Cartridge Showcase: Cindy Loo

Hello everyone it's Natt  ( Tinynatt ) here with you today to share with you on cartridge showcase.

Cartridge today is " Cindy Loo"

This cartridge is one of the very first cartridge I bough when I got my Cricut machine and also I use it a lot in so many projects.

With cute critters shapes and fun alphabet that come along with adorable frames this cartridge is turn to be very handy when it times for you to crate an easy project to brighten the day.

Let's take a look at what I've made using this cartridge.

" Home sweet home "
I love making home decor using embroidery loop because it's cheaper than photo frame lol
On this project I cut < squirrel > and layers on fabric at 2" then < tree > and layers at 5".
Iron them on linen put on embroidery loop.
Add buttons and hand embroidered word HOME SWEET HOME on it.

" Yummy "
Napkin for your picnic table.
Cut < doll > and layers on fabric at 3.50"
Cut word YUMMY at 1"
and simply layered then iron them on linen that cut 12"x12".

That's the wrap for this cartridge showcase.
Thank you everyone for stop by and check out my showcase.

Cartridge Showcase: Princess Party

Welcome to CookingWithCricut.com and today's Cartridge Showcase!

This is Chef Jen and I am "hijacking" the blog today to share with you some  projects that I created using the Cricut Events Princess Party cartridge.  This cartridge will allow you to create a party fit for your little princess. From castles to crowns to frog princes, the Princess Party cartridge has designs perfect for invitations, decorations, and party favors.

One of our nieces just celebrated her first birthday and her parents decided they wanted a princess party and asked if I would help out -- knowing full well that I can't resist a good party or one of our sweet nieces.   Melin was kind enough to loan me her brand-new cartridge -- Cricut Events Princess Party!  And boy, have I given it a work out!

The first thing I created with this cartridge was the party invitation.

This cute gate-fold invitation has many layers, but is so worth the effort!  The glitter adds a nice princess-y sparkle.

Up next was a birthday banner and this cartridge has a great pennant shape.  I cut two different sizes and then added text from the George & Basic Shapes cartridge.  The crowns are also from the Princess Party cartridge.

This cartridge also has a cupcake wrapper and a cute little crown that can be used as a topper.

All of the birthday girls and boys receive onesies or shirts from their Aunt Jen (the girls also receive tutus)!  I used the tiara and the word "Princess" from this cart and made Kylie a sweet little onesie using the freezer paper technique.

Here is a picture of the birthday girl modeling her outfit.  Isn't she a cutie-pie!

I also used the crown from this cartridge to decorate some clothespins for a photo "time line."

I made other decorations for the party using the Disney Dreams Come True and Happily Ever After cartridges.  The princesses are about 11" tall.  Kylie's parents are going to frame them after the party and use them to decorate her room.

The Cake Guru at our house made the cutest "Smash Cake!" It has the crown cut from the Princess Party cartridge using the Cricut Cake machine.  The little placard at the bottom was cut out of paper using letters from Cake Basics, Cindy Loo and Calligraphy Collection cartridges.

The final piece of this perfectly pink princess party was the cake.  We used several elements from the Cake Basics (turret and castle toppers) and Tags, Bags, Boxes & More (doors and windows from the rounded top tag cut!) cartridges.  This is the second time we have used our Cricut Cake and I am still amazed at how easy it is to use.  The key is getting your fondant rolled to the correct thickness and then letting it sit for awhile to dry out and stiffen.  The little flags were cut using the Princess Party  pennants -- I welded two together so I could fold them in half around my"flag pole."

Another very successful birthday party for one sweet little girl!  And yes, we spoil our nieces and nephews . . . that's our job!!  I hope you have enjoyed today's showcase!  If you'd like more details, please stop by my blog (check out the party hat and "glass" slipper decorations made using this cartridge, too).

~ Chef Jen

P.S.  Thanks again, Melin, for loaning me your cartridge!

Monday Showcase: Cindy Loo

Good morning and welcome to Cooking With Cricut's Cartridge Showcase.  Each Monday a member of our Design Team will feature a Cricut cartridge of their choice and projects they've made with that cartridge.  We hope you'll be inspired to pull out your cartridges and find new ways to use them!

Hi!  This is Chef Jen and today I'm going to share some projects created with Cindy Loo.  If you haven't explored this cartridge you're missing out!  Not only does it have some great shapes, but it also has a wonderful font, two cupcake wrappers, an envelope with matching card, and a gift card holder.

I created this card as part of one of my fellow Design Team member's incredible outreach project.  Madison started "I Feel the Love" Project in June.  It is a monthly challenge that gives her blog followers the chance to create a card to give someone who may be going through a difficult time.

