably have this cartridge on a shelf somewhere! Take it out and get reacquainted with it. I think you’ll fall in love with it all over again!
