Shamrock Die Cut Card

Hello crafty friends,
Hope you’re having a great day. It’s another Terrific Tuesday and that means it’s time for another project featuring some wonderful goodness from Scrapyland.com So here is what I am sharing with you today.

shamrock cards-480
Here’s a look at my finished card. This is another “unplugged” card. My definition of “unplugged” means no electronic die cut machines used. No electricity. The finished size of the card is 5.5. x 5.5. The patterned background paper is from the DCWV Sweet Stack.  made this super cute shamrock featuring a heart shaped die from die versions. I just cut three of them out of the Glittery green paper from the Die Cuts With A View Cotton Bloom Stack and then lined them up and then cut apart a piece for the “stem”

Sunshine Bendi Card

Hello crafty friends,
So glad you dropped by today. Boy this has been a last crazy week and a half. I have been struggling with lots of computer issues. I am glad to say that I have at least regained use of my blog writing software and that I can now concentrate on some other issues and then get past those too Smile  Today I wanted to share a card I made for the Pazzles DT. The challenge on the Pazzles craft room this month is to create a Bendi Fold card. Here’s my take on this super fun card.

bendi card pazzles svg-480
Here is a look at my finished card. It was created with papers from the DCWV Baby Boy Stack and the DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack as well as some cardstock. I started by using the Pazzles small Bendi Fold Card Base. I took one of the “arms” and substituted it for the dog and fence file. I also made the top of the other “arm” layer wavy.

Here is a closer look at the pretty little sun. I was speaking with my Sister in law a while back and they recently moved out of state and she said to me…send some sunshine our way….so that is why I went with this theme. So “T” this is for you Smile The sun is made from patterned papers in the DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack.  I just made the eyes and the now in the file bigger and drew my mouth on with a fine tip pen.

I then used the tree file from the craft room and cut it out of some dcwv paper in the baby boy stack. I added a few tiny butterflies from my MS punch that was quickly and easily accessible. I cut out some clouds from the rainbow and clouds craft room file and inked the edges with some crystal blue ink from the Whimsy Ink Pad Set.

Here is a closer look at the fence. I created it by using the dog and fence craft room file instead of the base cut that came in the small base bendi file.

I wanted to use some of that popular “wood” looking patterned paper, but I didn’t have any that suited the cut well so I used some diaper paper from the DCWV baby boy stack….YEP that’s right….DIAPER PAPER. That is what gave it that great “wood” painted with lines kind of look.

Here’s a shot showing you the cuts from the diaper paper. Of course I will save the rest for another project, but I hope this will inspire you to look at your paper differently.

Here is a view of the card opened. There was a great open spot that I was able to put my sentiment on. I could have really gone wild decorating this card. But I purposely wanted to keep it really clean and simple.

Here is a closer look at my sentiment. One of the wonderful things about the Pazzles Inspiration software is that it allows you to print right from the program. This is a great design tool-feature in that you know exactly what size to make your sentiments, etc.

Treat Boxes and Freebie

Happy Saturday crafty friends,
Hope you’re weekend has been a good one so far. Today I am sharing a couple of really cute treat boxes I made with files from PaperCraftingWorld.com. First up:

Candy Corn Treat Box
candy corn box-480
Here is my Candy Corn Treat Box. I used some wonderful patterned papers from the DCWV Sunday Afternoon (Chevron) and Baby Girl (Orange Squares) Stacks. Along with some American Crafts White Textured cardstock. I used my Sakura black fine tip pen to do the faux stitching around the outer edge.

candy corn box handle-480
Here is a side view of the handle. It is designed to look like smaller versions of the candy corn attached together. I thought that was such a cute idea as opposed to just a regular handle.

ccorn box top handle-480
Here is a top shot showing the handle. When layering the pieces of the handle together, you want to use a good strong adhesive to allow for the curve of the papers.

Here is a close up of one of the free printable tags from the Tag set offered by PCW. You can head over to the PCW  design team blog and pick up the link to get yours. Don’t delay as they are only available for a week and then a new freebie is available. A new freebie goes up every Friday.

Pumpkin Box
pumpkin box layered-480b
Here is my second treat box. A cute little Pumpkin shaped box. I used some more of the fabulous orange patterned paper from the DCWV Baby Girl Stack and for the green leaf and handle, I used a pretty green patterned paper from the DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack. On this side I used one of the nested layers and inked the edges with my Sunset Ink pad from CTMH Adventure Mini Ink Pad Set. I also used another one of the printable tags from the freebie set. I added an orange eyelet and threaded some burlap cord from May Arts through. I inked the stem with some of my Saddle Ink Pad and then edged the leaf and vine piece with my New England Ivy Ink Pad. I used my black fine tip pen to make some faux stitching around the edges of both pumpkin layers. I finished off this side with a pretty black with white polka dot ribbon bow.

pumpkin box face side-480
Here is a view of the other side of the pumpkin box. The cut file includes nesting layers of the pumpkin shape as well as cuts for this cute face. Once again I inked the stem and vine as well as the face. For the face, I used my Sunset Ink Pad from the Adventure Mini Ink Pad Set from CTMH

pumpkin box side-480
Here is a side shot of the handle. I inked the edge of it with my New England Ivy Ink Pad and then added a green matching brad with some layered circle and scallop punch cut outs.

Both boxes come out fairly good sized. the boxes measure approximately 2 1/4 (2 1/5)  x 4 x 3. Several small candies fit nicely in each one.
