Cartridge Showcase: Children Around the World

Happy Memorial Day and welcome to our weekly Cricut Cartridge Showcase. This week Design Team member Jennifer R. is showcasing the Children Around the World cartridge.  She has made some really cute cards for your viewing pleasure!  Take it away, Jennifer . . .

Hi, I'm Jennifer from Scrappin', Expect the Unexpected. I have a made a few cards for you today using the Children Around the World cartridge. I love culture and so when this cartridge came out, I just knew I had to have it!

I made this first card intending to use it as a birthday card and I used these cute Toucan birds from this cartridge. I just cut two out and one in blue and one in pink.  I flipped the pink one so that they were facing each other. I just think they are so cute and I love the sentiment and think it would be a great birthday party card. I also added some music note embellies from my stash.

I made this card for a graduation celebration. I love hot air balloons and this cartridge has one included in it and I cut that out and put it on a this yellow/clouds patterned paper. Before I put the banner on top of the balloon, I also ran the balloon part through my Cuttlebug using my Swiss dots embossing folder for a little more texture. Then in the sentiment I added the sentiment "Dream Big" and it says, "Congratulations" on the inside.

Everyone that knows me, knows how much I love anything Asian and so I had to make this next card using the Asian girl. Once I had her all cut out and put together, I laid down my floral patterned paper and then I took a strip of red card stock and used my doily border punch to punch both sides to get that lacy look and then my green strip I ran through the Cuttlebug using a leaves embossing folder. In the bottom, right corner is the sentiment, "Arigato!" which means "thank you" in Japanese. So this is a thank you card with some culture in it. :)

In the future, I intend to also use this cartridge in my classroom. I am a Music Teacher and I love incorporating cultural music into my classroom through different cultural songs/dances and also through the different instruments we play and where they originated from.

This is a very fun and cute cartridge and I hope you enjoyed the projects as much as I enjoyed making them! :D

Happy Craftin'