Last month's recipient was a teacher at her High School who is battling cancer for the second time.  Madison collected 22 cards for Ms. Pentoney!  This month the recipient is a 3 year old girl named Marley, her 5 year old sister Mia and their parents Nikki and Brent.  Marley was diagnosed with a brain tumor near her optic nerve, brain stem and pituitary gland in August 2009.  She has persevered through surgeries, a stroke that left her right side paralyzed, and numerous rounds of chemo.  Madison has already collected 26 cards for Marley and her family this month!

This card is for Marley's parents, Brent and Nikki.   My card base was made using a 10" x 7" piece of card stock from the DCWV Mediterranean paper pack folded in half.  All of the die cuts are from the Cindy Loo cartridge.  Here is the recipe:

  • The mat is an reddish-orange piece of Bazzil card stock cut at 6" x 4".
  • I welded the word "Peace" in Design Studio.  It is 2 1/2" wide.
  • The flower is 4" tall and was created with papers from my scrap stash.
  • The ribbon is 7/8" wide and is a sheer green-gold.
I also created cards for Marley and Mia and they will be featured on my blog later in the week if you'd like to check them out.

Here are some other projects I've created using Cindy Loo.  Each one has a link underneath if you'd like to see the details and other project information.

Thank You card

Joy Layout-Cricut

Hello Everyone,
Here is a layout I made with a couple of challenges in mind. I used the sketch from the SOUS challenge blog this week. Over at Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge blog, our challenge was to use something that would require a blueprint to complete, i.e. a house and in my case, a birdhouse :-)
Here is a view of the entire layout.

This flourish came from the Botanicals Cricut Lite cartridge.

I cut these scalloped circles in three sizes. These were from the Cindy Loo cartridge, but I know other cartridges have a scalloped circle that you can use.

I used the following cartridges to complete this layout:

  1. Botanicals - birdhouse, flourish and JOY lettering
  2. Cindy Loo - Scalloped circles for "flowers"
I used an EK success Daisy punch for the daisy strip and an EK success border punch for the "lacey" looking border.
The Girls' Paperie Patterned Paper - Shabby Flower and Paisley
This paper is double sided so I only used two pieces of paper to get all four patterns :-)
  • I cut ALL the Cricut elements in plain white cardstock.
  • I chalk inked the flourish and JOY letters with dark brown chalk ink.
  • I colored the birdhouse with my copics and then hit it with my dark brown chalk ink to give it a more aged look and to "knock back" the colors.
  • I stamped the white scallops with a MS stamp and then inked the edges with Pastel Pink Chalk Ink. I then added a dew drop in the centers.
  • I punched the Daisy border in white cardstock and then inked it in dark brown chalk ink.
  • I punched the Flourish border in pink cardstock and then inked it slightly on the edges with my Chestnut Roan chalk ink to give it a bit of "shabbyness".
I hope you enjoy this. I will be back later with a little different version of this layout which will feature a FREE file for my SCAL and MTC Cricut crew as well as all the other cut file "collectors" out there :-)

So Sweet Card Cricut and Cut File

Good morning all,
I am sharing this super cute card I made today! I used the Cindy Loo Cartridge to create the "Doily" background. I created the "So Sweet" title.
Here is a side view of the card to show dimension. You can't see it too well, but I glittered the whole doily with some Martha Stewart Glitter. I decided to "Kick It" old school style wit the glitter this time. I love my Stickles, but I just loved the texture of this glitter on the whole doily. It really gave it a nice effect.
Here is the inside of the card.

Here is a closeup of the inside top of the card. I cut another "doily" out of Cindy Loo and created the digi stamp sentiment.

Here is the bottom of the inside of the card. Ready for my personal sentiment to the recipient. I cut the cherries from the same title that I created.

Here's the recipe
  • Finished card size is 6 x 6

  • I used the Cindy Loo Cartridge - I cut two doilies out of white cardstock one at 5.75" for the outside of the card and one at 5.5" for the inside of the card.

  • Cricut With SCAL or MTC (or just about any other electronic die cutting device). This is to cut out the "So Sweet Title" I created.

  • Bazzill cardstock: White(Simply Smooth), Tomato(Red) and Raven(black)

  • Copic Markers: Green(Colored in the cherry Stems).

  • Basic Grey: Patterned Paper. (Cut three pieces: one at 5 and 7/8th" one at 5.75" and one at 5.5"

  • Printed Out the Digi Sentiment I created.

  • Colorbox Chalk Inks: Creamy Brown, Chestnut Roan, Maroon (Inked outer edge of outside doily and the white Outline of the title in Creamy brown for just the slightest grunge effect)Inked the patterned paper and inside white in the Chestnut Roan and the cherries in Maroon).

  • Glitter: Martha Stewart coarse glitter( I covered the outside doily completely in this. It really gave it a great effect. Sorry the picture really doesn't convey this element).

  • Stickles: Red and Lime Green (Used red on the red title letters and Lime Green on the Outside Cherry Stems)

  • White Signo Pen
