Apples n Honey New Year Rosh Hashannah Card With Colored Pencil Blending Tip

Hello crafty friends,
I hope you are having a wonderful day. For those that celebrate the fall feasts of our Lord Yeshua, it is a wonderful time of celebration. Rosh Hashanah marks the new year. This year is special as it is a Shemittah year. This can best be described as a year of release. It is the seven year mark. Often Rosh Hashanah is symbolized with people giving and sharing apples and honey. This is to wish each other a good and sweet new year. L’Shanah Tovah!!!  So here is a card I made for the festivities that I never got around to posting.

Here’s a look at my finished card. The finished size is 5 x 6.5. I started with a white cardstock base. I then used a kraft mat and then the patterned papers are from the DCWV Handy Dandy and Timeless Textures Stacks

Here’s a picture showing the pre-printed digital image. I then took my CTMH colored pencils and added in some color for shading. I used my blending pen to gently blend the coloring in with the pre-printed part.

Here is a shot showing the blending of the apples. I proceeded to add more colors to the lid of the honey jar and the rest of the image.

This is a closer look at the finished picture. After adding all of the shading. I did this with plain 110lb cardstock. You just need to be careful that you don’t add too much solution with the blending pen or your paper will start to deteriorate and ball up.

Here’s a closer look at the daisies and foliage. I inked the edges of the petals and added some bronze stickles to the centers to give them a bit of dimension.

Supplies Used
White, Kraft, Green, Maize and Brown Cardstock
Creme Brulee Ink Pad
Brown Stickles
Blending Pen
DCWV Timeless Textures Stack
DCWV Handy Dandy Stack

Fall Card Using Free Digi 9-11 Prayer

Good morning crafty friends!
Today is a day that many are setting aside as a grass roots National Day of Prayer. I hope that you will join me and many others in lifting up our Country. I would like to take just a moment to express a prayer for our beloved country…

Heavenly Father, we come to you in the mighty and wonderful name of Jesus. We gather together as a nation and ask for your unending love and mercy. Lord as we remember the tragic events that unfolded on this day in our nation’s history back in 2001, we are reminded that apart from you, Lord we can accomplish nothing. Father, I thank you for allowing me to be a part of America. Lord I pray and ask for your forgiveness where we have gone astray. Lord, I humbly ask that you show us as a nation where we have gone away from you and that we will repent and turn from our wicked ways. Father, you have a plan and I pray that you will be merciful to our country. Father help us to see the harbingers that you have allowed to be revealed and humble ourselves before it is too late. Lord, I pray for the families of all the lives that were lost on that day in 2001. I pray for your continued grace and mercy in their lives. I pray that you will hear from heaven and forgive our sins as a nation and individually and heal our land. Lord may your steadfast love continue to call us and challenge us to walk this world according to your Word and not our own ideas and own self-righteousness. May we return to your mighty Word (Torah) and be found honoring you with all that we have and all that we are. Father none of us are perfect and I thank you that you see each of us through the finished work of your cross. Make us bold and yet loving, strong as a mighty oak, yet merciful just as you. Father we pray that your will be done here on earth as it surely is in heaven. Thank you for loving us and hearing our prayers. In the mighty and loving name of Jesus (Yeshua HaMashiach) we pray….amen!

Now on to my project. Today I am sharing a card I created with this week’s free digi from PaperCraftingWorld.com. You can head over to the new team blog and grab the link on Friday’s post: HERE. Remember the freebie is only free for one week and every Friday, they share a new one!
sunflower svg card 475b
I created this card using the designer papers from DCWV Handy Dandy and the Timeless Texture stacks. I made a card on Saturday using the same papers. I am a firm believer in “waste not…want not, so I actually managed to get three cards done by using these wonderful papers along with some cardstock.

I used my Copic Markers to color in the digi. I mounted it on some Green cardstock. The base of the card is made of kraft paper and then I used a white mat to make the beautiful red texture paper from the DCWV Timeless Texture stack pop. That pretty yellow patterned paper is from the DCWV Handy Dandy Stack. I simply mounted that on some white cardstock and inked the edges with my Goldrush Ink Pad from CTMH’s Enchantment Ink Set. I cut the flowers from some Golden Yellow cardstock and inked and shaped the petals.

Here is an angled close up to show the dimension of the flowers after I gently curled the petals.

Here is another close up shot showing the centers. I used the Frayed Burlap Distress Stickles.

fence decorated-475
Here’s a shot showing just the fence. I cut it out of my Pazzles and then chalked the edges and added some “nail holes” and some lines with my pen to give it a distressed and peeling paint-aged wood look.

Q.T. Patootie Honee Card

Happy Monday crafty friends!
Hope your weekend was a wonderfully blessed one! Today I am sharing a card I created with one of the new QT Patootie Digi’s from PaperCraftingWorld.com.
She is the adorable QT P. Honee digi. I also used the Sunflower card file from PCW too.
svg bountifall blessings qt patootie card 475
Here’s my card.  I used the black and white image and colored her in with my Copic Markers. I then backed the image onto a piece of designer paper from the  DCWV Handy Dandy Stack. I wasn't too sure about this stack until I opened it up and really looked at all the papers. This is a great stack!  Then the Green, Red and Brown designer patterned papers are from the DCWV Timeless Texture Stack. I used the Bounti-fall Blessings sentiment and punched it out with my circle punch. I then punched out a scalloped circle and added the mini paper clip and the pretty sheer bow. The bounti-fall blessings is a sentiment to wish the recipient much blessing into the new year and to thank them for their loving kindness.

Here is a closer look at my QT P. Honee colored digi. She is holding the apple and honey as it is tradition during this season to enjoy apples and honey during the Hebraic Roots of our Christian faith’s honoring of this season.

svg sunflower closeup 475
Here is a closer look at one of the sunflowers. I used the sunflower svg file from the Sunflower card file set from PCW and made the cute sunflowers and the green foliage.
For the centers, I simply added a touch of the Frayed Burlap distress stickles. I wanted the grainy texture of the distressed stickles. I used my Enchantment Ink set from CTMH to lightly ink the flowers with the Goldrush ink pad and the Olive Ink pad to edge the digi. I used my regular sized Saddle Ink Pad for the edges of the red and brown DCWV patterned papers.
