You Mean The World To Me Card

Happy Sabbath crafty friends,
Today I am sharing another card using the FREE* SVG Bundle.
you mean world to me card-490
Here is a look at my completed card. The finished size is 5.5 x 5.5. I started with a white cardstock base. I then cut a mat out of champagne cardstock and a piece of seaside paper pack. I then cut a pretty background using one of the SVG files in the FREE bundle (see below).

Here’s a closer look at the sentiment. I used my Slate ink pad and the You Mean The World To Me stamp set.  I stamped it onto one of the svg cuts.

Here’s a look at the base of the sentiment  mat. I cut the scallop in plain white cardstock and then used my Cotton Candy ink pad and the distressed backgrounds stamp set to stamp the “texture”.

flower centers-490
For the flowers. I once again used one of the files from the SVG bundle and then used a sponge and sponged some of the cotton candy ink pad  into the centers of my flowers. I then used my  Gold metallic marker  to draw in some of the veins. I also used my same gold marker to color in the pearls I used for the centers. I did also slightly curl the petals.

flowers cu2-490
Here’s a side view. I added some foam tape under each of the flowers to show the depth.

I finished off the look by adding a border with layers of paper and then some Flaxen ribbon and some thin thistle ribbon.

Happy Friday crafty friends,
I am back today with a fast and fabulous card using the August Stamp of The Month: What A Hoot and some more of the SVG cuts from the SVG bundle.

So here is what I came up with.
moments like this card-490
Here is my finished card. The finished size is 4.25 x 5.5. I started with a plain white cardstock base. I then cut a white cardstock mat and a mat from the Brushed Paper pack collection. I ran both of those mats through the quatrefoil embossing folder and then created a border by using a strip of the teal shimmer trim.

moments flower cu-490
For the flower, I once again used the SVG cut files of the What a Hoot stamp set I created and cut out some “petals”. I stamped them with my Juniper Ink Pad and then brushed them lightly with some of my Crystal Blue ink from the Whimsy Ink Pad setFor the center I added a silver sequins to the center and then used some foam tape to give the flower a little lift.

sentimentcu-490b
Here’s a picture of the sentiment. I once again used files from the SVG cut file bundle for the scalloped frames and oval mat. I cut them all out in white cardstock and then inked the middle edge with some Pixie ink and the edge of the oval mat with some more crystal blue ink, both  from the Whimsy Ink Pad set. I did add some White Opal liquid pearls to the centers of the base scallop. I also used some foam tape to give it all a little lift. You can also see that I added little dots of liquid pearls to the intersecting points of the embossing. The sentiment is stamped with my Juniper ink pad and comes from the Sweet Moments stamp set.

The Whimsy Ink Pad set comes with 10 mini pigment ink pads in coordinating colors. It is a great value and they last too!

Happy Thursday crafty friends,
I hope your week is going well. Today's project continues with featuring the Stamp of The Month stamp set.  There are only DAYS left to get this super cute and versatile set before it is gone!
augsotmbaseFINALB-450

So here is what I came up with.
treasured memories ctmh layout-490a
Beautiful layout featuring the Stamp of the Month to create the flowers, Treasured Friendship stamp set and the gorgeous Seaside Paper Pack.

flowers straight cu-490
Here’s a closer look at the pretty flowers I created with this month’s stamp of the month. I stamped them using my Juniper ink pad and then colored them in with my marigold marker. For the centers I used some gold sequins and then added a brown gem from the sparkles brown and tan assortment set.

shells closer2-490
Here’s a closer look at the border. I used some champagne cardstock and then tore the edge. I inked the torn edge with my dessert sand ink pad to simulate sand. I added the zip strip behind the torn layer to give the appearance of a sand dune fence in the distance.

shells cu-490
Here’s a closer look at some of the shells. I stamped them with my desert sand ink pad and then colored them with my various Touch Twin markers and some of my colored pencils.  Once I colored them in, I added just a touch of diamond stickles to give them just a bit of glistening shine. I also added some more gold sequins and some more of the brown gems around the shells and flowers.

burlap title closeup-490
Here’s a closer look at my title. I used some of the wonderful May Arts Burlap ribbon. I cut the edges and inked them to give them more of a beach-weathered look. I stamped the sentiment onto some Champagne cardstock with my desert sand ink pad.  I finished off the look of the title by adding in a couple of brads from the Rosewood Assortment set.

Flower Tutorial

Here’s how I did the title
burlap title closeup-490

burlap pieces cut edge
Start with some of the May Arts Natural White Wired Burlap Ribbon. I trimmed off the wire on both edges and pulled a thread or two from each side.

ribbon in ink pad
Next I took my piece of cut burlap ribbon and “dabbed” the edges into my desert sand ink pad. Sorry the photo is blurry, but you get the idea. I did this instead of using a sponge to ink the edges as I wanted a more intense color and using the sponge will pull some of the threads from the edges and I did want that either.

comparrison pieces-490
Here is what the inked edges looks like versus a plain piece.

burlap piece finished-490
Here’s my finished piece ready for my title. TIP: to adhere this to my layout, I used a regular glue stick. The consistency of the glue stick allowed it to grab to the fibers of the ribbon and allowed it to adhere nicely to my background paper.

Here’s one last look at my layout.
