Cartridge Showcase: Birthday Bash

Wow!!! Have we got an amazing showcase for you this week.  Designer, Madison,  from Funky Cards has brought us a fabulous showcase of the cartridge Birthday Bash.  You may know Madison not only as a designer here, but also from the I Feel The Love  project.

Welcome to Funky Cards...

and another Fresh Market Mondaze cartridge showcase. Today I would like to share with you three projects I made using the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge.

I wanted to think outside of the box and create projects that didn't have anything to do with a "birthday" theme and I didn't want to use the main cut out. My goal was to inspire you to pull out those cartridges that you think only have one purpose and make something completely new and different with them. So, what do you think?

This first project is a Christmas card.  How many of you have made a Christmas card with the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge?  Let me know if you have!!!

The card started with triangle banners (pg. 61)
and dripping candle wax (pg. 51).

Once the pieces were cut, the edges were inked.

Next the pieces were assembled to create a Christmas tree.

The tree was adorned with decorations made from swirls used to decorate a cake (pg. 42) and a star (pg. 24) to place at the top.  An inked rug, a window showing a scene of the outdoors, and a sentiment were added to finish off the card:)

The next project I created was a set of Halloween party invitations.  I bet that is not what you were thinking!

The invitations were made to look like little ghosts:)  They were created by first cutting out a tag (pg. 68) and adding a bit of ink to give them some pop.  The base of the eyes were made from circles (pg. 65) that were cut from different sizes.  Googly eyes were attached to add some fun to these ghosts! Finally, the smile was pieced together from half circles (pg. 53) layered on top of each other.  All of the information for the party was added to the back and adhered in another circle sized to fit.

My final project was a friendship card.  This all occasion card could be given to anyone special at any time of the year.

This card highlights the fonts on this cartridge.  Birthday bash includes the complete alphabet and the numbers 1-10.

I hope you have been inspired to check out your cartridges in a new way.  Look beyond the obvious and see what you can design.  There are endless possibilities.

Thank you for stopping by.
