Challenge #75: Carnival

Welcome to Cooking With Cricut!  Today is both wonderful and a bit sad.  Wonderful in that we have an awesome project challenge chosen by Chefs Yolie and Celeste.  They chose the theme Carnival or Carnival Birthday. And sad because this Design Team term has come to an end and we must bid a fond farewell to:  Dalis Acevedo, Adrian Allen, Yolie Burke, Debbie Butcher, Holly Gagnon, Celeste Lombas, Felicia McRae, Elizabeth Mindemann, Jenny Richards and Linda Therrien. We wish them all the best in their crafty endeavors. Thank you ladies for helping to make CWC such a fun and inspirational place.
Here is what the ladies created for today's challenge . . .

Yolie created her card using the Carousel cartridge.
Please visit her blog for more details.

Celeste created this easel card using the Carousel and Birthday Cakes
cartridges.  Check out the details on her blog.

Jen created this 12 x 12 scrapbook layout using the Plantin SchoolBook and
Mickey Font cartridges along with elements from the PaperCraftingWorld.com's
soon-to-be released "Carnival of Fun" cutting set.  Check out all the details on her blog.

Adrian created a framed piece using the Birthday Cakes
cartridge.  Visit her blog for more details.

Heather created this 12 x 12 birthday layout using Create-A-Critter and
Makin' the Grade cartridges.  Check out all the details on her blog.

Charlotte made this birthday card using the Birthday Bash, Beyond Birthdays
and George & Basic Shapes cartridges.  Visit her blog for all the details.

Felicia created her very first side step card using the
Carousel cartridge.  For more details, visit her blog.

Evelyn from the PCW Design Team joined our carnival fun and created these
party decorations using the soon-to-be released "Carnival of Fun" cutting set
from PaperCraftingWorld.com.  Visit her blog for all the details.

Designer Melin created this cute layout using the soon to be released Clown Digi from PCW. She also used the Art Philosophy cartridge for the banner and font.
Here is a close up of the clown. I printed out the "pre-colored" digi and then added the dimension and shading with my Copic Markers.

Now, it's your turn!  Link up your favorite carnival and/or carnival birthday themed project -- you could be our next Top Chef!  Here are the guidelines . . .

Cartridge Showcase: Disney Dreams Come True

Welcome to Cooking With Cricut's Monday Cartridge Showcase!  We hope you all had a wonderful, crafty weekend!  Chef Jenny J. (aka Crazyaboutcricut) has taken over the blog today and is sharing one of  her favorite cartridges -- an oldie. but goodie -- Disney's Dreams Come True.

The cartridge features Disney Princesses Ariel, Belle, Jasmine and Pocahontas and  includes: Flesh/Hair, Outfit/Outfit, White/Extra, Icon, Base/Icon, and Charm creative features.

So without further ado . . . here's Jenny!

Hi Everybody!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the Disney cartridges.  Even though they can be challenging, they are SO worth it!

My daughter recently had an Ariel-themed birthday party.  Whenever my kids want a theme that I can cut with my Cricut, I'm so happy!  It saves money, and shopping time :O)  For my first project, I want to share the perfect banner I was able to make for her using the Dreams Come True Disney Princess cartridge:

For my second project I made this card using this elephant that is only two layers!  One of my favorite things about this (and all Disney carts) is the Icon feature. These are still in a Disney style, but are A LOT easier to put together.

My last project is another card again using the Icon feature.  A simple two layer cut, some doodling, a sentiment and you have a card you can make in minutes!

Super cute projects, Jenny!  Looks like your daughter had a wonderful birthday!!  Please check out the details on Jenny's blog and make sure to leave her a comment letting her know how much you liked her showcase.

Check back in tomorrow, Tuesday, February 28th for a PaperCraftingWorld.com Design Team challenge and Wednesday, February 29th for a CookingWithCricut.com Design Team challenge.  These will be the last challenges with the current teams -- so make sure you stop by and give 'em some love and a shout out!  (Our new Design Teams will be introduced the following week.)
